Hey XDA,
i have installed a ROM from here and i've got it deleted with task29 but what do i have to do now my Xperia X1 just stays on the sony ericsson logo and freezes there.
what do i have to do?

Flash a ROM, custom or stock....

You can search for the video tutorials made by Biovolt. Or if you allready know how to flash, then just put your phone in Bootloader mode and flash away!

thats the problem, how do i flash without a ROM on my phone?
(i just only can get in the tripple color screen)

That's the solution just connect you x1 to computer with tripple color screen and flash a rom.

How do i flash a ROM then?

You wrote, that you've deleted your rom with task29. Do it on the same way, just replace the kovsimg.nbh file that's in the task29s folder with another one what you can find here on the site. just ownload one and put it there, most of them are in 7z zip or rar, so first unpack it and when you find a custom-ruu.nbh just rename it to kovsimg.nbh or maybe it's already named to kovsimg.nbh(energy roms). on the first time I renamed the zip file, and i didn't understand what's the problem.

My phone is just stuck on 0% and then Task29 shows update error 262 What do i have to do now?

noboy that knows the answer on this site?

I think you got the answer. In the tripple color screen, when you connect your phone into the computer, it can be flashed..... just download a rom and flash.......

it is so simple...just take the battery out and put it in again, then push the volume bottom down and then push the power bottom.keep them pushed until the tri color screen appear & then connect it to pc and then run rom installer.it is easy bro.be sure you got my words.do you?any question?
you just need to have the rom installer & the rom image in the same folder.without any thing else.

ok,yr device is not unlock.so you must install just your stock rom(witch ur device came with it).first take out memory and format in fat32 with a memory reader, then copy the rom image into memory(with the name KOVSIMG.nbh).take memory in & go to tri color in device and it must be installed.(be sure about your charge level)
I hope it works.
there was same problem for many others & this way worked.

Hopeless Task29..its a curse....

Don't dispair! I had the same problem and got out of the situation: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505377&p=3677341
You probably have the wrong Original Rom from HTC installed (may wrong language).
To solve the situation you will need USPL. USPL will install. If you are using Windows Vista you will probably have to update the drivers (See the thread).
Once USPL is running install the Original HTC 1.56-ROM.
but how can i can i installl uspl if every time i get into bootloader it turns off after 10 seconds and then turns back on...
nobody else can help??????
Try to take out the battery for one minute or two, then see what happens when switching on.
If ok (usual start) make usual normal bootloader state, and see what is your SPL. Then decide which flash you have to do.

Flash back your original ROM, you don't need USPL to do this.
For your original ROM look at this link:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blackstone_Ship_exe
If you have problem flashing with you PC, you can try to flash from SD just extracting the files from the original ROM exe you downloaded on a temp folder (you can use winrar to do it), rename the "ruu_signed.nbh" to "BLACIMG.nbh", copy it to the root of your SD card, and flash the rom from the tri-color screen by pressing the power button.
Then, if everything is fine and your phone work again, you can think to flash a coocked ROM using USPL.
NOTE: you can read the wiki to learn something more, start here:

It mean your phone stay at bootloader? tri-color sreen with SPL you can see. It's ok. You should download USPL 2.5 and Rom ship 1.56.4xx. Fisrt you flash SPL by running blac_uspl , your SPL will be change to 1.15USPL, then you flash ship rom 1.56.4xxx, then everything will be ok. Give it a try
Note : It's more stable if you use Win XP.
from my experience with HTC Wizard and what you are describing it
sounds like
your battery is very close to dead
you need to find a way to recharge it
your phone is protecting it by shutting off
also i don't know how valid this is for the Blackstone
but the wizard would not charge in tri-color mode
(again for battery sake)
so make sure you have a nicely charged battery (buy a spare or a table charger)
and then try to flash something again
P.S. i don't know how one sentence cries for help peppered with EXCLAMATION points encourage anyone to help you

A clarification of the above post. When you have 3 colors (actually 4 with white color) and USB on the white band you have to start blac_uspl.exe. That will replace the original bootloader of your phone with cracked temporary bootloader named USPL. At this stage it shall no more give errors and you may flash it from the PC or from the memory card.
The suggestion for the battery also seems fair.

You have to copy the BLACIMG.nbh on the microSD using a USB card reader, not your phone. Then with the microSD on the phone, in the tri-color screen, it will automatically flash your ROM, if you don't have low battery of course.
If you want to use USPL to flash a coocked ROM (for your original official rom is not needed). Your phone have to stay at tri-color screen for more then 10s.
Perhaps your problem is a low battery as someone already suggested.
Do you have tried to remove battery and put it back, let the phone off and charge it with the wall charger?
lol i did have low battery... how unlucky am i... it would shut off every so often....
but i fixed!!!!

Dont stress so much next time. When your stressed out you dont think with a clear head. Glad it worked out for you.
The changing of ROM only seems can not brick your phone. Only unsuccessful changing of SPL can. Until SPL is OK you may ever flash new ROM.

any other way to flash the rom beside sd card

any other way to flash the rom beside used the sd card , because when i when to boot load tri color screen it say no image file , so any one please help .
Did you hard SPL it, and are you sure you renamed the file correctly?
yes i did and try find a way used pc to flash it , anyone know
hey, sorry i aint an expert but have you flashed the rom to the root of the memory card, turned the phone off, taking the battery out for 3-5 seconds, re-installing the battery then holding down the volume down button and at the same time th epower button, this should then display the bootloader mode, then everything is basically automatic, and just follow the on screen instructions, down forget to hard reset after installation!

The ROMS ive installed recently tend to come bundled with RomUpdateUtility.exe which allows you to install the rom from your desktop via usb link.
Here's the ROM library:

X1 hangs on tri-colour screen: tried to restore stock spl

Hi folks!
I hope that you can help me:
I have to restore the stock spl on my xperia in order to get the keyboard and a case crack repaired!
The initial situation was like this: X1 hard spled with custom fw.
I first downloaded a german vodafone rom and flashed this rom with the sd card method: Renamed the firmware to kovsimg.nbh, copied it to sd and flashed via hardspl. I rebooted the phone and the standard tom booted just fine.
Then I downloaded "ruusigned_072stockspl.zip" from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=431218
I extracted it, renamed it to kovsimg.nbh and flashed it... after the flashing process (the bar was full which means it flashed 100% to me) the phone showed "loading" for a while... after like 10mins I put out the battery.
The phone now starts into tricolour screen even if I dont press power+down.
its on stock SPL (shows SPL-0.72.0000) and it says "Continue to Upgreade ROM... please wait" but nothing happens..
what steps should I take from there on? I ve attached a screen which shows the tri colour screen.
Did I brick my X1?
Don't think you got much more options then try to reflash the spl. Maybe that will fix this. Do you still got usb access in this tri color mode?
nope, I dont get a usb connection
With spl you mean I should try to reflash hardspl?
If I have no hard spl, is it possible to flash a original rom with a sd card only?

thx for your advice I am sure that this will be the solution - stupid thing is: like the guy in the post you linked I have lost my micro sd to SD Adapter and therefore I cant write the stock firmware to my card -.- stupid thing...
In a hour I ll rush away, buy a adapter and then try to flash the stock rom but as it sounds from the thread the scenario is the same so I think it will work.
EDIT: This was the solution I downloaded the stock rom from the sticky thread in the Rom Section from XDA, extracted it to the sd root and renamed it kovsimg.nbh. Put sd card into X1, started X1 which automatically booted into tri colour screen - I only had to press power to porcede and everything is finde now after the flashing process! Stock rom and stock spl on my X1 thanx
simple!
i had the same problem...just rename the original rom.image to RUU_Signed.nbh then open hardspl (dnt push next)and replace the file push next ,update and it;s done!don't worry if u see the error at 0 % try to open the x1 after that and it would be fine

Do you have a nandroid backup ? If so , try restore . I cant even get into my recovery . If dont work maybe try Turn it off and try to hold the power and home key. IF you get stuck again, hard reboot again (battery), load up, THEN turn it off again. This time, turn it on with the (-) volume button held down.
Have you tried taking the battery out for 30 seconds and putting it back in?

It's a Rom Utility Update. Just download the RUU, install it, then run it. Follow the directions within the RUU. You will have to plug your phone to the PC and let the RUU do its thing. When it's completed, your phone should have a factory stocked ROM.

Isn't there another way to boot? I remember something about using the down volume button, the back arrow and booting... that's probably not the actual keys, but I know it was different from home and power. Anybody?

Phone doesn't want to boot.

My TP2 stopped working ((((((
I was using it with some cooked ROM (i think it's not relevant what exactly). This morning i had my breakfast and i've got an SMS from an acquaintance. After this i couldn't see my home screen anymore, but i could still use start menu and so on. I wasn't first time as this error happened, so i didn't thought anything and just made a reboot. After this i saw bootloader screen and it was message about missing ROM shortly to see. Nohting else, only bootscreen, hard reset didn't work either. So i came home, connected my phone via USB to my notebook, powered it on and started to flash ROM. As flash was successfully complete, the phone rebooted and i saw... bootloader again!
So i don't know what to do now, anybody some thoughts?

Yes, i have a GSM TP2. As you advised, i downloaded Task 29, unzipped it and run ROMUpdateUtility.exe from its folder. After 100% phone booted again to the bootloader, I went to ROM's folder and run CustomRUU.exe from it to flash the new ROM. After "success" i disconnected the USB-cable and started the phone... no changes. I still see the bootloader. And i still cannot hard reset my phone for some reason.

How are you hard resetting your phone? All I do is power it off then hold the send and end keys and press and hold the power button until a message pops up asking if you want to hard reset. Press the vol up key to reset and after it completes press the vol up key to reboot.
Just a random thought here--is it possible your volume down button is stuck?

It sounds like your bootloader is somehow broken, if it isn't a problem with the volume down key.
Try searching for information about the "mtty" utility. It's kinda complicated, but I think it's helped people in a similar situation.

Now I am encountering bigger problems with my device. I tried to use MTTY ver 1.42 first. I couldnt use it because there wasn't an option to choose USB-port. Yes, i unchecked "Connect via USB" in WMDC and killed it then in task manager. Then i flashed stock SPL ver 0.79, hm nothing new. Then I tried to flash the original SPL, i.e. ver 0.84 and it got stuck by 0%. I waited and waited and waited, so i had to remove cable and the battery. After that nothing worked. No flashing worked at all, even Task 29 gets stuck by 0% every time........ I dont know what to do now.....

1. Make sure your microSD is Formatted to fat32 (you dont have to delete all files but it is safer if you do)
2. Download your prefered Rom from the Rhodium Rom Develpoment Page and unzip/unrar it to your PC
3. Goto the Roms Folder and rename the .nbh file to RHODIMG.nbh
4. Copy the RHODIMG.nbh file to the root of your MicroSD Card
5. Plug the MicroSD Card into the phone
6. Enter the BootLoader screen, you will first see a tri-color screen with the phone and SPL Information at the top
7. Follow the On Screen instructions to start the update
8. After flash has completed, press the reset button with the stylus to reset the device.
You might also want to try flashing from another computer.

well it seems that you have flashed back to stock spl since it is showing you spl version (0.79)
which means you will have to hardspl it again in order to flash any custom roms again but it is probably unlikely that it will not work because when you reflash stock spl you are suppose to flash stock rom & radio first before flashing stock spl i'm just guessing i'm not to sure on this 1 i could be wrong though
P.S. - just a suggestion since you have stock spl back on the phone try & flash a stock rom to see if that works

Is that maybe the problem ? Did you flash the stock SPL back onto it as you referred to earlier ? Because 0.79 is a stock SPL version, so it won't boot a custom ROM with that SPL.
So is the whole problem that you have a custom ROM and stock SPL ? I hope it's that simple, but fear it isn't.
I hope!
Hello,
if you have 0.79 hard spl,
1. you should install stock rom, not cooked. After go to bootloader mode.
2. Run Rhodium-HardSPL_V2_00R3.exe from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4363807&postcount=1
3. Install cooked rom!
It is working!
I hope it will help your problem!

Have you tried flashing a ROM using the storage card method? Might be some error being caused but your computer.

Yeah guys, here's what i did and what i see. Before i flashed stock SPL 0.79 i flashed stock ROM and stock radio. Then i tried to flash stock SPL 0.84 and it didn't work for some reason. OK, then I read an advice from Doo Doo and tried to flash stock ROM again. I was wondering that it worked... but as it got 100% the device entered bootloader mode again! But after this the version of SPL was 0.88
I cannot use storage card method because i don't have any possibility to get access to the card from my PC And I just tried to hard SPL my phone from another PC (winxp) so it didn't work either, stuck by 0%.
Try to older stock rom. Maybe it will install older spl...
Sorry, but I couldn't help this problem! :S
