I had an issue where google talk kept force closing on opening. I'm rooted so I thought it was a good idea since I backed up everything via titanium backup when I first switched over to uninstall it via Titanium, then reinstall it. Of course now for whatever reason titanium doesn't give me the ability to restore the application. Anyone know how to fix this? I think I just need the google apps apk but I don't know where to get the most recent package of them. I had google talk 1.3 installed and its different for froyo. I can always go back to my original nandroid backup if its not possible but I'd lose all the customizations and app installs/uninstalls since. Thanks for the help.
Flash the rom you have installed again.
Hi, I was wondering whether there's a feature in TiBu which allows you to backup the frozen apps/services and after flashing a new ROM, restore these back so that I don't need to freeze again.
I have 7" galaxy tab SCH-i800 2.3.5. I rooted with supreroneclick b4 ota update to 2.3.5. after update titanium backup says not rooted. Now both Blockbuster and google say can not work because rooted. Superuser still on tab and would like to remove it. Reset tab to factory and still same problem and checked su with terminal emulator and not rooted.I think superuser is the problem or could it be unrelated?
There is a froyo stock unrooted.
I don't know if it is worth your while

thanks, i am not sure if this is a correct file so will hold untill i find out more. So the biggger question is: Am I rooted or not? Will this reset to stock froyo unrooted be the way to go or find a way around google and blockbuster not letting me play movies?
Titanium backup will sometimes report that you are not rooted because it hasn't been granted superuser permissions. It's not that you're not rooted, it's just that Titanium backup doesn't have root access. Google and Blockbuster are correct in that you are rooted, it's titanium backup that is the issue.
Try going into your superuser app and seeing if Titanium Backup is on the "Deny" list. If it is, delete it from that list, go into Titanium Backup. (It should prompt you for Root Access, but if it doesn't, go into Menu>More and select "Reload Application"
If Titanium Backup is not on the "Deny" list within the Superuser app, then go into Settings>Applications>Select the "All" Tab>Locate "Titanium Backup">and "Clear Cache">then "Clear Data". Then go back into Titanium backup and it should prompt you for superuser access.
If all of this fails, you might need to update your superuser app. This can be done in the market. Good luck.
I think the OP doesn't want root.
Said "Now both Blockbuster and google say can not work because rooted"
Seems like he just want to go back to stock or completely remove root.
I tried all but to no avail. This must be a common problem, only a few will notice. With all the smart people here, must be some one who is smarter than the big guys. Please help or advise if I install stock rom what can I expect when done like any issues or not being able to get 2.3.5 GB back or losing wifi or 3G? Thanks for all of your help so far.
Rooting again with superoneclick,, if nothing change,, restock with froyo unrooted and rooting again
Hey guys
how can I make a backup of my games progress and apps data
My phone is not roooted now
and what exactly sony backup and restore app backs?
I want to flash kitkat and i don't want to lose my progress in asphalt 8
thanks
Sony backup stores all app data including save games but a backup for older android version won't work in new one i.e. Kitkat.
The best option is to root and use Titanium Backup.
P.S. If you are on stock 4.3 and cant root, you can backup all your apps via Sony backup and then downgrade to 4.2. The backup from new version works on old version (surprisingly). Then just root and use Titanium backup.
You may need to give Helium a try.
Newbie Question
If I did a backup of data with TWRP recovery and then flashed different rom and then tried to restore the backup would it work?
Most likely you will end up with a bootloop or Android Core constantly crashing. If you want to backup and restore apps data, I'd recommend using Titanium Backup instead.
If the new ROM is similar enough, and you only restore DATA, it might work. But like the last response, it might not. I also suggest (and use) Titanium for migrating app data. Although be aware that Titanium causes problems when restoring Whatsapp (and maybe a couple other apps that I don't use)? I've used Titanium with no problems on the 3T (as I have on countless ROM flashes on several Android devices).
