GT & PC sharing connection - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
i have a pc with Win7 and a GT
My PC is connected to the internet and i was wondering if i can share internet connection with Galaxy tab connected through USB.
I can't understand if i need a program (like activesync) or simply galaxy tab's drivers for win7
Thanks

Up & Update
i've tried on a PC with WinXP and Kies, but i didn't find settings for that
with Ubuntu, no internet on GT
with MAC, no internet on GT
with my old HTC TyTN II and a windows PC with active sync, simply connect htc via usb for sharing internet from pc to device

Well, that was a serial connection with a fake external modem. What COM port did it use? Those are serial only, you'd need a driver on the tab to do it, and a software on the computer to share the connection. It's also kinda slow.

Bluetooth Internet Connection

Anyone can help me to use bluetooth and internet with my desktop pc?
TYVM
Are you talking about using your TyTN II as a modem to connect to the internet through your PC?
If so, is your PC running XP or Vista? And is it wirelessly enabled or do you need a bluetooth dongle for your PC to recognise othe bluetooth devices?
Nopes, i mean in the past in my old palm tx with a bluetooth adaptor plug to my pc i use internet with a pan connection i think, that can be done with the tytn II?
To use device to connect : Just turn on Internet Connection SHaring on your device (selecting BT) and then connect to it as a BTPAN on pc
To use pc to shre web with device, just connect activesync over BT and the device can then use the pc's web connection.

Connect Your Device Via ActiveSync, make a partnership if you havent, goto ActiveSync Options and select
" Open ActiveSync when my device connects " , then select
" Allow Wireless Connections on Device when connected to the desktop "
and you are done
Ps. Make Sure you have ActiveSync 4.5

Help browsing device through activesync

Hi,
I'm having difficulties working with my windows mobile device via my home PC (work laptop is fine). I am able to sync with my phone fine through activesync to transfer contacts etc but I am unable to browse the device contents from my PC via activesync or via windows explorer.
The device does not show up in explorer and when I try to click "Explore" from the activesync interface nothing happens.
One odd thing which I think may be related is that whenever I plug in my phone over USB my PC things it is an internet gateway and it appears in my PC's network connections as "xd". Looking at the properties for this connection there is a single service listed:
MsNMsgr (192.168.0.2:10020) 36583 UDP
Host PC - Windows XP64 Professional
ActiveSync 4.5.0 build 5096
Device - HTC Kaiser
Hyperdragon3 ROM
Any help with this would be very much appreciated
Cheers
Stuart

Hello.
When in ActiveSync mode try to disable the faster dat syncronization; Win7 should now be able to detect your phone.
Otherwise try to upgrade the USB phone driver in the Device manager (letting Device Manager search the internet for the updated driver).
This worked for me
Best regards
S
My copy of windows 7 (64bit) which i bought on 22nd oct, didnt have the sync software originally installed. when i connected the phone for the first time it automatically downloaded the sync software.

sounds more like a not working USB port (driver issues) or a win7 RC release

[Q] Side Sync with PC via USB

Good evening guys.
I'm trying to connect the Tab with pc via USB with Side Sync, and it doesn't work. The app is the latest version, 3.0 both on pc and tab. I'm running Windows 7 , USB debugging is enabled on Tab I also tried without, all drivers are installed on pc. I even changed the MTP connection of the USB. The computer reads the Tab, SideSync doesn't. I also tried switching off WiFi on Tab, but when I run the app, it automatically reopens and connects wirelessly, I don't know if that is relative.
Any ideas? Anyone else faced the same problem?
Thank you.
i think sidesync only works from phones, so a tablet can only connect to a phone but cant be a client...
but there was an app on the front page recently which promised sidesync like functionality:
