I am using Darky's Rom after switching over from Speedmod. It's great, except I am not sure how to enable backlight notifications on Darky's Rom. I am booting into the recovery CWM menu, but do not see the option to enable it?
I'm running Darky's v7.6 and I had tested both:
Blinky_v2.3.apk from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=854721
and
i9000_BacklightNotification_v2.3.1_update.zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=813389
They are working, haven't found any problems yet. The custom kernels removed the built in CWM Recovery and the Nexus S boot animation.
Great, thank you.

So I'm on an i9000m that has had recovery enabled since purchase.
Anyway, I've been pretty confident with flashing it since I got it. Run a lot of firmwares etc... then finally went to CM6 Beta 3 and then tried CM7.
CM7 was super buggy though so I tried flashing JPY with heimdall. When I flashed JPY, it would go straight to recovery with some format errors. SO I figured it was because I previously had voodoo lagfix, and I put the voodoo kernel on.
Now the issue is, it works till the boot animation then goes to a black screen and buzzes like it's FCing. I don't think it's a fault with the internal memory because I can access it through CWM.
I can go to recovery and I can flash back to CM7, and it'll work. ALbeit with all the issues in CM7 right now.
Any ideas?
yes,
give Darky's ROM Resurrection Edition
a try, after that flash again to full Darky's 9.2 via cwm
that should hopefully do the trick

That worked wonders. Hopefully the CM7 bugs will be worked out soonish. It flies.
this really helps!!
tried EzBase before, but it got stuck. so its nice to have another lifesaver
btw I tried flashing EZBase over MIUI, because I got sick of its battery drain and bad video recording. Its very nice and smooth though... too sad
After installing GalaxyROM_v14 I have weird display during boot after custom FW install
See picture.
Any idea?
I think it's sometimes caused by the custom kernel. I've seen similar behavior during boot on some custom kernels. If everything works otherwise, it's nothing to worry about.
I get something similar when booting into recovery with DamianGTO's kernal.
Sent from my GT - I9000M running Tornado JVR Gold with Tornado kernel.
I also get this when i try and open some apps/games but then it runs normally afterwards
That would normally be associated with a voodoo kernal.
Now i have tried installing cwm through rom manager and successfully installed it, now if I go into the recovery mode through rom manager it shows the new recovery but if I go into the recovery mode through the combo (volume up button home button and power button) it goes back into the old recovery ie dark core recovery, so that means I have two recoveries in my sgs? Please help, thanks in advance
uninstall rom manager i read somewhere it doesnt work verywell .
ok, then please tell that how can i update this dark core recovery to the latest cwm recovery???
Installing CWM-recovery with Rommanager doesn´t work with the SGS. You have to flashe another Kernel which already includes the Clockworkmodrecovery I don´t know which CWM-Version the DarkCore has but i tried different Kernels an they all had Version 3. If you are on a Gingerbread Stockrom you can try flashing the Semaphore Kernel(Root+a lot of different Improvements). This one I had for a long time. I think it included CWM V 3. Now I'm on Teamhacksungs ICS and I have V5
i am using darky's rom 10.2 and i have to shift to cm7.1 so thats why i have to update my recovery to cwm latest... didn't know how to flash kernel in my phone, coz my friend did all that, and i am a noob
Hi, any input greatly appreciated.
I am using a rooted Samsung GT-I9000 running CM10.1 and Devil Kernel.
I flashed CM10.2, the most recent nightly, and everything worked fine. However, I have the persistent problem that I cannot hear anything when using a headset to make phone calls.
So I wanted to change the Kernel - I flashed both Mackay Kernel and CyanCore. The phone booted but I kept getting a crash message phone could not start and had to remove the battery, boot into recovery and reflash 10.1 to make it work again.
Has anyone has this issue?
Try again with new mackey
Hi
Today after restoring my backup of Android 4.0 i noticed that home button is not working. I was on latest Omni 5.1 so i flashed stock via Odin and then custom kernel and restored my backup. I still can get into recovery and download mode using 3 buttons combo but in cwm home button isn`t working just like after booting into android. When i was on Omni 5.1 i have disabled hardware buttons and enabled navigation bar and didn`t reenabled it before flashing stock if it is important. Now home button is not working no matter if it`s stock ROM, 4.0 or 5.1. Could it be hardware problem even if i can get into download mode and recovery? Or maybe i can fix it some way?
Thanks for reading this and i hope someone is able to help.
@rootingguide did you use the same kernel you used previously to create the nandroid backup? Otherwise when you flashed stock firmware did you use also the repartition and pit512 file?
