Let's get this thread going. I know if android never came about I would be using some kind of Nokia flagship device.

Definitely wp7, so clean and intuitive, it makes me sometime regret trading for a droid...

I would probably have a dumb phone still. The only network that has service at my house is verizon, and the way I see it without android the iPhone would still be exclusive to ATT so I couldn't get that. Also, without the iPhone and Android's success Microsoft may not have felt such pressure to improve, and WinMo would be more like 6.5 was then Windows Phone 7. Blackberry's all seemed business too so that would be beyond that. That all happening I wouldn't really see any smartphone as usable for me. If however everything was the exact same, and android just disappeared today I think I'd get a HTC Trophy on VZW.

I'd be using a feature phone. Might have paid the insurance deductible to get my Juke replaced lol.

id still be using and hacking my rokr e8. damn i miss that thing.....
Probably some feature phone. I was considering the iPhail at one point, but it was too generic for me
Well i have a iphone now bc i cldnt turn down the trade but b4 android i never had a iphone i always used what looked the best lol!
100% without a doubt the iphone.

Probably some half-decent social phone. I could'nt live without Android!
WP7... never Ios :-D

I would have gotten the iPhone. I'm kicking myself still for getting Android instead -.-
WebOS phone although HPalm sucks at build quality. I love the OS but another manufacturer needs to start building the hardware etc
I'd be using the iPhone probably...
It's a great product afterall, only thing I don't like that much is the control Apple exerts on what you install on it. So if there's no Android, I'd probably own a jail-broken iPhone.
I just want my phone to be, well, mine.
It would have to be iOS. In my opinion, Android is better, but not by much compared to iOS. It's a great operating system and I would have to choose that particular OS.
I would stay with Windows Mobile. All other newer phone OS suck.

WP7... Ahthough im gonna switch anyway even if android exists

I guess i'd have stuck with Windows, so i'd be rocking a WP7 device.
I probably would have kept my HTC HD2 lol

Wife has a d4 and it's got this rild process running all the time.
What is it and can I safely kill it with titanium backup?

It is probably the Radio Interface Layer Daemon. Not something you want to disable.
Its a horrible implementation if true. Sucks battery down like a son of a gun. Any hack tips for root users In this case?

Haven't experienced it since thunderbolt, but battery pull worked there. It was actually a common issue on that device.
I read an article where it stated that since webOS went open source. Some developers are succesful in porting it ro android devices. I want to know how true it is and is there any flashable for our galaxy note???

It will be impossible without proper sources for hardware drivers.
but you can try

Web os itself may be fine to import, but it's still so new, as previous poster said it's the kernel that needs the real work per device.

If I knew how, i'd even help.

I was going to start a thread on this, but the search function turned this one up, recently Open WebOS has been spotted in the wild on a Galaxy Nexus and the Asus Nexus 7, so does this bring us any closer to a Note port? or even better a way to dualboot both similar to the HP Touchpad would be awesome! are their any devs actively working on this since i can't seem to find any info around the forums / internet in general, but i think there would be quite a lot of interest and plenty would be willing to test it if someone with the skills was able to make it happen
I like webos because its plain and simple and can do the basic required work if u succed in getting any info regarding its port then feel free to post.

Sorry to revive but if I had WebOS on my GT-N7000 it'd be like heaven in my palm!! We can't allow the Nexus to have this over us! Sorry to say but IMHO, WebOS smoothness and multitasking ability straight kills both android and iOS! (I have an iPhone, Note I, and Palm Pre). Sign me up if we need a team to get this going on our n7000.
Its also my wish to get the webos on my note or any other mobile device. I am now fed up of android and their spying data collection stuff. The permissions just feaks me out when a simple game says it needs to read the phone book and call logs. Wtf where the hell an app needs to get these permissions. The second is the location thing. they just make us use their os because of the wow factor. Ignoring what its doing to UA

For a project at school, I am wanting to use the raspberry pi to detect the CPU, Ram and fan speeds and temperatures of my PC and display them on a miniature LCD screen mounted to the front of the chassis. Does anyone see this as being possible?
I need a way to connect the Pi to the motherboard of my pc, and I need to find a way to do this in python, which should be possible I believe.

A bit overkill, why you simply don't use simple atmega?

Yes that's what I want to do!
Yes, this is possible. Tho as stated the raspberry pi is overkill for just an LCD, but you could also run a webserver on it with all the data or something like that .

Yeah I might run either a web server or network management of some description.
Yes, you're right, the Pi is overkill. But programming in a high level language is quite easier than struggling with C. Beyond, a programming board is usually way more expensive than the Pi.
@TO: I would store the data in a web server and display it via my smartphone.
With leaked information on the possible upcoming HTC Harmony Windows Phone. Would there be possibilities of hot swapping the incredible sleek HTC One from android to the under credited windows phone firmware. I have little knowledge of the possibilities and would like for you top techy experts to give some of your input and insight on the matter.
No is the simple answer
