[Q] T-Mobile Galaxy Tablet bricked, Help! - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok, I know everyone says "I bricked my tab" but just dont do research to see they can hold the power and Vol down buttons and start over.
Well I dont have that luxury.
I putting a new ROM on via Odin and it failed, the dowload screen was still up, so I held the power button down to reboot and start over.
The screen has been black ever since.
No Battery icon when charging
No download mode if I hold the buttons down
No connection to Odin or Heimdall.
No power up nothing just black screen.
Any advise?
Thanks!

Open door, place tab beside it, feel the breeze
Nothing you can do really except JTAG repair or send back to samsung.

[Help] Loaded AT&T ROM onto GSM i9000

Hi all,
I accidentally loaded an AT&T ROM onto my Galaxy S. Now, I cannot boot it to downloader mode to flash another ROM. Anyone can advise?
Everytime, it boots into the AT&T splash screen and the screen turns on and off ... regardless of the key combo I used.
Thanks.
try volume up+volume down + power buttons
instead of power+volumen up+home buttons
No go. Tried alot of different combinations and the phone just won't go into downloader mode. Worse is the phone absolutely refuse to boot up once it is plugged in (whether USB or charger). When it's plugged in, it will not even display the battery charging icon.
When not plugged in, it will only boot to the AT&T splash screen and then goes into an endless loop of showing the screen and showing a black screen.
Think I have absolutely bricked the phone. I need advise. Can Samsung reflash the phone if I bring it in? I am willing to pay for them to do so. Or must the whole motherboard be replaced? If the latter, I am not willing to do so as getting a new phone will cost much cheaper (I still have a line I can recontract)
Bump. Anyone?
Welcome to the club; there's no solution yet
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=735462&page=5
try this, i read from else where...
Let the bricked phone turn on, let it go into the stuck screen.
after a very looooooooong while, it will turn itself back off
after that, use the 3 button combination to turn it back into the DOWNLOAD mode
hold Volume Down + hold Home + hold Power
2 sec later should go directly to the Download Mode screen

can you get into the Download mode?
if you can then it's easy with Odin
anyone able to fix this problem or get back to download mode
I bought the phone back to Samsung and they also cannot do anything. In the end, they changed the whole motherboard. Thankfully, they did it under warranty.

[Q] bricked attempting to update to cog 2.2 beta6

in attempting to flash to cog2.2beta6 I think I bricked my phone was trying to use clockwork to flash and it did not see the files necessary (yes I copied them to the phone)tried to odenback to stock and it would not go into download via vol keys and bat and usb cable (had done it before so I know it worked and how to do it, finally and probably the death blow, went into cmd flash.sh it started to perform some sorta function then locked me to a startup window stating att world phone when I try to power the phone back up, if I attemtp to get it into download via usb I get a little star like circle that just sits there, holding power and vol keys flashes thru startup world phone window repeatedly but nothing else.... have I totally bricked it or is there something else I can try.... any help and or suggestions appreciated.... having to use my old backflip for now after being spoiled LOL.... thanks in advance
you havent bricked it you just need to do things in the proper order.
open odin one click
unplug phone
pull battery out
while holding the volume keys down, insert battery, then plug it in and dont let go of the volume keys until you get into download mode
update
thanks Pirateghost, I did do the dl attempt in that order, unfortunately whatever else I did resulted in the phone totally failing, would not let me or the att tech do anything with it and after sitting for a few hours would not even acknowledge that it was pluged in to charge only had a circle of lines like you would see whle it was performing a task adn making you wait .... but the little bars were not moving.... so long story short since they could not get the phone to start, boot, go into recovery or download mode my new one is in the mail as a warrenty replacement. will have to be more careful next time...

BAD thing after 2.2.1 update

I have updated the phone to android 2.2.1 and after reboot it appears Samsung's logo, vibrate once, but then it goes to a black screen, vibrating something like this: "bzzz.....bzz-bzz.............bzzz....bzz-bzz...." and so on )
The phone didn't restarted by himself, I had to chose system reboot. There were some red lines, but I don't remember what they were saing, as I did not pay attention to them
The update was made through Kies. The phone was with 2.2 version and was rooted with some app from the market, don't remember which, and is from Orange Romania.
So...what I need to do? Does anyone knows? It's not even my phone, my brother has it, but I'm the one who wanted the update )
L.E.: LagFix was also installed on the phone and I think those errors was from some files which could not be edited or something like that...and please, I'm a little desperate...

Which firmware you had before update? 2.1 Eclair? Most known lagfixes supports for 2.2 froyo
Did you tried your luck with odin?
Thank you androidsl for reply. The phone had froyo 2.2. I don't know where to get odin, this is what I'm searching now. I am downloading I9000XXJPY.rar from samfirmware right now. After I'll get it, I will try to install it with odin, even if I never used it before
And that charghing battery appears on screen when I plug it in USB powered off like it's charging. If I turn it on, no sound as a new hardware detected hears, so it's posible to do anything with odin if my computer doesn't see the phone connected?
Another thing...I can't get the phone in download mode :| It must be the one with 3 buttons problem..damn! What can I do?

My every post have a THANKS button. you can thank me from clicking on that
Did your phone have working 3 button download mode?
Press Volume down key and while holding that press home key. while keep pressing those two, press the power button and hold the all three keys until you saw the boot screen. then release all keys.
If you have a yellowish screen saying "Download mode, do not turn off the target", Man this is your lucky day
If I press those keys and release them after that samsung galaxy s logo, it gos into that black screen and vibrating thing again. If I keep pressing those 3 buttons for a long time it just rebooting continuously (samsung galaxy s logo appears-disappears-appears-disappears-appears-disappears etc until I release the buttons and goes into that black screen)
So, to be clear what is going on with the phone. It's turned off. I turn it on and it displays that samsung galaxy s gt-i9000 logo, then that animation with that sound..and that's all. After that..a black screen and vibrations
If you can not get to download mode that is a thing to consider. no download mode mean no odin
In that case i think you have to get a custom USB flashing cable to get into download mode. i saw ebay have that cable for a low price
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=819551
Or return phone to vendor for repair .
jje
you need to hold vol down + home + power while the phones off and it should go into download mode.
what rom did you have before trying JPY?
My brother is leaving town after a few hours and he needed the phone. Eh...)
I will buy a microUSB cable and mod it for download mode. If that's not working...I will go with it on a service. Thank you guys. I thought that something could be done, even the 3 buttons method doesn't work

Phone freezed after rebooting!! HELP!

FIXED
After rooting my Samsung Galaxy S, it got bricked and got stuck on the black and white logo sign. The home buttons would light up but I had to take the battery out to turn it off. When I plugged in the USB at the battery sign, I pushed the volume up and volume down and power button at the same time and let go of the power button when the screen flashed back, then let go of the volume buttons after awhile. That took me to the download mode. I tried other methods like one click un brick but it didn't work. After following the instructions to the link below it now works fine!! I'm so glad because I almost sent it to Samsung for $70. I hope this will help anyone else who is having the same problem! If I can do it, I think anyone can do it! This was my first time trying to root a phone without knowing anthing.
Here's the link:
http://androidspin.com/2010/08/09/how-to-restore-or-recover-your-samsung-vibrant/
Also some helpful tips when using the Odin program:
-before you plug in your USB cable, put the tar and pit files into the same folder as the extracted odin file so you won't run into any problems
-then after plugging it in, if the box in the Odin program doesn't turn green then disconnect/connect USB cable again and it should turn green
so I found out it crashed because i was using root explorer >< I had no idea it could do that to my phone. anyways I looked up how to hard reset the phone when its frozen. is that the only way? because its not working. the first thing to do is hold the volume button down and then press and release the power button then three things are supposed to pop up. but everytime i try to do that, it just goes to the black and white screen >< any tips or advice?
You should press the volume down + home button + power button, then the phone will enter in download mode and from there you can flash a new working rom with odin.
Or if you want to wipe data you can press volume up + home + power and it will enter in recovery menu.
thanks, but I think I really screwed up my phone. because I tried that and all the other ways to put it in recovery mode but everytime I push those buttons the black and white screen keeps blinking
Can you put the phone into recovery or download mode with adb?
adb reboot recovery
or
adb reboot bootloader
That sounds way too complicated after looking it up. I don't think I should mess with it because it might mess up even more. Do you think how much it would cost if I went to a phone repair shop? If it's more than $20, I'm gonna do whatever I can to do it myself. T_T
So i found out that if you push the volume up ANd down button ANd power button at the same time it will let you clear all data and restart the whole phone. I did that and when I turn it on it makes the tmobile sound but it still freezes at the black and white sign. Any suggestions? I don't want to pay $70 and send it in to samsung T_T also, I forgot to mention but I used root explorer to try to change the framework. would that have been the problem? or would it be the installation of bug busy installer? because after I installed that it kinda froze on me. But I used root explorer before and didn't have a problem with it. Anyways, anyone can help me on how to get it off the black and white screen?

Samsung Galaxy S3 gt - i9305 stuck in downloading mode

Hey guys!
I'm using a rooted Samsung Galaxy S3 gt - i9305.
When I tried to open the hard reset menu by pressing the volume up + power + home button it went into the download mode and got completely stuck over there. The phone has no charge left. When I try to charge, it automatically boots up and again shows the "Downloading do not turn off target" but it doesn't get charged. If I press and hold the power button the screen goes black for sometime and then again it's in the Downloading mode. No matter whatever key combinations I use, this is what happens. Please suggest me some ways to fix this. I don't have a PC, so it would be great if you suggest me how to get my phone back without using a PC. But I do have another working phone.
Please guys help me.
Thank you.

it seems like you have something wrong with the keys circuits, you need to make a hardware check on that phone.
the volume down key and home key must be stuck(like always pressed).
No they're not stuck. I'm able to press and hold them. The phone actually responds to this, first the screen goes black and after awhile again the download mode is on.:crying:

i know you can press them, it's something in the board itself, circuits are touched or something like that, i can't explain because I'm not a good English speaker in "electronic stuff".
