Hello
can somebody help me understanding the difference betwenn Voice command and speed dial and if I can use both on the same PDA ?
So far I understand that
- Speed Dial dials numbers and start programs by using voice tags
- you need to train each name to be recognized
- there is no true voice recognition
- Voice command dials numbers and starts programs by voice recognition
- in addition VC reads calendar entries and SMS/E-Mail
- there is no training mode to increase accurancy
So which program would provide better results for recognize and dial numbers by voice ?
Can I run both in parallel and use VC for the calendar function and Voice speed dial for the dialing ?
Plus I try to install VC 1.6 now .. but the button maps only to the explorer button on my TytnII .. not able to move him to the voice record button with the button application in settings
any suggestion / fix
Thanks freecall

I have the same problem.... any solution?!?!?!?
Cyberon is crap. I posted a detailed procedure for replacing it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=337501
I have installed Cyberon voice commander v2.0 and i am very happy with it when i use it with my bluetooth!!!
My only problem is that i do not know how to assign this program to the default "button 6".
I think default settings are:
"Button 6" --> Cyberon voice commander and
"Button 6 (Hold)" --> Record. (This one works).
hmm that sounds like a drastic deinstall .. so anyway to get the Voice speed dial back without doing a full hard reset if I would it like better than VC after some testing ?

M$ Voice Command ROCKS!
Ok I don’t say that about many applications especially M$ ones but I love VC. I keep my phone in its case and the BT ear piece in the ear, when the phone rings or I get a Text message VC tells me who is calling or reads the text to me. If I have an appointment but don’t recall what time it is, I just ask VC.
As far as accuracy in voice dial, it can’t be beat, say “Call: Joe Blow on mobile phone” and it will confirm “Call Joe Blow on mobile?” never misses. Say; “Dial 2125551212” and it will confirm and dial the number. No voice tags no training and it works for anyone. If my wife grabs my phone and needs to call someone she hits the VC button and off she goes.
Ok so there is one issue, with the Tilt there is no convenient button to map too, but since I do all my dialing from the BT headset or car unit it doesn’t matter to me. If you don’t mind it maped to your IE soft key ok, you can get to IE 3 or 4 other ways. On my old wizard (long live the wizard) I had it mapped to the record button and it worked great.

I have to agree with Russ. Microsoft Voice Commander is by far the best ~$17.00 I have spent for this phone, as well as the 8125 I had before this. The Voice regconition is awesome. I did have to change the buttons as described above. I chose the camera button as I never use the camera anyway. It works great with my HT700(headset) as well as the HT820(bluetooth headphones). The options allow for a good level of customization as well.
that sounds realy good and I will start testing it .Two quick questions to the comments above:
- have you installed VC without deleting / un-installing Voice speed dial on your Kaiser ?
- second it looks my device recognize all VC commands like time, date , help , signal etc but when I say call First Name Last Name it never finds any of my 590 contacts .. even it the name is as simple as Taxi G7 .. beep comes back empty .
When I say just call .. it dials a number I do not even recognize.
Can this be related that I do not have a option menu for contact in the VC settings (it is greyed ) , I can only select the notification button ?
Or is this maybe because I use PI 2007 ?
Thanks Freecall

freecall,
Right now i have both installed (getting ready to delete Voice Dial) and VC is partially functional. I will accept commands and process them correctly but it will not announce calls, read messages or calendar data. So once i have VD removed I will let you know.
I recommend you also remove voice dial before trying anymore tests.

I did not uninstall Voice Dial. IF you want to hear the calls and emails, make you configure VC properly. There is settings for only:
1.) Only announce during Free-Time. Make sure you check that one to whatever you want.
2.) Only High Priorty Emails get annouced. Again, check whichever option you want.
Where do I get a list of commands that VC will recognize? E.G Dial, Recall, on Mobile, etc.
Say "What can I say?" and you'll have your answer...

or go to the Microsoft website and look up VoiceCommand 1.6 for PPC. The list is really quite long!

Any ideas Gang?
So, after following the thread for removing voice dialer and remapping the PTT button to become button 6 and button 6 (hold) VC is still not announcing incoming calls (and yes I have configured the options!) anyone have any idea why it would perform 90% of its duty and not the last 10%?
Russ741
Are you sure it's not announcing them, or is it possible it's announcing them through the "wrong" speaker? If you've got it set to use BT, BT, and only BT, then all of the announcements go through the headset, or don't get made if it's not currently connected (like walking out of range and then back in).
I tweaked mine to announce only through the speaker, then turned it off because the robot voice annoyed me, but at first I thought it wasn't working...
One question about VC...
Do you have to say the person's full name to dial them? Let's say I have a contact name John Smith, do I have to say "Call John Smith Mobile", or can I program nicknames somewhere within the software so I can say something like "Call Smitty"?
It's based on the contact name, so "Call Smitty" will confuse it.
Is it possible to send messages just using voice or only receive them?

It is based on what ever names you have in contacts so, for example if I want to call my office I say; "Call work" since there is only one number in the contacts database VC doesnt ask for Mobile, home or work. And since my office is just listed as First Name: Work Last Name: <blank> it understands.

I simply reads the text or email to you, so there is no way to compose a message with VC.

Anyone have a shortcut for enabling call forwarding? I always forward to the same number. I would like to be able to use a button or voice command to bring up the call forwarding screen, and then just click yes/OK to enable or disable it. Anyone else using this?
By the way. I have been using ATT's fast forward service for a couple of years. Do I need to continue paying for this, or will the phone redirect the calls?
Thanks,
Tom
Bump. I'd really love to find how to do this also, I'm doing it several times a day ...
On my 8925 phone I created two contacts.
Turn Forwarding On:
_OnForward
*21*5125551212#
(replace 5125551212 with the areacode and phone number you want to forward your calls to)
Turn Forwarding Off:
_OffForward:
##21#
The _ puts the two items at the top of my contacts list. I click contacts and then press call on the selected forwarding option. Sometimes I get an error message "command not supported", but that is related to my phone's connection strength and not the programming. This has been working well for me for about a year. I have tried to make a couple of buttons that dial the contacts directly from another screen, but that hasn't worked. You have to open contacts and the press call on the option you want.
Later-
Good morning gents.
I have an HTC TyTN II with Win Mobile 6.1
I created the contacts like that and on my "Favorite People" page I put the contact there, it just says :
"Cannot Complete the call. the Signal may be unavailable or the phone number may not be valid. Verify the number or try again later."
From the contact list it works of course.
Another question regarding call forwarding. Is there a way to have an icon on the top bar that says the call ARE being forwarded... I keep missing a couple of calls that end on my home answering machine because I forgot to forward
Vesperatus-
I have all of your same issues. As far as I know, there aren't any solutions. You just have to remember to unforward your phone.....
-Later
I have two questions and if any one can help will be appreciated:
1. I previously managed to have a dialler where it allows you to multi select contacts before initiating a conference call in the same keybad area, any idea how can i get this feature back, at least the name please
2. The feature where the phone will initiate a sound reciting the caller's name or the number calling you (while the phone is ringing), does any one knows what this feature is called?

msvc which voice commands lets you access certain commands over your phone. You should be able to find a few different versions in Hacking and development forum.
Hi Please follow the instructions to the word. If this topic has been covered before, I apologize and I will delete it, if you let me know.
What you need.
1) HD2 running Gingerbread 2.3
2) Google Voice Account which is running on your phone. You have to be logged on.
Steps :
1) Download sipdroid from market
2) open sipdroid and you will see at the bottom, link to pbxes (not the exact words but you get the picture). Tap that
It Opens a box which already has your Google account in it.
3) Enter you google password (yes google password..no way around it)
4) follow the steps. Your ipbex account will be created and Gv trunk will be added. (You will not see any of this but this is a background process)
5) After a few minutes it is back on the home screen of sipdroid and you will see a green dot on the task bar.
Now is the important part :
6) Hit menu on sipdroid.
7) Once the menu screen is up , hit menu again and hit export.
8) Close sip droid.
9) Open file explorer and goto sipdroid folder on Sd card
10) Copy the file to your computer/ email it or whatever you like.
11) Open the the file with notepad
12)Look for user name and password and note it down. password is case sensitive.
13) domain is pbxes.org
14) Almost done. Got to your android settings and go into call settings.
15) Add new account for internet calls. put in the login and password and server.
16) Additional settings..change port to 5061
17) hit back button. and the account will be authenticated. check the receive calls box. Hit back button.
18) Use the options based on your choice. For me it is ask everytime I make a call so it pops up if I want to make call via internet or cellular network. Use your own preference. I dont have data plan and only wifi.. your situation might be different.
19) In google voice settings, turn off use for calls
20) Start calling and all outgoing calling will go over your internet connection if you so choose and using your GV number.
21. Uninstall sipdroid
is it 2.3 only or 2.3.x?
any gingerbread version should be ok. SIP calling is integrated into the OS
ok next question sorry for sounding like a pain in the as but does it work for international calls?
GV gives you credit for international calls ie calls that originate in the US and terminate in a different country. Now if you have a US GV number, yes GV will charge for international but US to US is free. However if you are visiting a foreign country and want to call back home to the US then it is free as you already have a US GV number.
I have to clarify this. If the GV setting on your phone is set to use for calls, the calls will be handed over to your cellular network..word of caution
oo ok thanks, i appreciate the clarity
Does this only work in the US or can we use it in other country's?
I am not sure if Google voice gives you non US numbers. That is something you need to check in your home country
This is pretty cool, thanks.
Outgoing calls work great but is this supposed to work for incoming as well?
If so, how is it configured?
I have my GV number forwarding to Google Chat but I just get a voice attendant that tells me "The person at extension 200 is on the phone".
Yes it should work for incoming as well as long as the caller calls you on the GV number and the Internet calls settings on your are set to receive incoming calls. It would be helpful if some folks on here reported on the call quality
I have checked the receive calls box and I am calling my GV number and my GV number is set to forward to Google Chat but I just get the message saying I'm on the phone.
It's probably related to GrooVeIP which I sometimes use. I've had some problems like this before where GrooVeIP sort of grabs onto the Google Chat forward and won't let go, even if it isn't running or is uninstalled.
Not sure if I'm in the right place for this so sorry if this gets posted incorrectly.
I'm relatively new to Tasker. Trying to use it autoanswer a call from a specific caller and then dial the number 1, but I'm having real issues getting it setup. Here is what I've done so far.
I developed a task that I'm just calling test using the following steps:
1. CALL - triggered by an incoming call from a specific name (not using a the number)
2. WAIT - currently set to 70ms.
3. LAUNCH APP - launch the phone keyboard.
4. SPEAKERPHONE - set to "on"
5. IN-CALL VOLUME - level 8
6. BEEP - this is just a notification for me that a call has started. I've got it set to 1000 MS
7. AUTOINPUT ACTION - clicks the 1 key.
I then setup a profile, selected STATE, selected CALL INCOMING and then assigned the task to it.
When go to the task and click the play button, it works just fine. When I actually call the number though and have the task set to use my name, I get an error message.
I've tried various versions of this, screening for specific numbers or for a name, but no joy on any of them. The farthest that I've been able to get is to have the phone pick up a call and turn on the speaker phone, but that's only if I don't screen the name or the number of the caller. When in an actual call, I haven't been able to get the keyboard to launch at all.
Additionally, I've been looking all over for examples of a similar task and haven't really found anything useful.
The phone I"m using is a moto g6 - not rooted - running Oreo. Any help would be very much appreciated.
