All ROMs currently listed are GSM ONLY.
CDMA ROMs are normally hosted at PPC Geeks.
This thread is a work in progress to list all current Rhodium ROMs and keep them updated.
Not sure how to flash? Looking at all these ROMs and drooling, but don't know where to start? Well, look no further. Let's get down to business. The first thing I'm going to tell you is to read. Read, read, read, read, read. Read until your eyes, bleed, then clean yourself off, and read some more. After all, you spent good money on this device, right? We wouldn't want that shiny new toy to become a shiny new paperweight because you couldn't be bothered to understand what you're doing, would we? So, without further adieu, make sure your device is fully charged, and let's begin.
Helpful jargon
SPL = Secondary Program Loader. This is what we refer to as the bootloader. The SPL is similar in function to the BIOS on your PC. It is responsible for loading the OS, and enabling the hardware functions. To get to this, you need to hold down the volume down button while turning the device on.
ROM = Read Only Memory. The Rhodium has 512MB of internal storage memory including the ROM storage. This is where everything you save or install lives if you use the internal storage. It is recommended to install apps to the SD card when possible to avoid filling up the internal memory.
RAM = Random Access Memory. The Rhodium has 256MB of program RAM and 32MB of radio RAM for a total of 288MB total RAM. This determines the amount of programs that you can have open at one time. The more RAM you have, the more things you can do at one time.
CPU = Central Processing Unit. The Rhodium has a 528MHz single core CPU. The CPU processes every bit of information that passes through your device. It is responsible for every calculation, file, or application you open. The higher the frequency of the CPU, the faster it can accomplish each task.
Flash = This is the basic term for loading a new ROM onto your device by means of USB or SD.
RUU = ROM Update Utility. This is the tool that flashes the ROMs to your device from your PC. You run this program and it translates the ROM image into usable files and folder systems on your device.
SD = Secure Digital memory card. The Rhodium supports up to 32GB capacity cards. Save your programs and files here when you can to save space on your internal storage.
A short list of common task commands.
task 0 = Hard Reset
task 8 = Soft Reset
task 28 = Flash a radio
task 29 = Wipes internal storage
task 32 = flash a ROM
Backing up Your Data
There are several ways you can back up your personal data. My personal favorite is with Sprite backup. However, this is only good for backing up the current ROM in order to re-flash the same exact ROM, unless you are experienced with it. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT use Sprite backup to move from one ROM to another. There are other backup solutions that offer "Full" or "Complete" backup solutions. Do not use those either to move between different ROMs.
Now, that we've got that out of the way, let's focus on the things you can use. First of all, we're going to want to protect all that valuable personal information such as contacts, text messages and so forth. Fortunately, there are several applications designed to do just that. One of them is PIM Backup. This application will backup all of your appointments, tasks, contacts, texts, emails, call logs, and speed dials. There, now we've got that covered.
Next, you'll want to backup the application data of your apps. Well, sorry to say that application data isn't very well organized in WM. Most of the information can, however, be copied from the \Program Files directory in the device. once you copy this directory, you can then install your apps on the new ROM, and then copy this over the other files to restore the data. This is not a 100% guarantee of success, though, because some apps use the registry to store information. If you are unsure how to backup a certain app, then simply provide the cab file here, and I'll take a look at it. If I know how to back it up, I'll try my best to walk you through it.
For some common applications and settings, you could also try using EXCT2. This program backs up changes to some popular settings and applications. It is in continuing development, and more features are being added as fast as they can be tested. It will backup things like the alarms, time settings, phone identity, Bluetooth identities, Wifi networks, Exchange partnerships, Facebook and Twitter integration for Sense users, and many other things.
If you have a question about backing something up, please ask about it. Myself or someone else will try to help you through it. Please understand that we are not here to do the work for you. We will assist you in getting on track, though.
Hard SPL
The first thing you'll need is to get your device Hard SPL'd. The SPL of your device is the Secondary Program Loader. It is kind of like the BIOS of your PC. Everything is controlled and loaded from here and then passed on to the OS. It comes to you locked so that only the official ROMs of your carrier or region can be flashed. In order to get around this, we need to unlock this restriction with a program called Hard SPL. It is called Hard SPL because it does not need to be re-flashed every time you want to load a new ROM. In the early days of development for this device, soft SPL was required to be used before any unofficial ROM could be loaded. Now, all you have to do is visit the following thread and get started. Please make sure to READ all the instruction and FAQ first. If you need help with that program, please ask for help in that thread.
Hard-SPL Unlocker for Rhodium (AT&T Tilt 2) Released and Updated! New FAQ added!
Picking a ROM
Download any ROM you want from this wonderfully organized thread. Don't worry, you don't have to stick with it, once you pick one. Now that you have Hard SPL on your device, you can flash ROMs to your heart's content. Now, that doesn't mean you should take your time; hurry and pick one so we can move on. I don't have all day.
Task29
Now that you've backed up your data, loaded Hard SPL, and picked a ROM, we need to clear your internal memory to get it ready to accept a new ROM. We're going to do this through a process called task29. task29 is like a memory wipe tool for your phone. It is going to erase every bit of data you have stored and format the internal memory so that there is nothing left behind to interfere with your brand new ROM. Please note that while this step is not required, it is strongly suggested that you do it.
task29 can ONLY be performed via USB. You cannot perform this action via SD. The *.nbh file included in the thread is either a radio or a splash screen that will flash. The task29 command is being run from the actual RUU.
Now, for those of you who may want a simpler way to do this, I've got you covered. In the attachments to this post, I've included a VERY simple tool that will do this and more without a fuss. All you have to do is run the application, select the task29 radio button, and hit next. It will guide you through the process without having to do anything else. You need to be connected via USB for this to work as well. This is the process I recommend and personally use, but the other task 29 application works just as well.
You may flash task29 from either Windows Mobile while connected via Active Sync/WMDC or boot into the bootloader by holding Volume Down and resetting your device. This will take you into the tri-colored bootloader. Plug your USB cable in, and wait for it to change from SERIAL to USB at the bottom of the screen, then begin the process.
EDIT: After performing a task29, your device will not boot past the splash screen. This is normal. You just erased everything on the device's internal memory, including the OS. It can't boot what isn't there. Turn off your device, and boot into the bootloader by holding the volume down button while it is powering on. This will set you up for the next step.
[TOOL] Task 29 (format internal Memory) without drivers, without mtty.
Flashing a ROM
There are two ways to flash a ROM. One way is to flash via USB, which is the normal way. If that gives you trouble, you can use the backup flashing method via the SD card. This section will detail both of them.
USB
Connect your device to the PC while in the bootloader (Hold Volume Down while resetting). The text at the bottom of the screen should change from SERIAL to USB. Please keep in mind that this is the only thing that needs to happen. If Windows wants you to install drivers, allow it to do so. You DO NOT need a connection to ActiveSync/WMDC in order for this to work. Now you can go ahead and run the RUU that came with the ROM you downloaded. It will run you through the steps leading up to the actual flash. Once the progress bar gets to 100%, it will automatically reboot after a couple of seconds. It will load the new ROM and you should be able to set it all up from here.
SD
Should you not be able to flash via USB due to a faulty USB port or some other reason, there is a backup solution - SD flashing. This works in a slightly more complicated manner, but is still very simple to do. The first thing you need to do is rename the *.nbh file that came with the ROM package you downloaded. Rename this file to RHODIMG.nbh. After that, put this file onto the root of your SD card. This means do not put it into any folder, just in the main directory of the card. After this, reinsert the card into your device, if you had to take it out to load it. Reboot into the bootloader. It should prompt you to press the volume up button to continue with the flash or power to cancel. Obviously we want to continue. It will flash the ROM and then reboot a couple seconds after it gets to 100%. The ROM should load and allow you to begin setting up. I suggest if you have the option to flash via USB, you do so.
EDIT: In either instance, the device may take a while to boot, or hang for a bit on the splash screen. This is normal. Don't panic.
All about Radios
Finally, the last thing you need to do is pick out a radio. There are several things to know about radios, and it might be better for you to just skip this if you aren't having any problems, as this part is not required at all.
Some chefs ask that you flash a certain radio in order to be compatible with the cooked in rilphone.dll. What is that, and why does it matter, you might ask? Well, I'm glad you did.
Rilphone.dll sits in between the radio ROM and the Microsoft RIL, or Radio Interface Layer. It acts as the translator for the information passed from the radio to the system. It determines what the radio ROM is trying to say to the RIL and vice versa. Let's say that the RIL issues a command to update the signal strength of the cellular radio's bars onscreen. The RIL would forward the request to the rilphone.dll, which would, in turn, ask the radio ROM what the signal was like. The radio ROM says that it has IV bars of service. The rilphone.dll translates that from Roman numerals into English and tells the RIL that it should display 4 bars to the user.
Now, there is a reason for updating the rilphone.dll to match the radio ROM used. Say a new feature gets added into the radio. For example, we'll use the most significant new feature, aGPS. If the rilphone.dll does not get updated to match the new radio, it is not even aware that this new radio command exits. You would, therefore, completely miss out on the new feature.
Some carrier specific rilphone.dll's have more features in them than the generic, or unbranded counterparts. I have seen several carrier specific features fly in and out of rilphone.dll's. I'm not going to list them here since the most annoying one is that the device will simply not display the correct carrier name sometimes.
So, basically, what I would suggest to you is that you take the time to use the current ROM you've just flashed. If you find that cell service is kind of crappy now, or that you aren't getting good Wifi, BT, or GPS signal, then try replacing the radio with a different one. It only takes a couple of minutes to flash a radio ROM, and they don't require you to back up ANYTHING! All you need to do is flash it, reboot, an then test it out for a few days. The main thing to concern yourself with is the battery life and cell signal you get with the new radio. The rest of the pieces should fall into play when those two work.
Things the radio ROM controls:
1. Cellular service
2. Cellular data speeds
3. Wifi signal and speeds
4. BT reception and transfer speeds
5. GPS location fix speed and general satellite reception
6. aGPS location services.
7. FM radio reception and quality in GSM devices.

I do not have a ROM version that does include CHT1.7.1 anymore.
JackFULL - CHT2.0
JackFULL legacy - CHT1.8.5.1
ManilaRUSH - CHT1.6.1
ShowLITE - without CHT
What's the point with writing every time "Sense version - 2.5" etc. if all roms listed in that category do have Sense 2.5 cooked in? Maybe the subversion number would be more helpful for users, eg. Sense 2.5.2018.

I'll be making it more detailed soon. I didn't have much time to work on it this weekend. I will update the CHT version for now, though. The Sense versions are from the original posting where they were all listed together. I will likely replace that with a "most recent build" date or something. Any suggestions, questions, and comments are always welcome.
Excellant Thread idea and execution...will be watching this one for sure...
this is as excellent as the other 2 or 3 threads that did this very same thing.
good luck!!

I took their idea and I'm going to hopefully add to it. I would like this to eventually be a sticky once it's finished. I've got a lot of work to do before it's ready, though. Featured ROMs and ROM reviews for each active one will be coming soon, I hope. I just need the time off to actually get those things done. The featured ROM is going to begin next weekend. I'll be preparing reviews for a few ROMs this week. I will try to keep this as updated as possible, but will rely heavily on the users of the ROMs to keep me current on most of these. This might even encourage new chefs or current ones to fill in gaps where there are fewer ROM types. Who knows? I'm going to do my best to make sure this thread doesn't get lost in the fray, though.

Sure, just my 2 cents
Suggestions
Does anyone have suggestions for this project? My current plans are to add a "most recent build" date instead of a Sense version to each ROM. I also want to write up short reviews on each one listed. If chefs want to write that for me, then be my guest. I basically want to let users know the main purpose of the ROM's design and what the ROM is built for. Some are made for speed, while others are made for looks or stability. I was thinking of keeping it under 50-75 words for each one.
Does anyone have any other ideas for this? There have been a few threads like this in the past, but none have succeeded. I wish for this to be a place for new users to come and see which ROM they might like and to ask their "which ROM is best" questions here than starting new threads. I'm looking for any ideas you guys might have on this.
Also, if someone who is decent with Photoshop can design a banner for the first post to showcase the featured ROM of the week, that would be great. I'm not too picky, just be creative. I've already got the first featured ROM in mind, I just need to flash it and get a review written for the weekend.
The brief summary is a good start for newcomers. It will save a lot of time searching. Another possible good option would be to include how much free RAM and free space there is on each install. When I look through ROM's, that is a nice thing to know sometimes as well.
Maybe goals for each rom should be listed too?
Some people search for the best graphics experience, others for speed or lowest ram usage.

I recently discovered that there is now a file in the Uploads/Blueangel/ directory of the xda-developers FTP named BA_1.40_radio_1.20_untested_extrom.rar
The file (and the contents extracted) can now be found here:
ftp://xda:[email protected]_Updates/BA_1.40_radio_1.20_untested_extrom
(EDIT MDAIIIUser: Moved file and corrected link)
This is a Generic 1.40 Rom with cabs from 1.40.110 Extended Rom.
I would like to thank whoever put this file up.
Note that the extrom folder in the archive contains some cabs that would not be included in a standard extended rom (eg SPB GPRS Monitor, the Extended Rom unlocker, etc), as well as some updated HTC cabs, so it is a requirement to cook your Extended rom yourself.
The cabs not natively a part of the 1.40.110 Extended Rom are:
AudioPatch_Media.CAB
CprogHook.WM2003_2577.CAB
dsp_en.cab
GPRSMonitor_2.20_WWE_BA_20041011.sa.CAB
TotalCmd.arm.CAB
xda-developers_Unlocker.CAB
Examples of HTC Extended Rom Upgrades found in this archive:
Old Album: 2.51 Build 16894
New Album: 2.51 Build 18454
Old 1.20 Photo Contacts: 1.20 Build 17957
New Photo Contacts: 1.20 Build 19167
The new Album now opens Photo Contacts 1.20 with the assign to contact command, where it previously did not.
The radio rom included in the archive is 1.12, it seems to be MDAIIIUser's 1.12 Type I Radio Rom.
The 1.40 nk.nbf is seemingly Type I: it will work with the old xda3nbftool.
This rom has Windows Media Player 10, and it seems to be a bit better on the battery. Mamaich (in a post below) has already found some issues, however. (Typical)
UPDATE:
The MMS cab file (CAB-ArcsoftMMS-20022-Magician-Generic-ENU-08Mar05.cab) included in this update causes the hardware phone end button to lock up many people's blue angels during a call. It is highly recommended that you do not use this new cab, and install the older version instead, accessable here:
ftp://xda:[email protected] Media Messaging/MMS_2.0.0.16_BA_1123.CAB
Just flashed the NK.NBF (CE ROM) portion on my PDA2k.
Boots up fine as 1.40.00 WWE on diagnostics screen.
Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition, version 4.21.1088 (Build 15045.2.6.0).
Device Information page shows:
ROM version: 1.40.00 WWE
ROM date: 03/10/05
Windows Media Player 10.0 build 15045.
Camera applet integrated in ROM, version 2.21 (build 19307)
Broadcom Bluetooth 1.0.0 build 3900, same versions across all Bluetooth files.
Single "G" icon.
All seems well.
Now, I'm going to piece back the Extended ROM with my customizations and get it going.
This ROM has several minor problems. For example ringer.wma sounds ugly, backlight is maximal after you leave camera app, but it seems that this ROM drains battery a bit less then previous versions, even with 1.12 radio ROM.
To fix camera you can replace camera.exe with a version taken from old ROM, I use EXE from 1.31
And this ROM supports 2 different camera chips: ADCM2650 (old, my device has it) and OV7660. So maybe it is designed for new BAs with an improved camera. Though both chips are limited at 640x480.
Album_BlueAngelAKU26_Generic_WWE_RC20.CAB, Album application
AudioPatch_Media.CAB, changes audio priority to 80
BA_OEM_PA_Remove_WiFi_Logo.sa.CAB, remove extraneous Wi-Fi logo from top status bar
BA_Version_140.CAB, embeds version number for Device Information applet
Broadcom-Corporation-BT-PPC-AV-Upgrade.cab, apparently upgrades Bluetooth stack
Button9.CAB, programs extra button on slide-out keyboard
CAB-ArcsoftMMS-20022-Magician-Generic-ENU-08Mar05.cab, MMS add-on for Messaging applet
Caller_ID_BlueAngelAKU26_Generic_WWE_RC20.CAB, IA Caller ID
CprogHook.WM2003_2577.CAB, related to Phone applet (?)
CV2.41.386_wwe.CAB, ClearVue PowerPoint and PDF Viewer
Default_JMM101257_WWE_1004.CAB, Java Midlet Manager
dsp_en.cab, "Bass & Trable [sic]" (?) (likely customized)
GPRSMonitor_2.20_WWE_BA_20041011.sa.CAB, GPRS monitor
KSE_Fax_v2.09_BA_WWE_0720_unremovable.CAB, KSE Fax for CSD
MIDI561.sa.CAB, MIDI ringtone support
SetDefaultSMS.CAB, default to SMS in Inbox
TotalCmd.arm.CAB, Total Commander (likely customized)
VideoMMSB12_BA.sa.CAB, Video MMS applet
xda-developers_Unlocker.CAB, Extended ROM tools (likely customized)
So what improvements is this rom supposed to have?
(I've installed it now)
mamaich, how can you tell what camera chip a BA has?
Broadcom-Corporation-BT-PPC-AV-Upgrade.cab - adds HID and high quality audio BT profiles
CprogHook.WM2003_2577.CAB - my program, adds "contacts" button to dialer, it is not the latest build
dsp_en.cab - adds "bass&treble" customization, it works on BA and Magician devices
I don't know what are the improvements in this ROM, except that it should be more stable (because it has a newer kernel build with MS patches integrated), it has a built-in 3900 BT, so you don't need to install it and lose about 1Mb of storage space, has WMP10, and this ROM is produced by HTC (or MS) and not created from other ROMs parts like I did with 1.33.51 ROM.
I have not tested the sound quality over BT headset, maybe it is improved.

It does not touch your extended rom. I would recommend cooking your rom first, then installing the upgrade.
Thanks, mamaich for your answers.
could someone be kind enough to advise
I have tried to read through pages and pages of threads to sort out my problem....
I have been helping pass on the knowledge I have learned from you guys to others when I see them ask... and understand how it must frustrate when people ask already answered questions..
BUT.. I cannot find the answers and I am sure the answer will help many people....
I have downloaded this ROM and would dearly like to use it. I have however a number of questions if I may..:
1) I like what I see in the extended rom on this download can I just use it.. if so how and can you see any problems?
2) I cannot seem to use the rom as it sais wrong country error. I have read may threads and have downloaded xda3nbftool as described by them but cant seem to understand how to fix the file for my country code.. I have the information and this is as follows.....
Model = Ph20B
Minor version =OB
Language code = WWE
Minor = R
Operator code = O2_001
Rom version =1.31.00
Minor = 00
Extended Rom version = 1.31.139 WWE
Radio version = 1.12.00
Please help guys I am sure there will be many people struggling as I am.
thanks in advance
Stay happy
Magpie2000k
magpie2000k, I do not recommend using the current extended rom. Some of the cabs are retail software, and unless you are willing to pay for them, you will be installing time-expiring trials. One of the included cabs is even corrupted. That doesn't even take into account that carrier customization is missing, among other things. I would recommend taking the time to understand how to cook your rom properly and then make your own rom using some of the cabs included so that it properly fits your needs.
As for installing the CE Rom upgrade, I can be of help to you for that. First, since you already have the 1.12 Rom installed, remove the radio_.nbf file that is included in the archive, so that it doesn't unnecessarily upgrade again.
OK, now extract the attached rar file and put them in the same folder as the upgrade, then run fix.bat. Then run BAUpgradeUT.exe and voila.
One again, however, I stress that you should cook your rom before doing this.
Thanks
You are a star.. I take it using the fix bat you created for me the change from my details.... very kind of you..
I have tried to cook the rom. have read and thought I understood all of what was on wiki I have read every page, but when I do what I think it sais it doesnt work.. for instance I want to put the Audio patch enclosed in the supplied extended rom and it doesnt happen when I try and change the config text file it wont save it.. I have unlocked extended rom etc etc etc..
I feel that when I eventualy learn I will write a very very simple version of how to do it and put it up as reference to all...
If you can help in any way on that I would greatly appreciate it..
To all that dont know THE LASTONE is a star
stay happy
Once again thanks

The ugly sound of ringer.wma is caused by the new album application. I tried installing another Album version (older) and the sound of ringer.wma is different! So, maybe they think that this sound as we hear it is more beautiful????
Funny that the Album messes with .wma files...strange, but funny.
But oh well, we all know how funny the BA can behave sometimes...
Jep, I really don't get it right, but it seems to do with any of the dll's installed. Something about that, but why??? Eat me.....
By the way, Happygoat and others. Today I talked to the dealer right here in the Netherlands and the told me they would send me the upgrade on CD to me tomorrow or monday. They confirmed that the version was
ROM1.40
Radio1.12
Ext ROM 1.40.110
Hope I will receive it soon!
That's good. I guess we can use it to ensure we have all the proper extended rom stuff.
Thanks, j_metselaars.
As allready mentioned, there are some minor probs with a few applications in this Extended_ROM.
The most annoying bug is the camera. When used, it sets to the highest brightness, and doesn't set back to your default brightness after use. I cooked the FixCamera_18157.sa into my Extended_ROM, it sets the camera-app back to the build 2.21B18157 from the 1.33.51-Mamaich-ROM, but it works allright.
Remember, when cooking, that the CprogHook.WM2003_2577.CAB (by Mamaich) and the AudioPatch_Media.CAB will need you to tap away the "This was build for a previous ...". Don't disable your touchscreen in the case you will be using one of these programs (= don't execute the "EXEC:\Extended_ROM\TPDisable.exe" in your 'Config.txt' hidden in your Extended_ROM).

I've not used the very latest rom yet, but the best Dshow seem to be from the 2nd quartz rom.
So you've got an X1 now? Are you likely to be getting involved in the android dev for it?

2. also in settings tab, my contact card does not do anything.
3. and also in home tab, the camera soft key is not working.
4. the hardware keyboard is messed up.
other than that it works great & fast including in landscape mode.
will still test some more with this new kitchen.
thanks again.

Excellent job!!! I'm looking forward to the WM6.5 kitchen. I wanna see if i can put the new tfl3d on it.
yes it really is superb, the new manilla has some of the same errors as ITJE's beta 1.
Contacts mainly, but otherwise it's very well done. build is very easy.
OH and it does work in WM7, it's just some of the tools used need setting to be vista compat mode (running as admin helps as well).

I think there is a deeper issue with the contacts tab because tfl3d still crashes when u do certain things in the contacts tab. I wonder if we are missing something important....

Since I desperately needed a WM6.1 with a higher build than the standard 19199 for work, I set out to learn how to cook a higher build rom. After 3 days of work and a bunch of failed roms I did it. This is my very first cooked working rom. Seems pretty stable. Please review and mention any bugs....One bug to mention is that OneNote installs itself into another "Office Mobile" folder creating an extra Office Mobile folder.
Congratulations! Do you think it is possible to build a wm6.5 rom with this kitchen or is it straight wm6.1?
Greetings

What post has easiest directions for installing ROM? Flashing phone is needed? but not sure what that entails or requires (sofware?)...
after short test:
- in programs is folder Office mobile multiple
- missing skin for Windows media
- bottom bar sometimes is not changing skin or on click show old skin
+ storage free 53Mb
+ palm messaging etc.
keep work and good luck to next relase
What about WM6.5? Can you cook WM6.5? because Veisen ROM is only beta.

Look for the Unlocking and Unbranding post. It has the easiest directions for unlocking you phone and putting on the HardSPL for flashing custom ROMS
as for installing custom roms on a phone already HardSPL'ed just use that flasher I included in the download.

Thanks for the feedback. TO add to the list of bugs for this version, I found that with SPB Mobile Shell 3 and HTC Home installed, after making a phone call it seems to have a memory leak.

Hello,
I'm looking for latest ROM (Example: Build 23542) but I don't want any addins or customiztions like HTC, TF3D etc. etc...
I see people regulary post roms, and they mark it as "pure, clean etc." but in real there are always customizations and they are not clean at all..
How does this system work? Where do they find the initial state of the ROM and they add their customizations?
I want the initial state only but the latest rom to flash with storage card method?
Thanks,

Well.......a custom cooked ROM got some ingredients:
1 - SYS | system files from MS, for example 23544
2 - XIP | part from SE and OS build from MS
3 - OEM| programs and driver stuff from SE
Before you can build a ROM you'll a base that is dumped from a official SE ROM.
After that you'll replace the SYS and MS part of XIP with the latest built, for example 23544.
If you want a clean ROM you'll need to strip all the things you don't want and aren't needed from SYS and OEM.
Now you can start customizing the ROM.
So you see, you can't download a clean built which is ready to flash. It always comes down on the chef porting the newest built to X1 and each chef has it's own preferences they put in the ROM.
If you really want to use the latest and cleanest ROM you'll need to read a lot (and I mean a lot) so you can built it yourself.

Or where can I download from Microsoft, and can I rename it to kovsimg.nbh and flash to x1 with storage card method?

As I said you'll have to do it yourself, find someone to do it for you or use the ROMs present.

Yes, but first I'd like to know how I can flash the NBH-file to my device. I'd like to know how I can make a RUU.

The link will come as soon as I've been able to put the NBH in a RUU and flash my device without problems
EDIT: I've been able to update my device to my own ROM. I'm very happy with this ;D Now I can start working on my ROM. I'll upload the file(s) and post instructions in the first post.
Released!
Version 1.03 has been released! You can see what's changed in the changelog in post #2. The download link can be found in the first post.

Screenshots have been added now
WWE version available! See #1
Enjoy!
Thanks to Rastamans tips, I'll continue developing on this ROM.
I'm right now testing this software to be built in later:
- Opera 10 (and remove Opera 9.7.x)
- TCPMP player
- CHT Home Tab 2.0.0 Bèta HVGA
I'm thinking about dropping WWE, because I've received no reaction on the WWE.

Hi, first I really have to do a lot of reading about Roms etc I have just started using my Mini. So sorry if I have some newbie questions .
I was wondering would it be nice to make a version without the HTC Sense and all integrated apps? Its nicer to make a cab directory through which you can install all external cabs from the external memory card. It also makes it easier to update programs like Opera without having duplicate files.
Is CHT Home Tab relying on HTC Sense?
Secondly, the WWE version, is the only difference the language pack?
Some additions for a possible new rom. I would really like a Rom without all the 'useless' apps, like twitter, facebook etc.
A Rom which is speed an battery power optimized .
These are only things I was thinking about, of course I understand that this is difficult to implement.
If I drop Sense, I drop a lot of functionality of the HTC mini. Sense is more than only the plugin in the home screen. That's why I don't like to remove it.
The WWE version is just an English version instead of a Dutch one.
I don't know how I can make a Cab directory yet
Facebook is already removed out of my ROM
And last but not least, CHT really needs HTC Sense, because it is an integrated tab.
Hope this helps
i can see why you can't just remove sense, but is it possible to exclude a few parts of it?
I'm using spb mobile shell (much better and faster than sense and even cht) which would be perfect on top of a standard winmo. However a lot of settings and apps are depending on sense, so it'll come down to finding the right balance I guess

Indeed but if you don't like Sense and just want to use SPB Mobile Shell, go to Settings tab in Manila => Menu => More => Home screen => Items => Deactivate HTC Sense.
PS: Working hard on a new version of this ROM. Takes a little longer than expected as I messed up version 1.08 and had to restart all over again
mad rom 1.6 wwe does not have a ruu.nbh file.............

Hmm, indeed, when you download the file and save it, it loses it's extension. So you should add ".zip" at the end of the file. Then you have a zip-file, and you can unpack it. There would be an NBH file and a SSPL.EXE file
thanks Matt........thanks for the reply.........i have a vodafone branded rom so can I flash it directly with this rom............
yes i know, that's exactly what i've been doing since a few weeks after i got my mini
What I meant was could you disable and exclude something like the messaging app so it won't interfere with the standard wm messaging app?
Texting is really becoming a pain in the ass (not receiving or sending messages randomly) and it's making me want to get another phone instead...
And i really like my mini
