G1 I can't connect to adapter wifi

Hello everyone,
I have a Htc g1 dream with cyanogen 4.2.5 and ubuntu 9.10
I haven't a wifi router, but I have an adapter wifi (functioning).....
I would like connect g1 with my laptop, the g1 and laptop see the other networks of neighbor without problem but between them, are not seen
I tried with ip static, ip dynamic, ad-hoc, managed....
where is the problem??

It's possible that g1 see only a router??
Nobody can try connect g1 with adapter wifi like lap top???
I would like understand i my mistake or a problem of sw.

is it possible, that the wireless router that youa re trying to connect to has the MAC addresses locked down? I lock mine down

I HAVEN'T a router wifi.
I have ONLY a wifi pc.
G1 have default setting and laptop working with out problem...
I make this test with 3 pc......

question about tethering

my desktop has a PPPOE internet connection.
can i share tether it and make my X8 a wireless router and have other devices(laptops) use that wireless connection?
my x8 doesnt have any mobile data connection by the way.

if you use windows, you can try this to have inet-connection on your x8. though i'm not sure if you can create a wifi-hotspot then

If you want your laptop to be the wifi hotspot , use "Connectify".
If you want your SE X8 to be the wifi hotspot , use "Barnacle Wifi Tether"

Internet pass-through from the PC to the Xperia Z

so i just got my Xperia Z and for now im very satisfied with it.
one thing it can't do however, that my htc one s could, is using internet pass-through.
what i mean by this is hooking my phone to my PC's internet connection. i'd need this because i sometimes want to browse the app store from my phone when i'm home, but i don't want to use my data plan and unfortunately my laziness lvl is over 9000 so i can't be bothered to buy a wi-fi router.
so is internet pass-through a feature that isn't present in Sony phones?

If you are on Windows 7, you can make your own laptop as access point. Provided you have a wireless card installed. Search VirtualAccessPoint.

hello guys my xperia z Wifi's disconnect from wifi and when i check it my wifi is in range and it not connect to it. and i must wait to reconnect, is it normal or my devise have problem? what i must to do?

Can' connect on a wifi made with Barnacle wifi teather with my htc one completly stock.I can connect my laptop and any tablette but not my Htc one.Wath the probleme.
