Hi. I recently installed the spare parts app and did the tweak to get all my apps in full screen. While it worked for most, some didn't go to full screen and stayed the same, thats fine. My question is, how does the compatibility mode trick affect apps that are already full screen on the tab to begin with (like NOVA which i already had full-screen)? Will it degrade the clarity of those apps in any way?

I purchased a note from amazon last week . when the phone arrived the screen had the banding issue so I re ordered a replacement
The smoothness of the banded phone was really good - yes the home screens lagged a little however the new phone which arrived today has a real lag .. it doesnt seem fluid when moving between home screens , the apps tray does seem smooth ..... i have HD widgets on my home screen, my email app and message app widgets and couple of contacts on direct dial
It just doesnt seem fluid as it should be with a dual core 1.4 .....
Is it possible for the processor to be faulty or am I worrying about something which will be changed on ICS .... I know I am looking hard for faults as I want the perfect handset at the price ive paid ...
The screen on this one is perfect as far as I can tell (ive decided some apps have the banding not the screen) I have decided its perfect because a HD film is out of this world .
What do you think .. if im happy with the screen and everything else .. is the lag something which will go over time with firmware update
Thanks in advance
HD widgets make the screen transition laggy(only on that page).. just try removing it./..
I'd say its fully possible with faulty hardware similair to pc with fault ram. Me and My friend have the same issue, my note is fully tweaked and he is on stock rom NO tweaks. He never experiences the 1-3 lag that i've described in my topic so yes I think there are faulty units, since In my case even when reverting to stock the 1-3sec lag is there, yawn!
Were they both running the same firmware?
Did you upgrade your Firmware OTA (Settings -> Phone Info -> Software Update)? If no, do so. The current firmware is WAY more responsive.
Its probably possible everyone goes on about lag here but mine is smooth always, the only time it lags is when I first get on the homescreen after boot up after a couple of seconds though the lag disappears.
There are a lot of lag complaints on the note, Im yet to actually see one though so Im guessing it could be a defective part.. why not try to hardreset the phone and see from there?
I have a strange issue after using Spare Parts Plus! After using the compatability mode to stretch apps to fill the screen, I now can't get them back to their original size (I need to, as not all the apps scaled up properly). Even after uninstalling SPP my Note still scales the apps. I've contacted the developer, who to his credit replied quickly, and tried what he suggested but the problem remains. Anybody else come across this and, more importantly, sorted it?
Hi to everyone,
First of all, i have to apologyze for my english, and just in case if there is another thread about this, but i haven't been able to fnd a solution or anyone with a similar problem.
I have a problem with the g-sensor of my OB, but i think it's a sw issue, as i can calibrate it with apps like gps settings (or something like that) putting the phone on a flat surface, and then i can see that it behaves normally IN THE APP. But then i go to the gallery and it automatically rotates to landscape mode, no matter how i put the phone. It detects that it is always sideways.
So i would like to know it f there is a way of calibrating the system accelerometer (not using 3rd party apps, which works for the app) and fix this problem.
Note: I have tried stock rom 2.2, 2.3 and cyanogenmod and the result is the same, so i have to disable screen rotation at least for reading properly the menus.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Areas of the screen not registering touch input in most cases is a hardware issue with the digitizer. Loose digitizer connector may cause similar issues, but the only way to check is to open the phone. Opening is not easy and there is a high risk to damage the body. If you decide to go this way, my suggestion is to get new front and back panels + screen kit and to transplant the rest into the new housing. It's also a good time to replace a worn battery or a faulty camera module.

some times the screen back to full funcanlity
and please help about the other problem with the brightness .. its look like one of the sensors is broken in the phone .. maybe its the problem ?
When Auto Brightness is set to Off, the phone is not using the light sensor.
You'll have better chance to get help if you provide some basic information about your phone:
- What OS version? (KK, LP, stock, custom)
- Was the phone factory reset after the last OS update? (highly recommended)
- Do you use any applications that control screen brightness? (like some picture viewers, barcode display apps, etc.)
You may fix the brightness issue (most likely software related), but non working digitizer on parts of the screen is hardware related and no app will fix this.

lollipop not root and other .. i deleted everything , did a soft reset not the hard type . no but i download lux to see if its help and it doesnt help either
The only thing left to try on a software side is factory reset the device. Many users report it clears various OTA Lollipop update bugs. The process takes about 10-15min, the OS will go through Android system update process again and the device will be reset to factory default state (don't forget to backup all your data). During the initial setup process don't restore your online account backup, make clean setup. Test the screen and digitizer before installing any 3rd party apps. Make sure your screen protector (if you have one) is not bugging the digitizer. If you have the same issues, then it's definitely hardware related (screen/digitizer assembly or connecting ribbon cables).
I've just been sent a replacement Z3C by Sony following water ingress (surprise surprise).
The one they've sent me looks pristine and I'm pleased with it except for this one thing.
When I scroll, swipe, slide or otherwise see animations, they're ever so slightly jittery. It's subtle, but they're not buttery smooth like my other one.
It's best demonstrated using the volume slider:
This my problem Z3C: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-NY0iUv-qI0YmpPbjFmWUZPaDQ
This is a normal Z3C: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-NY0iUv-qI0dmp5S0RmMDA5QUE
General use screen recording: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-NY0iUv-qI0SF9MRERQM0NWU1U/view
I have another Z3C (that I smashed the screen on, but a bluetooth keyboard/mouse works). I can directly compare the two and the new one is definitely worse.
The jittering shows through on screen recordings, so I guess it's not the screen hardware itself.
I also notice the slightly poor FPS on the purple boot animation
I don't have Image Enhancement enabled
I don't have Stamina mode enabled
I've compared Geekbench CPU and GPU benchmarks with my other Z3C and they're pretty much identical
It's a bit annoying when I know it can be better. I also expect it'll fall on deaf ears if I return it to Sony.
Anything I can try?
Hi,
We might need some more information. Is your phone on stock ROM / rooted / modified? Do you have plenty apps installed?
If it's all stock and there're no resource hungry apps installed, you can try the following:
// before doing anything: Backup. Backup. Backup. I'm not responsible for any lost data.
1) Enable developer options, activate developer options, go to 'hardware accelerated rendering' (I don't know if it's correct translated from German to English), enable 'force GPU-Rendering'. See if it helps.
2) If that doesn't work, factory reset your phone.
2.1) Try a debloat script to get rid of some preinstalled apps (increases performance and battery life as well)
3) If that doesn't work, flash a 'clean' stock ROM with flashtool
