[Q] about galaxy s i9000 update

i updated my galaxy s to froyo and after i did lagFix but just wondering if i can update it when 2.2.1 comes out with out restoring it like nexus one??? can some one help plzzzzzzzzzzz

which lagfixdid you apply?
how did you update to Froyo? kies, odin etc
2.2.1 is already out btw

I upgraded to 2.2.1 via Kies after disabling the Voodoo lagfix. After the update I was so happy with the speed of the phone that I did not reinstall the lagfix yet.

I use raynz lagfix so do i have to remove to so kies can find update. Also am in new zealand

Search for registry hack on xda.
You can use the 2.2.1 for UK, or wait for your country update, just remember to disable lagfix.
In reg hack use the the xeu version, kies will see the phone as an unbranded uk.
All your apk and settings should remain intact after update and the phone flies, NO lagfix anymore

[Q] can we go back to 2.2.1 official rom after darky?

Hi Guys,
I own a I900 since 2 months. I updated to 2.2 last month and I am not happy since then. I am very tired of the wait of 2.2.1 Indian version.
I have been reading abt Darky's ROM 9.3 and it seems that people are very happy with it.
My question is that if I flash my phone (I hope thats the terminology) to Darky's 9.3 then will I'll be able to go back to official Indian 2.2.1 when it releases?

Probably but after using Darky and not liking it you will need to flash stock firmware via Odin .

After using darky or other rom u need to flash the new rom via odin with repartiton box enabled aka full wipe.(at least this is how i'll do it)

[Q] Uppgrading to 2.3?

Right now i got 2.21 jpy(speedmod kernal lagfix tweaks etc ) and i want to uppgrade via Kies! What do i have to do before i uppgrade?

The update was pulled back because it had some problems.
If you want the original 2.3.3. rom make sure you go back to stock rom.
To prevent problems.

No current 2.3 Firmware on Kies server ..##

you could also switch to AOSP builds such as cyanogenmod 7 or muiu... great roms btw and both GB (2.3.3 or 2.3.4)

[Q]Wich CF-Root kernel for RSJV3 ?

I 've updated my SGS to the official Gingerbread released via Kies for Italy, which is RSJV3, i need to root it to be able to use my backup (done with Titanium backup). AFAIK Super one click is not working with Gingerbread so I looked at CF-Root, which has a ton of versions, which is is right one for me?

Same problem here.
It looks like gingerbreak and psnuter don't work with v. 2.3.3 and we have to wait for a new release of cf-root supporting JV3

This may be a dumb questions but I cant seem to find one, is there a stock gingerbread wifi only version available anywhere to flash on my tab?

Will gingerbread update work straight from the tab settings->status->update or will the update have to be flashed on?

You can upgrade to Gingerbread from KIES when Gingerbread will be available.
But you must have official stock firmware installed.
OR
You can flash your Froyo and then install Gingerbread.
