I know where my keys are.
Is there a way to completely disable the key backlight?

hey so i've broken my menu button after replacing my screen bezel. Is there anyway I can disable my stock messaging app without deleting it without using the menu button?
thanks
have you rooted your phone? because there is a root app which shows menu, home and back buttons onscreen, so you dont need to use buttons

I upgraded to this Rom recently and although like the keyboard the little microphone button for voice typing is gone. When I activated voice typing in the settings it says "Press microphone button or drag finger across keyboard." Microphone button doesn't exist and dragging longer across doesn't do anything.
I loved having the little Mic button and the button to activate handwriting recognition on the keyboard.
Anyone know how to at least get the voice typing to work??

Is it just the stock keyboard? If so I am guessing you've checked settings option to enable it?
Maybe you can re-flash the Stock 4.0.3 Keyboard if it is on there, I don't use Stock so not too sure..
Yeh im using the stock keyboard which is actually very nice to use but its missing the little mic button to activate voice typing and the button to activate handwriting recognition.

Figured it out. Long press the settings button and it brings up the additional keyboard features.

Hi all,
Ever since I have a GSA I have been searching for an option to change what happens when i press the menu button. Before i had a HTC One S and i really loved its application switcher. I was wondering if there is any way to get the application switcher open on pressing the menu button, and then show the menu on longpressing. I know that the CM10 diego is working on supports it but it is still in ALPHA so i do not want to install it for daily use. Anybody any idea how I would achieve this on any other ROM?
Thanks
System/usr.
Find keylayout file and edit it.

Sorry, should have mentioned. I already tried to do it through that file, but first of all. I couldn't find the key mapping that corresponds to our hardware key, and second, that leaves me without any functionality to get the options menu to appear since longpress is not handled in that file

Now that there is a pretty good cm10 build this issue has been solved for me

Does anyone know how to remap the harware buttons similar to what viper rom has as options? For instance long press back, home, and double press back and home. Also swipe up on home button. I would imagine that this is possible through smali edits in android.policy.jar but I don't know where or how at this point. If someone could help me I would really appreciate it. I love venom rom but I would like to atleast try out a few other options out there but I have found the remapping options with venom extremely had to give up.
Thanks, in advance

ViperOne can do this.

Nearly all of the custom roms and kernels for the One have remapping options. Are you trying to learn how to do this manually?
Also, the One only has capacitive back and home buttons, not hardware buttons like the Galaxy series.

No there are only a couple sense roms that have this option. As far as not being hardware buttons, it should be understood what I am referring to.
The only option that some kernels add is for HTC logo for menu

If you need to use the Volume to wake up your phone, you can use a custom ROM such as the latest version of Android Revolution HD. Also in this latest version, long pressing the home button acts as MENU.
If you need to assign a capacitive button to work as MENU you can use a custom Kernel such as Faux123. It gives you the option to use the HTC logo as MENU and to wake your phone using the Home button and Sleep using the long pressing the HTC logo.
If you need to use the Volume Keys to take pictures inside the camera app, you can use this mod
So a friend dropped his C5303 and the power button is now a little sticky.
Any way to turn the camera button into the power button?
Cheers
TIA
EDIT: This device isn't rooted and he'd have no idea how to!
Without rooting you are not able to remap buttons.
If he choose to root then he could use xposed frame work app and a module that would remap buttons or he can try using tasker....it is a paid app but has its own tasker help thread on xda.
