As far as I've read, and just looked up on yahoo! messenger's website. The video chat is still now supported in the android phones yet.
If you happened to read it on Engadget, it was only for iphone3gs and iphone4 http://www.engadget.com/2010/10/11/updated-yahoo-messenger-app-now-live-in-app-store-3g-video-call/
someone on an android phone may recieve a video chat call from an iphone user. But, we may not make the video chat call yet

[Q] Skype

Can we Skype on this thing ? Can't find the app in the market
I downloaded the apk and the app runs smooth. The only thing is no video chat. Voice calls work great though.

We basically want to be able to video chat with our grandkids. They have an ipod touch. CS representative told me today that Tango from the marketplace was an app for both the ipod and the Streak. Guess we will be using that.
Also, yahoo messenger has video chat capabilities. Maybe since I'm an old grandma I'm the only one who doesn't know this stuff, but I'm posting here in case it will help others.
I would ultimately love to have Skype with video and be able to use that at all times instead of having to use a different program for every video call we want to make.
The iphone has skype video. And from what i read android should have it soon as well.

So can the streak 7 use skype to make voice calls? That would fit the missing element if we have voip.
Hope video chat can be avaiable on android device soon.
I use yahoo messanger for video chat. Its just you cant use the front camera only back.

Qik video chat not available?

I have a Tmobile gtab, my parents have a VZW gtab. I have the qik video chat application on mine. My parents do not. I thought it would be as simple as going onto market and getting it, but its not there for them. Any reason why? There is a qik app, but it s video app, not a video chat app.
Is qik a Tmobile only application?
Qik Video
If I'm wrong about this, someone please correct me. But, I was told by a friend that it has something to do with being CDMA vs. GSM. Qik will not do video over CDMA, so they keep it off the Market.
I have a Sprint Tab and I can't do video with Qik. But, I would suggest iMovicha considering it is one of the few that had both an Android and PC version that can chat between the two.
Hope this helps!
I would suggest oovoo it's also cross-platform.

Tango is also cross platform with iphone and works very well.

Is there cross-platform video chat?

Anyone figured out how to do cross-platform video chatting with the DS7? I know qik just updated their app so it works for us now, but I really want to be able to chat with my wife who only has a laptop. Wifi is fine.
Also, does google support video chat with the DS7?
Oovoo

Oovoo sucks for the streak it doesnt allow you to use the front facing cam...
Have u tried fring, not sure if it will work.

fring, qik, skype: nope.
oovoo: it's not video chat unless you can see the video while you're chatting.
anyone have any other ideas? I assume that this will be possible in honeycomb. Anyone have any idea how long that will take? Gah. Not impressed with this thing so far.

Video chat

I did a search and foumd nothing for the D3, so can someone recommend a good video chat app? I tried Qik Video but it kept FC, and I would like a recommendation. Thanks!

VTok allows you to video chat through Google Talk. Fring works for the Droid 3 as well.
My wife and I use Tango between her iPhone 4 and my Droid 3. Quality is mediocre, but it works.

I got tango. It works, but as you said the quality is a little lacking. No worries, though. I really only need it when my husband is out of town. Thanks!

Fring seems to be the best one so far for me. 3g is medicore at best, but works slightly better on wifi
video chat with paltalk mobile
You can try paltalk mobile. visit paltalk.com from your mobile browser and it should direct you to the android download page, or you can get it from the android market by searching for paltalk.
DISCLAIMER: I work for them so please don't get mad, the video is a subscription service, although we are adding 'super IM' soon wihch will allow for up to 10 users in your video chat for free. The subscription service is for the open chat rooms and costs 60 bucks a year.
We are in testing now so it may be a bit buggy, but it does allow for multiple videos at once in open groups. Stay tuned for the super IM release which as I said earlier will have free video for private conversations.
Warning! - paltalk does have 'adult' activity in some chat rooms so this is not an app for kids or anyone under the age of 18. It's not a smut site, but there is an adult category (one of many many categories)
I have a droid 3 and on my 3g connection the video is FAST!
To be honest this app was developed for our current users and subscribers, but if you are seeking a pretty amazing video chat app that is still a bit early in development you may want to give it a try.
You do NOT have to pay anything if you don't want to.
