i hope Samsung release its open source that developers can put it in our SGalaxy Tab 7...
source : GSMArena

Looks nice

It would be nice to port its os to the galaxy 7 ,and it would be easier if samsung released its source code

OMG, now how will the stupid carriers in the USA cripple this one.

yeah it looks pretty nice especially with the Honeycomb
but if we just think about the difference between GT 8.9 and GT 7 ... it's only the screen size and the cpu
so i think porting GT 8.9's rom to GT 7 it might be easy !!

Is this really true?! You can call with this f..... good Tab?!

Nice find!
I was planning on getting one anyways but this is an unexpected surprise.

If this is really true, i will buy it imediality

That's good and all, but it still wont be as portible as the 7inch, 8.9 is only 1 inch smaller than the 10/ipad
swyped from a galaxy far far away...

i won't be surprised if the 10.1 has phone capabilities as well...

anyone know if A*&* will cripple voice calls on this device also?

Thats basically what I was talking about here;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14311618&postcount=4
It is really too early for the USA Carriers to be telling what they will do with this best of a kind.

Don't fall and purchase the dan thing because it can make call. The US carriers (esp ATT) are smart. They keep it that way till the new devices are about to come out and block you (just like the GT 7), so you will keep buying. At the end you still don't have what you want but your $$$ go to the greedy ones. I am not going to buy another GTab till Samsung makes the unlocked and cover ATT bands.

@CyberGhos ... completely with ya
but we just wishing if the developers can port its rom to our GT 7 ... for me , i don't need phone's functions .... all what i need just the Honeycomb and everything will be ok

Anyone going to get the Galaxy S?

What does everyone think? 4" may be the sweet spot between big screen size and too big. I don't know how I feel about even less physical buttons though as I already think it is the stupidest thing ever to not have dedicated send/end, but that is just me.
Not while they've skinned Android and replaced some Google integration with Yahoo integration.
No led flash? Are you f*cking kidding me?
I like the S-AMOLED and the proper multi-touch screen. However, having used the N1, I feel that it's just about as large a smartphone as I'd like to have in my pocket.
Not having to jump through as many hoops to get it customized, rooted, unlocked, etc. is also a nice thing about being on the N1.
Why would I want that when I have an N1?
Nexus 2
T-Mobile Vision http://phandroid.com/2010/06/25/dual-core-4-3-inch-htc-vision-headed-for-t-mo-this-year/
I've had a G1, and a N1, I'll wait until the next "Google" phone's out to upgrade, I think
If it gets rooted and with a stock rom i'm going for it. Samsung makes great hardware. The software sucks big time.

+10. Updates will be non existent, samsung expects you to buy a new phone if you want to update, screw that. I'll stay with nexus one.

Yeah I'm with you I'll wait for the new Nexus One every phone on T-Mobile that's made by HTC and only has stock Android is the phone Google uses for the next year. Thanks to Froyo the Nexus One has been the best Android phone until at least August when the Droid X gets 2.2 and gets a speed boost. Also you know that the Galaxy S will not get to use the free tethering that people with the Nexus enjoy. So to the original question NOPE
Sent from my Nexus One
If it is rooted why couldn't you use wireless tether? Wow I did not think everyone would be so against it. Its already rooted though I thought.

If I upgrade phones from my Nexus One its going to be for these features:
- Vanilla android
- 4.3' screen
- Can use the same $50/mo even more plus T-mobile voice + data
I'm more than happy to play the waiting game with my Nexus One until this phone comes out...
If the guys at Samsung weren't so cheap to cut corners and actually included an led flash I might have considered the GalaxyS... but I can't support such obvious penny pinching cost cutting by Samsung
I love its GPU power and the Super-AMOLED, but for me to go from the N1 I need :
dualcore
>WVGA
stock android
[email protected]
I don't expect that for another 6 months or so, so I'll be keeping my Nexus One until then
The Galaxy S is also plasticky and ugly

Sir,
3.3 - 1.5 is 1.8 not 3.14.
and the rumour said it has Super AMOLED screen. Wow.
lol, can't you see it is 3.3" HVGA TFT
LOL someone is just read that from the first post.
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_mini_2_s6500-3883.php
I don't think it would be a super amoled, but it's written there.
I don't trust galaxy mini 2's leaked specs, also if it's true then it will be + 110% more expensive.
If anyone dreams this I only suggest is to have patients & wait for the future for more hyped phones.

The S7550 is great for the average user who doesnt require all the glitz and glam that comes attached with the high-end devices, your Galaxy S2's for example.
I was expecting a disappointing smartphone when I purchased my Galaxy Mini, I knew it wasnt going to be like my prodocessor phone, Galaxy Ace but it surprised me. Its probably just as good in many ways, and with custom ROM attached is the same.
Only downfall is the screen quality, if its set to improve then I might just get the new one.
It doesn't really seem worth it, its not that different too the mini
and the AMOLED will make it a bit more expensive, so it won't be 'mini' the mini is supposed too be cheap!
Now here's 800Mhz processor version of Galaxy Mini (Named as Galaxy Pop Plus S5570i)
NB: Galaxy Mini in India is known as Galaxy Pop.

Seems Galaxy Ace is also getting a "Plus"

That new device will cost as much as the first Mini when it got released. Everything gets better and cheaper. If SGS2 were released 5 years ago I'd cost like 2k$. And AMOLED is nothing special nowadays. I think there is Super AMOLED+ now.

I ported HTC One X to Note, is it safe?

Hi
Using dsixda's Android Kitchen I managed to port HTC One X to Galaxy Note.
I used Cynogen ROM made by Imilka in this port.
I have the Ported ROM zip, but I don't know if it safe to flash or not.
What do you think?
BR
No, it is not safe to flash the rom design for htc one x since the hardwares are different.

DON'T BE STUPID... DON'T FLASH IT!!!
Well, I did it before ported Desire to Dell streak 5 and it work fine except that the screen was up down
But now I'm afraid that it will break my Note
It will work if the hardware is similar. Remember you cannot use the rom designed for the SGN N7000 on the AT&T Galaxy Note. You might brick your Note if you try it.
What I understood ROM has two components Kernel and OS,
Porting other device rom will merage Note kernel to other device OS.
So in worst case the Note will not boot.
BUT I want to confirm this from any expert porting devs.
BR
Plz man dont do it,many here already breaked their notes using note roms, and u will use onex rom?,why the risk?

To be honest I might do it in the weekend
Well the Desire and Streak have a very similar hardware (even same SoC which is the most important in porting ROMs) maybe that's why it worked out fine for you last time but the Note and One X are completely different platforms..
OK this is very important info, I thought they are different.
Thanks for help.
Thanks god,we have saved the life of this poor galaxy note

I had planned to start looking at porting this myself, sense roms have been ported to a range of none htc devices in the past and I bet with a good amount of work I could get something to boot, but likely not sense 4 as it requires you to have the image processing chip to get the camera working correctly, but sense 3.6 may well work.....

Galaxy Tab 8.9 is a joke: half of screen is dim and weird keyboard

Received new Galaxy Tab 8.9 WiFi from Amazon..
Half screen is dimmer, there is a green tint at the conners and wtf is wrong with that keyboard? They must be joking with button layout like this?

Though it's probably still the thinnest and lightest ~9-10inch tablet on the market right now. Pretty cheap too. By the way I had galaxy tab 8.9 3G and it didn't have any of this nonsense. So I was wondering it's just one broken device, or tab 8.9 wifi version is a really cheap low quality model? Or maybe it's just Samsung, not the first or even second their device that have screen issues.
Looks like a French keyboard layout. It should be pretty obvious that the screen should not have a sharp brightness change halfway across, so that seems likely to be a hardware fault.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Obviously its working as intended, doesnt take a genius to see that
I just wondering to replace it with another WIFI version or upgrade to 3G, though I'm always using 3G tethering over wifi from my phone anyway.
I've got it from Amazon.co.uk, but it seems like a French version, though there wasn't a single mention about that. Anyway it's just a matter of flashing another ROM.

I'd be getting a new one from Amazon. That's really not good. You mention 'another rom', is the tab running stock in the photo? If so, definitely needs to be returned. If not, then try going back to stock and see if it goes away.
I think it's broken... :S
It could also be some unannounced 3D model and he forgot to use the glasses.
j/k
Seriously, send it back.
Actually, this layout is only used in Belgium (azerty). Something went wrong with first initialization, is pretty easy to solve in the settings.
The screen though, it's strange that it's exactly on 50%. Not good, send it back!
Sent from my GT-P7510 using XDA Premium HD app
It's all stock. It's definitely a screen problem anyway, I've noticed even some burnin (google search button, chrome tabs on weather widget).
Try a last thing, go into recovery and see if the problem is still there
hahaha ,,,
Im curious how it will be if I rotate it :laugh::laugh:
Go back to the SAV
I've bought a new one on amazon.fr this month without any of your issues but (happiness?) the french azerty keyboard. I agree about the fact that the french keyboard isn't well designed but it works well and you can change it by swipe or another one like you wish.
Have you change the locale in parameters in order to change the keyboard mapping?
Warranty service replaced whole screen and even ROM version to Lithuanian. So it seems a pretty decent tablet now.
Though very slow because of Android 3.2, so I'll have to try something else maybe Cyanogenmod 10.

Don't use Samsung's widgets (they make the tablet crawl), and install ADW Launcher Ex, you'll notice a big improvement to start with.

Yes, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Black Edition GT-I9195 has a 4.3-inch display, I also think it is a little bit small. I think 5.0-inch smartphone is perfect, and most of the phones have that size.
