the numbers and keys on my qwerty keyboard are either in the wrong place or not operable after i flashed my Tilt2 with the energy rom
u have to install the keyboard settings for your phone. i think energy ROM has a carrier provisioning tool. it should in tools or something. try to use that for your carrier. if it still doesnt work, just look for keyboard settings. its everywhere in all threads.
EDIT: the carrier provisioning tool should definitely work. it should be in the tools folder. make sure u restart. and as forum policy.. please search before u post. if u just do a 'keyboard fix' search in the energy ROM thread, lot of posts come up which tells u this same thing.
It says right in the Energy ROM thread FAQs how to set the phone for the correct keyboard mapping.

Carrier Provisioning: There are many different carriers, and some require different provisioning. If you are experiencing issues such as sending/receiving SMS/MMS, or your physical keyboard is not mapped corrected, you MAY need to provision for your carrier. For AT&T and T-Mobile, go to Start > Tools > Carrier Provisioning and select your carrier.

If this has been addressed before then I apologize, but my searches turned up nothing. Has anyone else had problems with registry changes not sticking after a reset on ATT's Tilt? I have tried multiple editors and the PTT fix cab which updates the registry. Each time, after a soft reset the changed or added keys disappear or revert to their original values?

The best resources are probably the two below in my signature.
One unlock allows you to utilize different carriers with your phone. That is SIM unlock. That's what you received from ATT.
CID unlock expands on that allowing you to safely load roms other than those tagged as being from your carrier. That's a weak explanation and the pros here have documented it far better in the Wiki.

Huh? the op didnt say anything about sim

anyway what registry key are you modifying?
there are multiple reasons why a registry doesn't stick.
according to this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=330322
try powering down instead of using the soft reset button.
if all else fails, make a registry file and put it in the startup folder, since most registry keys take effect immediately.
Wierd... that's not the thread I was reading when I posted.....
Hi,
I have two questions regarding my Touch Diamond.
1st) When we look at the program tab we get 2 sections allowing (3x3) 9 shortcuts to a program. I would like to know it this tab can be modified to store more shortcuts
2nd) At HTC.com there is a new ROM update. When I look at my ROM version, it says: 1.37.172.3 NLD (I suppose this is an older version).
I was wondering if installing this update would delete my default programs.
My phone is from Vodafone and has by default certain preinstalled programs installed by Vodafone on it. If I were to lose these programs, I would lose access to certain features that I use
Hope someone can answer this for my.
Cheers!
2) Yeah, unfortunately flashing the ROM will erase all your settings/installed programs.
1) Sorry, I don't know how to answer this one.
2)Yes. With the new ROM, your phone will lose all the installed programs. Contact Vodafone and try to know if they are releasing this update with their programs already instaled.
On the other hand, you can try to save all your programs with an application called "Sashimi" that saves your programs in order to restore them after a ROM upgrade.

1st) yes... you can... but unfortunately I can't remember how. try a search, but I was reading that it's very simple to do...
Thank for you answers all.
Pretty weird that there is a rom update, but that my service provider does not support this. Iow I am forced to keep the current version.
@ Leopardone: That is great, too bad that when searching these forum on 'Program tab' it gives too much results to accurately find something.

Actually, you can't. What you can do, is add more buttons. Unfortunately, you can't put any link in those which makes the whole procedure rather useless.
I thought there was a registry tweak to add a few. I'll check into it.
EDIT: Nope, above poster is right.
There's a registry tweak around here that shortens the distance between icons and fits more icons to Programs panel. Search for it.
thier must be a quick fix but i cannot find it. My keyboard does not press the correct keys when i hit the function key. i realized this when i tried to activate the wifi and my tilt opened file explorer. not a bad thing to play with but i would like to use the special keys... exc, :;.,<>' whatever, they don't work. they activate a different key.
It's an old issue and the fix is all over the site. You need to download the keyboard fix (use Schap's tool to fix it).
I bet you have an AT&T Branded Tilt.
Read The Wiki. Kaiser FAQ. It is there. I know it is.

hi, I just installed the chinese input method that I found on this forum (the ngn4_cht_ezinput) and I love it. However, I got a little problem. Since the input mehod comes from a diff device, it has different keyboard layout than my tilt 2. Is there anyway to get the tilt 2's own ATT keyboard layout with the input method? I want it so I can use my keypboard to type stuff.
thanks a lot guys

Try this... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=537291
thank you so much for the link.
I have already gotten the chinese input to work with the program I have previously download a working chinese input. However, my problem is not that I cannot input and view chinese but rather, I cannot use my included keyboard layout to type them due to the different layout that ATT uses on the Tilt 2. Anyone has any idea how can I use my keyboard to type them?
thanks a lot guys.
Try This! So far best for me.

Install from smaller to bigger file size. Including SIP, Ping Ying, Chinese Serch, Chinese Writing and recognize Chinese charators , work for me. Been using since WM6 till now. Now problem at all.
thank you so much for your feedback. I follow the instruction and installed it. It does let me type and read chinese but again, my ATT keyboard on the tilt 2 still is not working properly, ie the physical keys are not matching the onscreen keyboard layout.
Looks like it maybe impossible to use the physical keyboard with all of these other input methods that are not officially supported.

For AT&T and T-Mobile, go to Start > Tools > Carrier Provisioning and select your carrier. you can try 搜狗 input for wm
Hi everyone,
I think I'm the dumbest of all dumbest because I couldn't find anything about this problem, but here I go.
I have a Nokia Lumia 530 (RM-1017) which I debranded: 059W3P8 was the former product code, and the new one (which I'm using) is 059W552. I'm also running WP8 (8.10.14234.375 concretely).
The main problem here is that I can't use "shared connection" feature, because, as the phone shows, "There's no cellular data connection to share right now", thing that makes me freak out because, as you will see in the uploaded pictures... I have an active internet connection.
I'm desperate and I don't know what else I can do. If someone already had this problem, please share with me/us how can we fix it.
Thanks a lot.
Follow the vcREG thread. Then put a registry editor on and list your keys here
HKLM\System\ControlSet001\Services\ICSSVC\Settings

I can't dump Settings subtree, so I made some screenshots of it:
That all looks good.
I have a different dedicated connection and private connection but I'm with tmobile
There's only a few more keys and it should definitely be working

T-mobile throttles my tethering after so many GB so I'm not sure if that plays into it or not.
so you might want to try with it and without it
Let us know if you have success
It has nothing to do with the registry, as I tried with another SIM from a different carrier and surprisingly it worked. I think it's a bug from the APN settings:
For the SIM with the trouble, I had to enter manually APN settings and it didn't work, but for the other SIM I used the default APN settings and it worked without any problem.
I hope WP10 solves this, because I expected a better experience with Lumia phones and Windows Phone...

I have that keys identically, so I think it surely is a bug.
Thanks so much for helping me
interesting... thanks for that update
you can try the access point app updating it might help too.
On my unlocked Lumia 920 (WP 8.0 Amber)I got a weird message saying I didnt have tethering on my plan (which I do)
I downloaded the Spanish (Spain) keyboard and voila it works it seems access point screws up the APN settings on that phone
