well i flashed my hpone to cyanogen 6 but everything kept force closing so i just went to fastboot and updated with dream.nbh and it went back to stock but now something called android.process.media or something keeps force closing and i cant go onto market to download terminal emulator cuz it jus says i dont have wifi when i do and brwoser doesnt looad and if i update again with that same thing. when i try to go to recovery menu it gets stuck on the triangle with a ! and i dont know how to get passt to so i can factory reset so someone please help!

update i just factory reset and im experiencing the same problems some one please help

when you get to triangle screen you press 'alt' and 'L' on the keyoard to get to the recovery options... but on stock you can only flash official ota update.zip files.. you need to be on 1.5 to root device. than you can flash custom recovery, radio and spl to getetter roms... is youe device US model or UK model?

help please?

I think i bricked my phone by fallowing this tutorial.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3874647&postcount=406
It happened after flashing the spl.
My phone will not go past the white "t-mobile g1" splash screen.
thank you for reading.
Damn, another brick? Did you make sure you had a PVT board and not the DVT-1, DVT-2 boards? It's a known problem with the Special SPL that it pretty much bricks DVT board phones...at least so far. (check by booting with camera+power if possible, board type is shown on the first line of text)
Can you boot using home+power? Are you just stuck at the Splash screen? If so, after about 10 mins the screen will change, giving you an triangle error symbol. At this point push Alt+L. This should give you the recovery utility, where you will have access to wipe (you should prob do one) and reflash a rom.
Of course this is all assuming you have root already.
i dont know if i actually got root i fallowed some tutorial on that too today i can do both of those boots but dont know how to flash anymore updates with my phone stuck like this

Click to collapse
Ok, so what you need to do is this:
1. Wait for the error message //remember it sometimes takes 10 mins or so
2. open keyboard, hit Alt+L //this will toggle your phone to the recovery utility
3. If you have root, you may have a recovery utility that says "JF version 1.43", if not you have the stock recovery utility
4. If you have root, you could try to DL pretty much any rom although I might try the Ion rom for its stability and simplicity //there are tons of instructions for flashing a new rom
5. If no root, search in the Dev section of the Dream forum for an OTA ( Over The Air, ie. stock) rom. In particular, search for Dreaimg.nbh, and read the instructions for reflashing it. This will help you gain root.
6. reboot, and enjoy (hopefully)
If none of that works, you can find the "Bricked G1's" thread on the Dev section too. I think your prob out of luck, but it's possible someone has/or is coming close to a fix.
re flashing ill let you know the out come
lol you didnt brick it since u can access the recovery image.
anyways what happened to me yesterday, i flashed latest radio, the latest spl and it wouldnt boot. i flashed a new system image but still no boot (t-mobile screen). I wiped the system (data partition) from recovery boot, and reflashed with a new system image, worked ok... so from what i get, u need to wipe / reflash system, if you upgrade spl...
is by using a card reader on a pc the only way to flash a different img if this happens to you?
my phone is in root and i'm on the same g1 screen. if i take the battery out i can boot to recovery mode but my only options are alt-w and alt-s. i've tried wiping and reflashing with the same spl img and it's not resolving anything.

[Q] Think I screwed up?

Ok so I have an unlocked Nexus One that I rooted when I first got the phone 6 months ago. I've been running CM6 no problems at all, everything has been great.
Heres where my problem starts I decided to flash the stock frf91 image onto the phone and did not check superuser permissions or whatever option they gave me before i did it. I was doing this because I thought I was selling my phone. Now I'm not and want to go back to CM6.
The problem is I cant get into recovery at all I get the error with the ! in a triangle with android standing next to it. I've searched everywhere and tried everything. Fastboot and ADB gives me errors like waiting for device (even though my drivers are up to date and it recognizes the phone?) or status failed too many links.
I tried doing a backup from my nandroid information through my nandroid backups on my computer (aka pulling system.img etc) I tried going through the terminal but Im getting denied superuser permissions.
Im just not sure where to go from here ive looked through so many articles and threads and posts and im very confused.
After I flashed the stock image I thought i would still be able to boot into recovery but i guess i dont have recovery? I try to flash the recovery but with no avail.
Anyone have any advice or even just somewhere to start I would really appreciate it. Thanks
When u flashed the stock rom it wasnt a rooted version so u have the stock recovery search for how to root the stock Rom once rooted u can put a custom recovery on there hope this helps
The procedures for the different handsets kind of blur together in my memory, so just want to check.
When you booted into recovery and got the "!" screen with the android did you try holding either the volume up, or volume down key <along with the power button> to bring up the menu?
The ! With the Android is the stock recovery image if I remember correctly if u press the power button the menu should pop up

[Q] Kinda Bricked My Milestone

I had a perfectly running milestone on SHOLS_U2_02.27.B (Arabic Build). I flashed the phone using rsdlite 4.9 using G.O.T. 2.2.1 UK sbf. Everything worked perfect and the phone booted up and I had android 2.2.1.
When I tried to get into recovery mode nothing happened. I tried using the camera+power and x+power and it still didn't work.
I rooted the phone using universal androot and used quick boot to boot in recovery. I got the exclamation mark in a triangle, however, pressing the volume up and camera didn't work after like 50 tries.
I thought that something was wrong so I flashed the phone back to my original build using rsdlite.
Rsdlite works fine until it reboots the phone. The phone gets past the motorola logo however it gets stuck on the android logo. The android logo appears disappears appears... and so on. I left it there for 30 minutes and the same thing kept happening.
I reflashed back to G.O.T. UK 2.2.1 and it worked again, no problems.
I tried many official builds (UK 2.0, Arabic 2.1,Arabic 2.1update2,UK 2.1) and I get the same results.
I tried the G.O.T. 2.2.1 Telus sbf and it worked.
So to sum it all up, I can't flash anything but a G.O.T. build and I can't get into recovery mode. I can only get into bootloader.
Thanks for any help in advanced...
im new to moto droid , but if it seems to be bricked try a unrooting guide, that tends to get you back to were you need to be.
and if that does not work i say trying to download rom manager and flashing " clockwork recovery"
hope this helps bro
I tried rom manager and the main problem is that I can't access recovery so any unrooting/recovery guides are useless.
At this point I believe that the phone is damaged. I think I'll just flash it with an official rom and then return it as non working.
Have you tried restoring nandroid via ADB?
Hmm I have no idea how, could you tell me how or link me to a guide please?
Have you tried flashing the 90.78 Bootloader? cos this Bootloader allows you to enter the recovery mode by pressing the 'X'+power button and volume up+camera button after the triangle with exclamation mark appears.
Don't forget to extract G.O.T OpenRecovery.zip/Androidiani OpenRecovery.zip at the root of your sdcard. Once you've entered the recovery 2e(all the alphabets are in blue), select apply update. Without OpenRecovery installed in your sdcard, the apply update is useless.
If those method still couldn't get into the recovery mode,i suggest you need to flash vulnerable_recovery.sbf after you flash to stock ROM or any one you like. Google for OpenRecovery_v1_46_SHOLS. In the zip file contains the .sbf
I am on the 90.78 bootloader, I tried everything you just said before and nothing works. At this point I believe it's a hardware error. I will just flash the phone with the official sbf and replace it using warranty. Thanks for the suggestions though.

G1 won't boot

Hey guys, today my friend asked me to fix his G1 for him because it wouldn't boot. I thought I could figure it out, but I have tried a bunch of different things, and non of them have worked. It gets passed the G1 screen, but then shows a phone with an exclamation mark above it (pic below). Can anyone help me?
Nobody? It refuses to downgrade to RC29 or RC7. I have no idea what is wrong. It will not boot into the bootloader either. End + Camera does nothing.
when you get to that screen can you get to the menu by pressing alt + L?
I can get to the menu, but when I try to flash an update it says update aborted.
what type of update did you try to flash? stock recovery can only flash ota updates try just wiping and rebooting.. if nothing than you can always try rooting... but becareful, you might want to make sure he or you has a data plan
If your friend just want to get it back to working G1 without rooting it. All you have to do is download the dreaming.nbh file and reflash it using camera+power.
Then it will be reloaded with Android 1.0. After that autoupdate will upgrade it to 1.6. In this case you will need someone with a data plan. If not then you'll have to use ADB to turn on wifi.
The thing is the power+camera doesn't do anything, just takes me to the same screen. I think it must just be broken because, with his permission, I took it apart and found it has water damage. It has also been dropped a lot. Thanks for the help!

[Q] I believe I have successfully 100% bricked the G2

EDIT: Wish I could delete this. Just found a post about how to fix this...but it involves opening the phone and messing with the hardware. Wish someone could walk me through it :s
So, I hope I didn't, but here is the scenario:
Wanted to install Lollipop ROM from KitKat...tried, failed, found out I needed to have a downgraded radio. Okay...use LG Flash Tool to give myself another try. Load up Jellybean...couldn't figure out how to flash custom recovery in Jellybean as all tutorials are outdated or just didn't work when I tried them, so I thought the best way to do it was to get the Kitkat OTA from Verizon and let it install, then flash a custom recovery (since I figured out how to do that with Kitkat...Autorec), then flash the old radio then the Lollipop ROM and voilĂ . However, when waiting for the download for Verizon OTA, I tried again to install a custom recovery, and when tried to load it, I just got a black screen. So I just decided to go back into the Android OS and install the OTA once it finished downloading...
The OTA finished downloading and I clicked install, my phone then rebooted...and stupid me didn't even realise what I have just done. The OTA tried going to recovery mode to install...but there's nothing there. Now I am stuck at a black screen that is trying to start recovery mode and when trying to reboot and get into download mode, it won't let me and just goes to the broken recovery mode.
So...can't really think of any other options for me. What can I do? When I plug it into my computer, it connects my phone as like 20 different drive letters that all say they need to be formatted.
So my question is...what can I do?
