This or the toshiba folio100? - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

At the same price of 299 (no contract) which one would you get?
Sent from my GT-I9000

Avoid the folio, the screen is no good. It's night and day compare to the screen of the galaxy tab. The only best thing about the folio is its tegra2, but you don't feel it at use with android 2.1.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App

Yeah but I already have the sgs which is basicly the same thing and the folio is really cheap
Also tegra2 seems like a pretty big pro...

[Q] Still worth buying?

Hi.
I'm looking to buy a tablet but I'm having trouble deciding I'm looking for a 7 inch so the choices right now are the Samsung Galaxy Tab, the Acer Iconia A100 and the HTC Flyer. I'm not sure whether 3.0 is the way to go right now. The prize of the A100 and the Tab is the same here. Which to buy?
Sorry if this question has been asked before.
/Henriette
If you don't care about phone calls on the tab, then I think the htc flyer is a better choice. But on my part I like the galaxy tab because of the phone capablities and it's a little smaller than the htc flyer. So it depends on your needs.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
I would suggest the Flyer over the three if you are willing to pay the extra price.
Sent from my Galaxy Tab via Tapatalk Pro
Thought about the Flyer, but it's more than $300 more than both the A100 and the Tab, and I'm not spending that kind of money
Sent from my E10i using XDA App
Then the iconia looks faster on the papers. But it doesn't look as nice as the galaxy tab. And we don't know about the quality of the screen. On the galaxy tab it's pretty good. You should go and test it in shops.
By the way are you talking about the wifi only version or the gsm version for the gtab ? The wifi only version is a little slower than the gsm I heard.
If I had to choose again ? The galaxy tab is my choice. But I wish it would have a dual-core processor.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
I'm talking the GSM version. We don't have the wifi only tab here.
Sent from my E10i using XDA App
I just recently purchased the GSM version (unlocked). I've had it for just a couple days and I like it. I too, was thinking about the ACER but I didn't want to wait another month for something that may or may not be to my liking. I live in Kuwait and the price dropped almost $100 US on the 32GB version so I bought it.
Ended up getting one :-D The prize was suddenly lowered a lot.

If only Spigen SGP could make a case

I wish Spigen could make a Stehen series equivalent of the case they make for 7 inch Galaxy Tab. It looks so sleek. I emailed them few weeks back but they replied there is no plans for it

Nice, but I think the closest thing you can get to that at this point is the Noreve cases. Look down a few threads and you'll see it. It's expensive, but unlike a lot of other cases out there, that seems to be actual leather, shipped from France. I personally wanted to get it but the timing wasn't right and also I am getting the Seidio Active case.
Noreve cases look beautiful. I was tempted to get one too but I'm waiting on Seidio active in royal blue instead.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
This looks so much better than Noreve (me thinks...) I am willing to pay 100$ (or £ if you wish I am in the UK) for a top quality case. Although I suppose that a lot of manufacturers of premium cases thinks who is going to pay for the case half the value of their tablet. That is why you see a lot of premium products for fruit tablet which costs so much it is easier turn justify paying premium for accesiries.

Correct in that assumption. However, the Noreve cases are the closest thing to that pictured case. There are a few other options to the Noreve case that can make it different and rise the cost of the case if you like lol.
I know of Vaja, makes premium cases as well but mainly for the Apple lines. The "i-volution" line was the cases that looked similar to what you posted. I used to buy those all the time for my PDA's back in the day lol.
I've had a really poor experience with SGP screen protector so I'm not touching anything they sell, sorry. Not even cases.

should i buy?

im tempted to go buy a nexus 7 today in town for £190
do you guys think its worth its money ? i have a galaxy s2 on cm10.1 jellybean 4.2 so i guess its just a bigger version of my phone
have you been dissappointed with the nexus 7 when you bought it or do you think you have got a goot tablet?
cheers guys!
I bought it for christmas for my wife.
I have a Desire HD and she has a Incredible S as smartphones.
I have a Samsung Tab 10.1.
So as mobile tab or for ebooks it's the best one I think.
And it's a very good price. For a tablet in 10.1 inch you pay 400 £.
If you want to invest 400 £ buy a Galaxy Tab 10.1 otherwise a Nexus.
You wont't be wront.

I have been surprisingly impressed with my nexus 7. I bought it at launch, and I was already heavily involved with the HTC rezound and the Transformer prime tablet. I had also had two iPads so I thought I knew all I needed to know about tablets. Had my local staples not had one in stock aftrer launch or had it been more expensive I wouldn't have tried it.
But I'm so glad I did, because the 7 inch size surprisingly makes it feel, completely different from a 10 inch, and its so handy and convenient. My favorite part is the development. I set my tablet aside for a few weeks, and when I came back to it development had increased instead of slowed, so I get to flash and help work on toms of stuff.
If you have any more questions send them on but I highly recommend trying it.

Asking this question in a forum full of people who already own the device seems a bad idea as far as getting unbiased opinions goes.

You'll be glad you bought it! I had a 10" Transformer that I could never get on with let alone take anywhere! For portability nothing beats it and you will appreciate the pure Android experience for sure. I also thought I'd miss the extra few inches but in fact I prefer it because it makes typing and playing games much easier as your not stretching to use the controls all the time nor are you fed up of how heavy it gets in your hands although I appreciate that depends on what 10" you have.
Enjoy it!
I'd say go for it. The Nexus 7 is easily my most used gadget I own.

Galaxy tab2 10.1 is only £230'ish and the note 10.1 only £320'ish
Anywho, N7 is the best bang for buck on the market. Yes it has its flaws (well some do) but it's still a tidy, fast machine.

As a guy who has owned probably half a dozen different android tablets, this guy has said most of what I would have about the n7. At home I use it more than both my laptop and Nexus phone. Out and about I'll always take it with me in preference to my laptop as it's small enough to be very portable yet still large enough to be much more comfortable to use than my phone.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
These 'should I buy' threads always make me laugh.
Why not go ask in an ipad mini forum if you should buy a 7 over a mini.
I'm sure they'll all say a 7 :what:

OK how about this just compare all the other tablets to the n7. Then look at what you get for your money. Hands down the n7 is underpriced for what's inside. The only thing that it lacks is a SD slot.
Seriously why did we get the n7. Sure its a nexus but we got it because of the price its cheap and gives you the most bang for your buck.

Still worth buying or aged?

Looking to buy a new phone soon, and just wanted your views on whether this phone has gone aged.

If your price range allows I would invest in an s2 otherwise this is still a highly supported phone

In my opinion it's worth buying

You could also consider the i9001 (Galaxy S Plus), which looks exactly the same as the i9000 but has quite different hardware. At least on paper it's quite a bit better and not nearly as expensive as an SII. I've got one of those and am really happy with it
Yes but the i9001 only has slightly faster CPU and slower graphics you can easily set the i9000 to the same clock speed as the i9001

I asked around on the nexus s forums and they told me not to buy. They say its showing its age.
I'm looking at Xperia S now. Probably gonna buy it.

A rooted Galaxy S I9000 is still pretty good, but if you can afford it I recommend you the Xiaomi MI-2.
I personally think that the i9000 is a great phone. It was my first Galaxy class and is still with me
I rooted the phone and switched over to running JellyBean (SlimRom version) and think it is just great. I do prefer the S2 just because it is that much faster, but finding it hard to part with my trusty original
Good all round phone but a little slow on some of the major games (I believe - though cannot vouch for that)

Phone: Galaxy S4
Phablet: Galaxy note 2
glass: Google glass
7inch:Tablet:Nexus 7
10inch:ipad 4
watch:samsung's rumored watch
and i would love to see a 15inch tablet soon it will be a PC killer in my opinion
Current: Galaxy Tab Plus 7.0 GT-P6200 phone/tablet hybrid.
Next: Xperia Togari or Note 3
Definetly subject to change should anything cooler get released, but its not looking that way.
If togari comes out first, I will get it and then decide on the Note 3.
HTC One X+ anyday. S3 and S4 feel like cheap plastic phones considering the price.

S3. I always buy the last year's model because their price is dropped with like 200e's. Hey I'm a student! My mom doesn't by my phones anymore
Or a Nexus 4. That thing was cheap all along.
