Is there a free office app that anyone has gotten to work on the g tablet yet that will allow you to open and edit MS office docs?
Documents to Go. I used 2.0 from the apk but 3.0 installed fine after I got market working.
That's not free to edit docs, though.

Docs
A decent set of applications for editing documents is what we really need. It is probably the most important thing to me. Until there is a application that rivals iwork on the ipad it will always have a one up with people that need the productivity applications.
Google docs is working OK, and it is free, but still not great.
doesn't quickoffice work on the gtab? I believe it was in the tntlite/gapps apk. might want to give that one a try. I was hoping it did, but have not downloaded or installed it yet.
IIRC it's still only a viewer. You can buy QuickOffice or a comparable app for $10-$15 on the Market. But they are designed for phones and do not take advantage of screen real estate (e.g. no toolbars, etc.).
Not sure if it works on the G Tablet since I did not get mine yet to mess around with it yet but I know Google Docs is just a free website and you can edit all types of office program documents. May just have to maybe use the browser and go to docs.google.com
Take a look at 'goodintentions' site. He has a link to Quick Office HD which is MS Office compatible.

Quickoffice HD is very good if you are running one of the Honeycomb varients. Otherwise the standard Quickoffice Pro is pretty good as well. No, they are not free, but you get what you pay for...
BTW - you have to purchase "Pages, "Numbers," and "Keynote" seperately on the iPad to the tune of $10 each. With that in mind Quickoffice is a bargain.
Honestly, I've found that the free Olive Office Premium works better for some uses than even some of the non-free office apps. I've used it on my G Tab with Thumb Keyboard, and it's pretty decent. Like I said, sometimes I use it even over the office suites I purchased, namely Quick Office and Documents to Go.
It's simply stupid that there is no port of Open Office to Android. There's no reason for it as far as I can tell.
Thanks for the tip, scyld. I still prefer QuickOffice, but this looks as good as it gets for free.
By the way- it seems to work fine using the Adam keyboard found elswhere on this board.

Actually, the quickoffice HD available on my site works wonderfully on the gtab froyo and ginger roms. I just used it to type out a very long letter to religious leaders.
Is it legal to distribute that (Quickoffice HD)? I just shelled out $20 for my copy (worth every penny).
The one I'm hosting is pulled from the NI adam tablet. It's a tablet oriented qoffice.
I'm trying out that QuickOffice HD from the site on the Flashback HC ROM and it force quits whenever I try to either open a file or browse for one.

There are two varients of QuickOffice HD. The version NI Adam version is ok for all ROMs (I think), but the purchase version is dubbed HD Pro and is only usable on HoneyComb and is slightly different than the standard HD version. I'll try and post screenshots later.
I saw that Adobe released a version of Photoshop for the Xoom. Anyone heard about them releasing it for Xoom?
.........huh?
While there isn't a full fledged Photoshop (currently?) out for Android, you can download Adobe Photoshop Express for free, just search it in the market.
Also, I see from some of your other posts that you seem to be trying to use the Xoom for some office purposes. I hate to be this guy, but don't get your expectations too high.

I think it works quite well for office use. I use mine daily for this very reason. Evernote, Touchdown, QuickOffice HD, Office Talk (MS Communicator) and PrinterShare (Printing from the Xoom) all great apps. QuickOffice HD doesn't do everything I need it to at the moment but I am sure before long it will be updated with more functionality.
According to Engadget:
As we said, no one's even confirming that this has any hope of breaching reality, but we're going ahead and making the outlandish assumption that Adobe's not just wasting our (and its own) time by showcasing this in public.

Adobe showed it off at their latest event.
Adobe demonstrates legitimate Photoshop capabilities on iPad
IMHO, the Adobe Express available in the Market, is a piece of crap. Real Photoshop needs to make its way to reality ASAP.

Yeah, I really only want light use. For anything substantial I would be better off remoting into Windows.

Yes, I was referring to the Adobe recent demo. I had read an article that mistakenly indicated it had already been released. I would think it would make more sense to release a Lightroom version to support the update where we get access to camera profiles. I would be thrilled to learn that they include .Raw file support but I am not holding my breath.
I am actually hoping that my Xoom will become a Liveview via direct tether (photography) more than anything. the potential to use ti for timelapse and other tethered field shooting is enormous.

Yes, I've used Xtralogic's newest version of RDP that's optimized for tablet use and it's actually pretty good. Much better than any VNC alternative.

+1 for Mantano. I paid for the "Premium" version, and it has been worth every cent.
I'm trying out mantano and it looks very good.
I've tried to export notes but I didn't get it to work.
Is there something special to know ?
I'm using adobe digital edition and I activated the option in the setting.

Which version of Mantano are you using? I tried to download it for playstore but it says it is not compatible with my device. Now I am trying to find some older version, but no success so far.
I can answer it myself: Finally I found an old version 2.2.11 that works well. Obviously the new 2.3.x versions are just not working.

Mine's stayed at an older v2.x. I can't check from here, but will this evening.
The older version still works well, with the quirk that it sometimes crashes back to the launcher when I try to generate covers when importing books. I import with no covers, then manually generate covers later and it's happy. Other than that, the older version works very well on the NST.

This question has been asked all the way back to the WP7 days and has been duplicated on this forum.. This is NOT possible. Your only option is to just buy an Android phone.
The main key is unlock bootloader, until we found it, i think it's almost impossible. Just my opinion.

So you installed and counted ALL the apps from WP marketplace and decided the count is just too small?
Samsung just did it with a new convertible laptop/tablet named Ativ Q. Seems that they could run Android on a VM over Windows 8. You can even put an android app link on the windows 8 desktop. Search it on youtube.

You don't need to count apps. Try to find a Google plus app or a good app.net app. Not possible. You have to go with webapps.
I'm very disappointed with WP8. It feels like Microsoft has already given up the platform and only Nokia is keeping it alive.

Try to upload an image with internet explorer on any website.
App.net is an ad free social network.
Alas, you can always use other browsers, not IE.

There is no other browser, all browsers on wp8 use the same rendering engine.
Anyone have any solution to use excel on nexus 10 ?
Wrong section, this is for accessories.
You can use excel on your tablet if you have an Office 365 Subscription, or if you dont have that you can use QuickOffice to make Google Doc spreadsheets.

I'm not sure that MS Office is supported on Android tablets.
Depending on what the OP needs, finding the right app could be trial and error. Quickoffice is good, I've been using it for quite a while back when it cost $20. I also use Kingsoft Office. Once you start getting into sheets with formulas, that's where compatibility starts to be an issue. Some sheets would open in both, one or none of the apps.
I've used Kingston office with no problems but I've heard it gets a little iffy as you go more in depth with the functions as mentioned above. I say give it a try because its free!

Not the best in my opinion, but certainly there.
