Hello,
I've tried to flash CM7 Beta on my Galaxy Tab (T-Mobile Branding). Before I used MoDaCo. Something goes wrong during the flash-process and my tablet wasn't useable anymore. After a few days I got a stock-ROM running again (flashed over Odin). But I would like to have MoDaCo again but here begins the next problem:
I cannot get into the recovery mode. I just get a black screen. Even if i try to press the volume-buttons it don't have any effect. I tried to install Clockwork Recovery during Android Market (the stock-ROM is running) but that don't helped, too.
Any idea how I can get back my recovery mode and how I can flash MoDaCo again?
Is someone possible to help me?
You need a kernel with CWM...
If you can access download mode, you need to flash the kernel with Odin or Heimdall. I recommend the Overcome kernel personally. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=932082
Thank you!
That worked ... now I'm happy again
Yay, glad I could help!

Hi,
We have a problem with an Optimus 2X.
1. We rooted the phone
2. Installed ClockworkMod recovery from ROM Manager (Flash recovery option). Successful window appeared.
3. We boot in recovery mode from ROM Manager.
The phone now hangs on boot at the LG Logo. There is no way to boot in recovery, and there is no way to do a normal boot. (Tried to boot with volumen down and lock buttons pressed, and without pressing volume down...)
It's like there was a flag that forces the phone to "boot in recovery" or something like that.
So we can't boot the phone in any mode...
We also tried smartflash, but nothing...
Any idea? How can we restore it?
Thank you very much in advance...
I would try the procedure at this link: add "http:" infront of my links, for some reason i'm not allowed to post outside links.
//android.modaco.com/content/lg-optimus-2x-2x-modaco-com/335474/25-mar-nvflash-stock-rom-release-v10b-dated-1300166062-15-03-2011/
It uses the nvidia flash tool and will allow you to flash a clean stock rom without booting up the device or going into clockwork.
The stock rom version that you can download on the link above will do fine. After you've flashed the stockrom you can reinstall clockworkmod. If I were you I would do that using these instructions:
//android.modaco.com/content/lg-optimus-2x-2x-modaco-com/335479/10-may-3-0-2-8-clockworkmod-recovery-for-the-lg-optimus-2x/
Basically all you need to do is attach the phone to the computer, make sure usb debugging is enabled and double click the install clockworkmod.bat file found in the extracted zip file downloaded from the link below.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098745
After that you should be able to flash all the custom roms you want. I hear the latest Cyanogen nightly is pretty stable!
I had the same problem and question a couple of days ago...
Mine also when trying to install CWM..
Follow this link and flash with NVflash and You should be good to go again
http://android.modaco.com/content/l...rom-release-v10b-dated-1300166062-15-03-2011/
I also gave up on the CWM flashing from PC and paid for this app in the market:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.modaco.twoxrecoveryboot&feature=search_result
Its .99 pence so not to bad... remember You NEED ROOT for the CWM recovery flashy thingy
After all flashing I just went with the stock ROM with the 0606 upgraded baseband
Works ok now (flashed with smartflash)
The 0606 baseband ROM can be found here:
Happy unbricking!
Thank you very much to both!
NVflash did the trick and I could fix the full brick!
Now I don't fear anything... nvflash can resurrect it!! xD
Thank you very much!!!!!
THANK YOU SO SO SO SO SO SO MUCH GUYS!!!!!!!!
i was messing about for about 5 hours because my apx driver didn't successfully install but i finally found one and got it to work.
i am so relieved. I can sleep easy tonight
once again a huge thanks.
Hi all,
My dad has a galaxy s. Since the stock samsung firmware is pretty bad, I installed darky's ultimate rom v10.2 on his phone, about a week ago. I have a galaxy s2, running miui, and my dad liked the interface.. so he asked me: can I have that too?
So I said, sure! I wiped his phone with clockworkmod, and flashed the miui zip. (After backing up darky's firmware offcourse)
But.. after about 1 hour of usage, he didn't like miui anymore, so he asked me if I could restore to darky's rom... so.. I went to clockworkmod, and hit the restore button. Unfortunately, it gave an error, saying something about "can't restore boot"
I tried it again.. same error.
Luckilly, I had another backup, of the stock rom, before i flashed darky. So I tried to restore that backup..
I don't know what happened, but clockworkmod doesn't work anymore. Everytime i try to do something, it keeps giving errors about unable to mount this, unable to mount that, bla bla bla.
And the phone wont boot..
However, i'm still able to access download mode.
So i think it's possible to restore it completely, but can you guys give me some advice? What should I flash with odin, and can you provide a link?
I'm really hoping for a quick respond because my dad is not happy with his phone being "dead".
Thanks in advance!

Are you sure Miui is not based on something other then samsung? Maybe you should try and flash a stock firmware (e.g. 2.3.4), then root for CWM, and restore that way?
Ok, you have to know:
For MIUI you just need a GB-bootloader as base and you can easily flash MIUI through CWM. But MIUI (and CM7 too) don't use the RFS-filesystem as Samsung-based ROMs (they use MTD/yaffs2 as the Nexus). So you can't restore Darky easily.
But you can do this:
- Reboot into download mode (3-button-combo)
- Flash any Samsung-based stock-FW with Odin
- Flash any kernel which fits your GB-firmware and which includes CWM
- Restore your Darky-backup through CWM
For stock go to http://www.darkyrom.com/community/index.php?threads/odin-darkyrom-10-2-resurrection-gt-i9000.4272/
Download and follow the steps in the thread, voila, recovery done
If u wanna go back to Darky's u can check Darky's ROM 10.2 Resurrection. But just for a clean install i would flash a stock JVQ first and then install Darky's.
Thanks for the reply's everyone, gonna try it this evening, when i'm home

EDIT: Solved!
I was running on froyo before I started process, and now I cannot boot up. This is what I did:
First I used the step 1 in the cyanogenmod wiki (http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Samsung_Captivate:_Full_Update_Guide) to install the ClockworkMod Recovery, everything is fine, until the final reboot step. after the ATT screen, the screen get into total unrecognized mode, and the unit will restart, and so on and on, in a loop.
Then I tried to use the speedmod-K13E with GB bootloader one click, and I still can't get into the system, but now it just stuck at the Galaxy S samsung screen, after the ATT screen, and no loop, just stuck.
Any suggesstions? Is there a stock rom I can restore back to using the external sd card? the internal sd card currently only has the cyanogenmod 9 on it. I have going through the different posts for the past two days, got really confused. If someone can point me to a step by step guide, or something similiar, really appericiated.
BTW, the recovery mode has the following:"ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.1.0 SpeedMod ULFK
I'm on windows 7 32bit. And I donot need to save any data on the phone. It can be wipe clean.
Did u try rebooting into cwm recovery and try to re install the rom again ?
U may need GB bootloaders as well for cm 9 (?? I'm not sure though)

If you still want to run cm9 try flashing a more recent kernel inn recovery. look in the Dev section for glitch kernel or devil kernel (i like devil) they have a more recent version of cwm that should work. I haven't used this method with cm9 but it worked with aokp.

well.. my advice is try reflashing to the stock rom using the one click in this thread [Stock ROMs](OneClicks Master Collection)+[Kernels (Stock & w/ CWM)]+[Modems] UPDATED
(kk4 reccomended)
download one of the odin one click there, and flash your rom back to stock gingerbread, oh yeah, choose the rom without the bootloader.
if that doesn't get you anywhere, please reply to my post.

You should be good to go. You should be on GB bootloaders. Just reflash CM9 in CWM.
Solved.
For some unknown reason, I can net get ODIN to communication with my device, I tried multiple device, and it seems ODIN just does not work.
I used the 3rd post in your link, with Heimdall I successfully installed the KK4 and then I used the cyanogenmod wiki again, this times it works. It seems the old stock rom won't work for the wiki, must use the new stock rom.
Thanks for all the helps, guys.

you're welcome,
glad i can help
I picked up a nice used Samsung Galaxy Tab with no sim card for my wife. The boot screen says it's for AT&T but she just uses it on Wifi and no intention of using it on 3G.
I figured I would upgrade it to ICS, and I thought I was on the right track until I tried to flash CWM 6 from the following Wiki link. Now it's in a loop and says "Connected by AT&T", shows a thin line across the screen, and then reboots.
I used this page for what I did:
Wiki: Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_(GSM):_Full_Update_Guide
Can someone help me out so my wife doesn't kill me?
Before I attempted rooting, I attempted to upgrade with Kies but it told me the device was not compatible. It has Froyo 2.2 installed.
Try to restock using overcome method.
Follow the link in my signature.

What did you install after the (kernel with) recovery? The wiki says the following:
After the kernel is installed, the Samsung stock 2.3 ROM will not boot anymore.
This goes for 2.2 too.
Boot into recovery, and install the zip of the ROM that was copied to memory. That ought to work. If not, like priyana said, restock to Overcome, and try the wiki instructions again.
If you're restocking with the Overcome files, you could just stop after the first part, and install only the stock ROM (JQ1 Gingerbread). Or continue after that and install Overcome, that's a good modified Gingerbread.
I have tried getting into recovery mode, but it just continues looping and rebooting.
What are the correct steps to get into recovery mode?
I have tried Power, Volume Up, Home but nothing works.
Basically, when I power it on, it just loops and I can't get to a point to even start the Overcome or see recovery mode in order to copy anything.

I was unable to install anything else after the CWM6 flash. That's when it started looping.
Thanks!
You guys saved the day. That "Overcome Experience" pdf was nicely done. It took me a little while to get my bearings in it, but I finally found the section about re-stocking to Gingerbread.
I was able to successfully install the GB version and then I installed the CM9 on the Wiki page I mentioned earlier.
I really appreciate the help and direction you provided. My wife will be happy and I can live another day.
Hi!
Today i wanted to update my firmware just because Samsung Kies asked me if i wanted to. I couldn't have been more wrong when i chose to update.
The update froze at 3% and after a lot of time i unplugged the phone and ended up with a brick instead of a phone.
If i try to turn it on, i get a black screen with a "phone--!--pc" picture. I can enter Download Mode by pressing VolumeDown + HomeButton + PowerButton and i get an android logo with ''Downloading... Do not turn off target'' written under it.
My phone was never rooted, nor updated ( it remained with its out-of-the-factory OS and everything ).
For the past 6 hours i've been trying to use Odin v4.43 along with AriesVE.ops (the one from the well-known WORKED2 archive) to try and get recovery-clockwork to work.
So my questions are:
Given the fact that my phone was not rooted, how can i get my GT-I9001 to work again? Is this even possible?
Can i first root it in its condition, then flash a custom rom like cyanogenmod? Or do i need to install a stock rom and then try a custom one?
What other options do i have?
Everything i've tried so far with Odin froze while downloading and i have no other solution to this problem. Please help!

Yes it is possible as long as your device boots into Download mode.
No you can't root it in its current condition.
You need to download a stock firmware, flash it using Odin or Heimdall (recommended), then root it and finally install a custom ROM if you want.

Thank you for answering!
I fixed the issue. Tried different usb port along with a different version of CWM (5.5.0.4) which I installed with Odin v4.43. CWM 5.5.0.4 caused a bootloop, but i used it only to install CWM 6.0.4.9 from external_sd, so the bootloop problem was gone. Then flashed CyanogenMod 11 and now works like a charm !
I attached an archive with CWM 5.5.0.4, AriesVE.ops and Odin v4.43, so that anyone having my problem can solve it the way i did. But keep in mind that this version of CWM *may* cause a bootloop, so prior to installing it, you should have a working version of CWM on your external_sd. Use CWM 5.5.0.4 to install the better version of CWM from your external_sd. Also, whatever you do is at your own risk!
