Hi Rainbow.
How were you able to root your phone?
Can you please post instructions here or direct me to the thread where the root instructions can be found?
Thank you.

A quick and easy root method is available on youtube, just do a search for: "How to root Samsung Galaxy S I9000 (Easiest safest method)" you find a video and a link to the file you need to perform the root. (Video is by tech0StickyAsGlue)
Cheers!
today, I think u should upgraded your rom to zsjpd first, this is the offical firmware . You upgrade through Kies by Samsung.
Then use univerisal lagfix 0.4 version with 340 Mb to perform root ,lagfix and your phone will fly like a ro rocket!!!
Thank you for the info Rainbow. Will definitely try that out.
Cheers!
I think you can just flash any of the JPM/JP0 custom Kernels out there as your rom is based on them kernels anyways. I recommend YA-OK/ZENKINS kernel.
Thank you for the info. How's the battery life on these ROMS using the Ya OK kernel?
Hi everyone I have seached the forum and found some threats on this subject, but nothing that helped me.
PDA: I9000XWJPF
PHONE: I9000XXJPP
CSC: I9000TDCJP3
And my revovery is e3
I have tried One Click Root from XDA and z4root.
The One Click Root gives me the Verification error and the z4root just stalls..
Please help me. I want to apply lagfix and custom roms.

you didn't read enough. There is TONS of info on how to root the Galaxy S.
First of all i suggest you change upgrade to a more recent ROM, such as JPY. Go to the General Section and a thread for JPY will be there, you can get Odin in that thread too or from the link in my sig. To root, all you need is Odin v1.7 and CF-Root, the thread is here: [21.12.2010][CF-Root v1.3] JPH/K/6/M/A/O/U/X/Y - su+busybox+2e, CWM compat!
You can't have 3e Recovery, CF-root will give you 2e.
OR you could simply flash a custom ROM and you'll have root pre-installed.

I saw that thread but i dont know witch file to download whit my fw specifications
Jess
It doesn't matter what firmware you have before, the only thing that does matter is the CSC, which contains countries' specific provider APN's etc, but it'll have the EU CSC so you should be fine. Get Odin v1.7 and flash JPY over, and then you can flash CF-Root or a Kernel like Hardcore's, to get Clockworkmod as well, in order to flash a custom ROM.
So as it is now i just use odin and flash lets say DocRom XXJPX ?

Would be better to flash stock JPY, use CF-Root and then flash Doc/Darky ROM.
Can you point me a link for such fw? The one that fit my current fw.

Shall i flash all the files? pda phone and so on?

Guy don't flash the JPY if you want to use GPS. After I flashed it on my German Galaxy S. It takes hours to fix the GPS and then you just get an accuracy (do I write it right?) of around 100 meters. Better use the JPX with JPA WiFi drivers.

Link? And am i still going to flash all files?

Lets see if we can complicate this further for this poor guy.
An easier approach if you don't want to touch your firmware is to flash a modified kernel. For example SpeedMod will give you root as well as other goodies (2e recovery, clockwork recovery, etc).

Download and flash it using ODIN (put the file into the PDA box).
This was what i was lookning for and after i have done this i can use costom roms with clockwork?

After I upgraded my Froyo 2.2 from JPA to FROYO.DXJPE I9000DXJPB I couldnt root using z4root at all. What can I do? The upgrade fixed my GPS problems tho. But my SGS Lags now. Help please. It also says my Recovery is 3e.
Want to jump in too...
I'm also interested in Darky's but did a fine job bricking my phone recently when I tried to flash to another firmware. So I need something like an idiot's/tech bimbo's guide...
My phone is the I-9000 international, running on official froyo 2.2, not rooted. Can someone kindly spell out the steps of exactly what I need to do? I came across many sites with incomplete information or even conflicting sequences when using Odin, so I'm a little paranoid about bricking my phone again. TIA.
my i9000 rom is 2.33 jv4.....i want to know how to root it,use software or others?thanks!
Search in the dev forum for rooted kernel for gingerbread roms. Flash with odin. If you don't know how to do this, then you have some reading to do.
No one is going to walk you through it step by step when there are plenty of guides in the stickies.

Ask in q and a thread ;-)
But look at cf root.
had the same problem solved it by using talondev kernel (then flashing another rom optional) using odin

My suggestion for rooting JW1
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16255352&postcount=1
I'm using Semaphore 2.5.0 with JW1. Rock solid
Hi, I´m not experimented user. Despite this, upgrade the galaxy tab P1000N to gingerbread from froyo that it´is originally. This was made using Odin 1.7 and rom downloaded from samfirmware.com. Since, the tablet was unstable and freeze and reboot in a random mode, and using any app. I try any combination of roms and pit files with the same result (unstable tab). Recently in another forun suggest to mi try with this kernel [Kernel][GB][P1000L/N] Ronan's Gingerbread Kernel. I need if somebody know if it can fix this problem?
Thanks in advance
