I have it set to "when screen turns off" yet it stays on even when the phone is off. I'm using the FireFly rom with speedmod kernel. How can I fix this?

Check in firefly rom section. I think this is a known issue in that rom, but i can be wrong too. And the default timeout for wifi to be turned off after screen goes off is 15 min.

Yeah I just noticed it turns off after 15 min. Is there anyway to adjust that?

Nope. Its the android standard.
Try using "super power" from market. it lets u choose when to get wifi to sleep, along with a lot other settings.

Hi,
I have enabled my device to auto lock when the power button is used. But a side effect of this seems to be that sometime the device auto locks itself after 1 min when the screen is still active.
I have searched the device (and this forum) but the locatrion of the setting for adjusting the autolock time has eluded me.
Can anyone point me in the correct direction before i go insane
Hi where did you set up auto lock with power button using. I can't find out this option. Thanks

Settings / System / Power / Advance tab - I believe what is happening is the phone is set to turn off after 1 minute, though when the lock is set it locks after the first minute then turns off a minute later. this is just a guess.

Settings / Lock then set a password
Hi, harolds thanks for your quick reply, but I've thought auto locking without password. Something like autolock when backlight is turned off.

You can try HD Tweak which has this option.

Hi, thanx for reply. I know that tweak, it works with backlight and in my D2 it sometimes works strangely. I hoped you wrote about tweak which works when you push power buton only.
Is there an App that can change the WiFi sleep time from 15 minutes to say 10 seconds or whatever? Such an app existed before with RyanZa's app for his lagfix, but I haven't seen it since he disappeared.
10 seconds? Why not just have it turn off when the screen goes off?

Or you could go into Wifi Settings and hit Menu -> Advanced -> Wifi Sleep Policy. Or just download Spare Parts and change it.

The WiFi is still on for another 15 minutes, because that's what Android/Samsung has it set to. It doesn't matter what the sleep policy is.

Where is it in Spare Parts? I don't see it.

In Spare Parts, there should be an option for "Wifi Sleep Policy".
Nope not in mine. My Spare Parts app came with FireFly. Maybe it needs to be updated or something...
Since I installed 7.1 stable my nook always turn screen on when charging, even though the stay away option is unchecked. I already turned it on and off again, but still turns on.
Also I think it is related to SoD because it sometimes happens when I disconnect.
Thanks

That is absolutely normal behavior. You can manually turn screen off after plugging it in by briefly pressing the power button.
It is a workaround for a kernel bug. Just remember to click the power button when you plug it in.

Is anyone else experiencing this? I read quite a bit on my phone and usually keep it set at 1-2 mins but it always resets back to 15 seconds ;s

The postman delivered this house brick from Korea this morning. My daughter bless her little cotton socks has bought me this Note to replace my HTC(theres nothing wrong with my HTC). I have tried since 10am this morning to adjust the screen time and as with you it just will not have it, my HTC and my laptop are set up so that when plugged into the mains they stay on but this big bugger won't and an additional problem is that even though it is charging the battery is falling like beer down a miners throat.

Okay so I came across this issue today and I've figured out how to solve this. You must have enabled power saving mode at certain %. If you did go to custom power saving settings ---> screen timeout and change it to how long you want it on. You must also change the same time under display ----> screen timeout to what ever you chose under power saving mode. To test it restart the phone and go back under display and should see your last picked timeout minutes. :good:

You are lucky! My Galaxy S4 keeps resetting to 2 seconds! That doesn't even give you time to keep going to settings and changing it to 30 seconds or minute... Any fix for this annoying problem?
I noticed this was happening even with my power saving turned off. As deziking had posted, for me the fix seemed to be changing the settings in the "Power Saving" menu options. Mine was set to "immediately". Changing my Power Saving to kick in at 5% battery power seems to have remedied the problem.
Hope this helps.
Go to settings, device care, press the 3 circles at top right of screen, tap auto device optimisation and turn it off.
Hey guys, for some reason my screen timeout keeps switching back to 15 seconds no matter what I choose. I keep selecting 1 minute and it will go back to 15 seconds as soon as I exit settings.
Anyone else have this issue?
Thanks!
Mine stays at whatever I set it at. Do you have it on power save mode maybe? Or something similar?

It ended up being an app I had installed. I removed Hi Locker and Light Manager and the issue went away. Not sure which one it was but I'm assuming it was Hi Locker since I reinstalled Light Manager since then and it's still working fine.
Thanks!
No issues here
Yeah mine does not have this issue so maybe it is a setting somewhere that you accidentally enabled?
