[Q] Kies issue...connection screen flashing on and off on Galaxy S - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I have a weird issue with Kies. When I have my Galaxy S in Kies mode and connect it via USB, on my PC Kies shows the device connecting on the upper-right while the Galaxy S screen starts flashing the 'Kies connecting' screen open and closed constantly and keeps doing that until I unplug. The 'device connecting' box in Kies never changes either.
Has anyone had this issue or know how to resolve it?

[Q] can't connect my tab with Kies

Hi everybody, my problem is simple and dumb... i bought a Gtab 8.9 for Christmas, it's working fine and i'm very satisfied, but i'm stuck with the default firmware, honeycomb 3.1, and sometimes it kinda freezes, and i wanted to try a newer, 3.2 or maybe ICS firmware... and before flashing some mod i would like to see if there's any available from kies... well, it's been more than a month and i can't seem to be able to properly connect it to my pc/laptop with kies and the usb cable... i tried re-installing several times kies, did the connection error/unplug/uninstall drivers/reinstall driver stuff countless times on both desktop and laptop, but kies always ends up saying "device error-unplug" or "device error-reboot"... kies wireless works fine but i can't search for new firmwares, the cable works fine and i can charge and/or transfer files in a breeze... i looked for some usb settings on the tab but found nothing... what am i missing? every time i plug the tab it goes straight on autoplay, and kies won't recognize it... if i turn it off and plug it kies doesn't find it either, nothing changes.... can anyone help?

I don't remember too well, but have you checked the USB settings at the (I think) Applications section at Settings? Anyways, Kies...well, I don't expect too much from it reliability-wise. Sometimes it bricks tabs when updating (already happened in this forum). If it still doesn't work, hey, see it as a good sign. Something preventing you dealing with that thing!

[Q] Data adapter stopped working after root

Hi everyone,
I'm using a Galaxy Tab 10.1n and experiencing some problems with the device since I recently rooted and flashed it with the latest Overcome rom.
The tab has some multifunction-adapter on its bottom where you can plug in the data cabel (ending with an usb plug) or some USB/SD-card adapter to directly connect an USB-stick or a SD-card with the tablet. When I connected the tab with my computer using the data cabel the device was recognized by Windows and a autostart dialog was shown offering the possibility to browse the tab. And when I plugged in an USB stick using the adapter it was recognized by the android system on the tab.
I'm writing "was recognized" since this is no longer the case since the time I rooted the tab. Right after the rooting was finished - so before I flashed the Overcome rom - when I replugged the tab to the PC an error message appeared stating that "an usb device was not recognized", in the details it said "One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it." A click on the balloon took me to the device manager showing an "unrecognized device" which status was "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)".
Since then the behaviour kind of changed when connecting the tab to the computer. Now there is no popup what so ever coming up on the computer, on the tab side there is the usb connection sound and a message box stating "USB connected" with "MTP connected" in smaller letters right below.
Well, and this kind of freaks me out. On the one hand the tab says there is an usb connection available but the computer won't recognize the device (already reinstalled Kies and the usb drivers alone). On the other hand the tab won't recognize any device attached to it via the adapter.
So I tried to flash a stock rom to the device... failing in trying to do so since Odin won't get an usb connection to flash the files from the computer to the tab.
Sooo: Anyone out there who can give me a clue what is going wrong and how I can fix it?
You are in wrong forum. This is for galaxy tab 7" original.

Oh, sorry. Searched for Galaxy Tab and didn't thought about another board for the specific versions...
Could a mod please move this topic to the right board?

Help me with Samsung Galaxy Mini II

Hello.
Short story: my phone was a little wet and i have some issues with it, mostly i want to get a mass storage to get working. (cant root)
Basically at first the phone didn't even want to charge, when i connected it to the PC windows was giving me an error that the device cannot be recognized, and couldn't install the drivers. (i had Kies installed)
I dried it completely, now the phone turns on without any problem, when i connect it to the pc the phone is recognizing connection (i hear sound + the button backlights are firing up for a sec)
Homever, windows is not detecting any USB device at all, and in about phone/info it says the phone is connected to the AC instead of USB.
When i connect it with USB there is no dropdown in notification to choose from charging, storage etc.
There is also manual usb storage mounting under settings/communication/usb settings , when i'm trying to mount here it just says to connect the phone with usb cable (not detecting connection, homever the backlight + sound is here after connecting, and it's charging)
I tried connecting it with usb debugging on/off even tried to fiddle with in service menu (*#7284#) but nothing.
And since i cannot get the usb storage working basically i cannot flash anything or root it.
Also the USB cable is not a Samsung but an HTC one, could this be a problem? (people in different thread said those cables are the same so it shouldnt be a problem, same amperage, same stick etc.)
Even tried to install MountUSB Widget from market, but it doesn't work when im trying to start the app it's force closing, when i make widget on desktop and press it the phone just vibrate for 1 sec and nothing happens.
When i connect phone with Kies AIR and it works, i mean it shows the storage information, also recognize the phone model correctly, how much free space i have on internal and on SD card but i cannot click "show in explorer" it's greyed out.
Any experts out there could help me?
