p1010 wifi endless boot - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I updated some files on my system folder to improve my GPS as described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=922692
After a reboot, I can no longer get in. The device just goes into an endless loop. I have tried doing Power + Vol- and Power + Vol+ but still didn't help. I made my own update.zip file, put into an SD card and reboot to recovery mode but the recovery mode cannot read it. I read somewhere that recover e3 no longer support reading from external sd card.
Anybody who can help?

[Q] Did I brick my Nook?

I was trying to install HC from CWR, and on the formatting part, CWR crashed and the nook went black. Now it won't turn on at all. I hold the power button and nothing happens. Did I brick it already?
probably got your boot partition messed up.
Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=922870
and download the clockwork mod only sd card image
burn the image to your sd card via winimage
in mounts and storge format boot/system/data(it may crash, that's fine, just hard reset)
now you should be able to reflash the image of your choice.
hope this works, good luck.

Stuck at Boot Screen Help Please

Hi guys,
I tried installing CM7 onto my nook, i installed the zip of it onto the root of my sd card and then went into clockwork and installed the zip without wiping anything. Now im stuck at the stock android root boot screen not the even the CM7 one. I tried to go into recovery but i cant and i cant do the 8 interruptions either. I was just wondering if i have to restore the NC back to 1.1 or can i just burn the image of clockwork onto my sd card and zip another rom instead?
This happened to me, too.
I think it was because I wasn't using the latest Clockwork.
Take your SD card out and redo it making sure you use CW 3.0.1.0.
Then follow the steps listed here:
Download a working build of CyanogenMod and place it on the root of the card.
Optional: Download the Google Apps archive and place it on the root of the card.
Turn your Nook Color completely off. (Hold power button then tap "Power Off")
Insert the SD card you installed ClockworkMod Recovery onto.
Once ClockworkMod Recovery has booted, use the volume buttons to highlight options, the "n" button to select the highlighted option, and power to go back a menu.
Select Wipe data/factory reset.
Select Wipe cache partition.
Go to install zip from sdcard, then choose zip from sdcard and find your build of CyanogenMod.
Optional: Repeat step 6 with your Google Apps archive instead.
Go to mounts and storage --> unmount sdcard --> remove sdcard. (Rebooting without this step may just return you to the CWR menu.)
Go back to the main menu and select reboot system now. The Nook Color should now boot into CyanogenMod.
(In my case it froze and I had to hold power to shut it off with no negative effects. Your results may vary.)
Sigh, had to copy n paste the steps since I can't post links yet.
I re-did mine and it turned out just fine.
Thanks a lot. Im going to try that out and report back.
Yeah, sounds like you missed the wipe /system /data /cache step. I did the same once, and resulted the same bootloop -> took me a few minutes to realize what I had done.
Did what you guys said and my nook is back . Thanks a lot for the input. Saved me!

[Q] Is it possible that recovery leaves NOOK in semi-bricked state?

Hi,
I tried to recover from a failed CM9/Google Apps install to CM7 from a backup and now I'm stuck in semi-bricked purgatory...
After restoring the backup the system wouldn't boot through and CWR is no longer available. No big deal, go to bootloader (Boot menu via Power+n still works) select SD as boot media and restart.
Except restart doesn't work anymore. After selecting "Boot now" I'm stuck with the menus and the message "Booting. One moment..." but nothing happens. (None of the other option-combinations gets me any further either...)
Only explanation I have is that the boot flag write to the memory where the boot parameters are stored is failing before the reset is executed.
So now I'm not bricked enough that it auto-boots into SD but too bricked to get to recovery or switch it over to SD boot....
Anybody knows a solution or if there is a key combination for u-boot to force a boot from SD?
Is there a way to get the bootloader totally shot so the system boots from the SD?
(This is Encore U-Boot 1.2 port)
Thanks,
Mike

Ya, just let it boot from power-down with a valid CWM uSD card in the slot.

Help me save my Nook HD+ from Bricking

In order to fully erase my tab from previous contents, I wiped data/factory reset, cache partition, dalvik cache and then went to mount and storage and formatted /system,/cache,/sdcard,/data,/data and /data/media options. Now while I am trying to install the rom from sd card, it shows
"Couldn't open directory
No files found" for all of my 3 sd cards.
Now I'm kinda stuck in CWM. If I go to advanced and either select reboot recovery or reboot to bootloader option, will my Nook HD+ brick? Is there any other options for me?
It should not brick. But it will also not boot because you wiped /system. You need to put a plain SD in the slot with your ROM zip on it and power off, then boot holding the power and n key together for a few seconds, releasing the power key first followed by releasing the n key. It then should boot to CWM where you can flash the ROM zip again. Don't be so quick to format so many things you know nothing about next time.

Thanks for the help leapinlar. I did what you said and now it's stuck at "cynaboot universal bootloader" page for about the last five minutes.
Thank you leapinlar. I searched the forum for boot loader loop and found your 4gb CWM bootable sd card image and it helped me get past the bootloader loop. Now reinstalled CM 11 snapshot 12 and learnt to live with battery issue. Thanks again for the help.

Nook HD+ Boot Fail, no Access to recovery

Hi at all,
my Nook went out of power during a holiday and when I wanted to start again it stays at the caynoboot screen. I´ve tried to access the recovery to mak e a factory reset but this is also not possible. So I tried to use an image on SD card with CWM and TWRP on to get into recovery but still no success. When trying to Boot to TWRP the screen stay at Teamwin Recovery Project 3.0.1-0.
Any ideas how to get my Nook back to life?
Would be great to get some help.

Chances are your emmc is bricked, in which case you can try running off sdcard the CM11 ROM build specially made for bricked/no-emmc available at https://iamafanof.wordpress.com/201...-4-4-4-for-bricked-no-emmc-nook-hd-04nov2014/.

Hi digixmax,
thank´s for your reply. I´ve tried to follow the instructions on the page you posted but at one point it there is a problem to go on.
I have burned the image to sd and the result is that I have got a boot CD, an ext4 (system) partition and some unallocated space. Theinstalltion guide says that I have to copy the Image (zip file) onto the sd card. So i copied the file to the first and active partition. When I boot up the TWRP I press mount and select boot (changes to blue color). TheI press the home button and the process will lead me back to the menu. After that I select install and navigate to boot but I can not see the zip file to install. I have serched all the other files also but could not find the file.
Any idea?
