yall might be thinking about the eu rom that came out but this should be different since its for the tablet...
I don't recall Sammy ever releasing anything to do with Froyo before this.. not sure how it's old news but also not sure how it can help the SGS owners since its for their tablet/pad
hey good find... don't bother with the negativity!!! lets keep it positive!!! good job maybe someone can use it.. you never know...
Maybe Someone could do it, but i see problems due to Resolution differences between the Samsung Tab and the Vibrant.

SGS is 480x800
Tablet is 600x1024
Some in the Captivate forums were noticing all the files associated with the tablet had that set as the resolution.
Think I might do some work to see what I can do for it... I'm on a Captivate, so I'm not sure how it'd help out the Vibrant, but I'll see what I can do.

Indeed they do. I was right buddy:

what they are posting on different tech sites is probably incorrect like he said the firmware is associated with a higher resolution
Why don't some brave soul just flash the firmware already? Lol. I'd do it but I'm already at my return limit for returns at Tmobile.

I flashed it onto my captivate, and it doesn't get past the boot screen, which looks like a broken tv(black and grey lines moving across the screen with a somewhat legible gt-p1000 logo). Flashed back to stock with no problems though.

All reports so far show that its basically the phone.. same processor, innards, screen, ect, exept for the resolution. What would be super deee duper if someone could figure out a way to be able to flip resolutions back n forth on the fly like we do on our computers... why? i dunno... just to piss off another iphone user i guess.. lol.

Supply and demand. At one point they couldn't get enough AMOLED screen so they opted to use SLCD
It's a matter of preference. Personally I have the AMOLED but I'd much prefer the SLCD. My eyes are overly sensitive to the dark black contrast. Plus it looks smoother up close compared to the Pentile matrix.

As I understand it, that's an AMOLED one, specifically a European AMOLED one.
The reason you get permission denied after typing su is because you don't actually have root, duh
but I've install Titanium Backup and it says that it gain root!!!
I've followed this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=736271
I suppose the other option is that adb has been denied superuser access? Check the app and see.
It will be listed in it as 'unknown'
sorry man, I'm a noobie! How can I check this?
Check your app drawer for an app called Superuser, it will have a skull & crossbones or a ninja (older version) as it's icon.
In there you can see what's been granted or denied permissions for root access.
I have the app (ninja version) but once opened it's black!
I tried to use Universal Androot 1.6.2 beta 5 and it gain root and after the app Superuser Permission become a skull and in the first page Apps allow there's only Superuser permission.
Now if I try again "adb shell"
su
always:
Permission denied!
When you type su, you are watching the phone for the allow/deny prompt right? If not it will auto deny after 10 seconds.
I'm a ****ing noobie!!!
So sorry! I had an HTC Magic and it wasn't like that.
Last question, now can I install Amon_RA version 2.0 or only recovery-RA-nexus-v1.7.0.1.img ??
Thank you very much for your patience and kindness!
Amon_RA v2.0 works just fine

ISP LCD vs Super Amoled Plus.
That isn't even fair.
Super Amoled's already beat it.

Because more than 5 points multi touch is needed on a phone?

Or the sony ericsson x10 mini pro who has a multitouch driver but the licence is only limited to singletouch.hardware is fine but it will not or can not be supported. Having a 10 or unlimited touch screen does not really matter at all its what is supported by the company what counts.

Hello all!
I've picked my Nexus 7 today from CPW, even though I knew of the existing screen issues. Before buying it I had the time to have a quick look at it, just to make sure hardware wise was fine. Well yes, it was fine, but the colors are not calibrated. I know it's not a new thing, but at least it's not a hardware problem (or at least I hope it's not! ).
I was wondering if any of the apps/mods available in the forum/play store can actually help with the colours of the screen? I know a few years back Nexus One had issues with colour calibration and Nook as well, and there were a few mods developed which helped with the problem.
I'm happy with my nexus and I don't really want to return it, as the new one might have excellent colours but other issues would be present.
Would appreciate some suggestions or we could simply start a discussion on the topic and what could be done about calibrating the colours.
p.s. Apologies if this is not the right thread!
I would try trinity kernel, if u flash his kernel and buy his app u can do what u want to the colors. Its still alpha tho. Im using it on my gnex and its awesome.

Screen Adjuster helps a little, but doesn't do anything about the poor gamma. And unfortunately it makes the UI a little laggy. So probably not worth it. I haven't seen anything else so far.

I must be seriously lucky, the screen on my Nexus 7 is brilliant. I have the Evo LTE, and I'm accustomed to nice screens. I get tons of compliments every day by people looking at my tablet and saying how crisp the colors and text are. I'm usually the one with the issues, but the sun shines on a dogs ass every now and then.
Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it now and i could actually achieve satisfying results but as u said the performance is seriously affected! At least this proves the colours can be fixed with software. I hope Google comes up with a fix of some sort !

I shined a light on my dog's ass and I saw no improvement in color response. What other steps did you take?
The gamma on mine is way off (down around 1.2 at 48% for me), but as I posted before the colour temp (on mine at least) seems excellent. Swings and roundabout I suppose. Unfortunately Android doesn't have colour management baked into the OS (neither does iOS) so there's no really practical solution at present. If you want proper calibration on a tablet sometime soon I guess the only option would be to get one of the x86 Win8 tablets at the end of the year.

I think CM ROMs usually offer calibration in the display menu? I think the upcoming CM10 will have it
My cellphone is more vibrant
But it has an amoled display. I usually run the Nexus at 25%, to save battery and because I find it too bright ( indoors anyway) to keep looking at it when it,s at 75 - 100%. If they do send a OTA fix, I might have to drop it down to 10%
Here's a screen shot at 25%. I don't know if a screen shot is accurate to show my screen brightness, but I'm good with the brightness and color.

That was until I visited digitalspy.co.uk 's mobile website.

I have attached an image.

Same here. Don't have it on anything else, so would assume its the website. Must be an issue with Android's version of Chrome.

This! The screenshot takes a snapshot of what the software is pushing. Not what is physically being displayed. If your screen was shattered. A screenshot would still come out perfect. If the software is showing a line that means its the site. If that makes any sense...

Yes that one looks like a hardware defect since it persists throughout everything. You are fine
