[Q] What's the model code label behind the battery?
Can some one please provide us the exact model code, from the label behind the battery compartment in the phone.
for example GT-I9000
it'll also be helpful to include the manufacture date, something like 10.12
thanks
Code
GT-I9001
There's no date on the label, but there's a date on the battery: 2011/06/09 (y/m/d)

not on the battery
the date of the phone manufactured is usually located at the bottom of the S/N and IMEI bar codes

Yeah, well it wasn't, sorry.
Checking / unchecking the " protect ops" did the trick for me... If your flash hangs, try again with the other option.

I had similar problem (got stuck in 7/15 ext4)... i changed computer and cable... my 9001 is now 2.3.4 and rooted.
Yeah, there isn't anything about manufacturing date.
Only this stuff:
Model: GT-I9001
SSN: -I9001GSMH
FCC ID: A3LGTI9001
Imei & ssn.
I saw manufacturing date somewhere but i've flashed my phone allready... Can someone check: Settings.. Info. If i remember correctly it was there.
[Q] Will the i9001 Lagfix come out?
Will it comes out or not?
i guess Samsung changed the way how they mark the manufacturing date.
it used to be like that for all their other phones, including the Nexus S
Please don't post questions here in development section. A separate thread is made by the mod for Q&A only.

how are you guys updating the phone to 2.3.4? i'm on 2.3.3 and i tried connecting to kies and it said that i am on the latest firmware...
No problem about date, i liked your review as i was considering both. Thanks
I used: ODIN 4.4.3. (Aries VE)
Heard something that they're using that same program in repair shops.
You will lose all your data from phone if you update. Played games, txt messages etc.
When I rooted my phone I saw that battery life is shorter than before? Is it possible ? Before root battery holds 2 days now is only one, and sometimes it has much problem with it. When I leave phone on entire night about 8 hours it eats 20-25% battery, before maybe 10%. I attached 2 screenshot of working my phone at night (this is after root, I don't have before root), this phone was unpluged before I went to bed.
[Q] Wich version do you have
i have bought an i9001. i have xxKG1 on it. It's a 2.3.3. Are there others with this version. Any bugs???
XXKP4, 2.3.4.
At least these versions exist:
Europe:
I9001XEKE8
I9001XXKF8
I9001XXKP4
I9001XXKG3
Provider:
I9001BOKF6
Arabic:
I9001JPKF7
I9001JPKG1
Source: samfirmware
it is possible that after root you started an app which was running overnight and your battery life has been eaten because of that...try killing all the running apps and check if it still continues.
Personally, i've had experience with loads of devices and even though if "SuperUser" is consuming battery, it is not by much !
XXKF8 with 2.3.3 (Netherlands)
Strange that my version can't be found on samfirmware.
O yeah. I live in Belgium. (Flanders)

Could you have forgotten to replace the protected bootloaders?
You should have given it a full charge before you tweaked your tab.
Anyway, try to give it a full charge plugged into the wall, then try again.
So you didn't even give it a first boot? Should have at least done that and checked for protected bootloaders...
without more detail... Yeah... As ranger said, you didn't even give it a full charge?

Edited for swypos
i mean perhaps it was 90 percent charged
and yes i had it already booted into froyo. I mean the first one wasn't protected so i guess i jumped the gun. But i don't think the boot loader was the issue.
knew i shouldn't have put the screen protector on.. always curses me.. hehe

you'll shock if you know that he post this Q in the general section 2 times ....
i didn't mean to post twice...
you guys are trolls...
I bricked my device and i was quite upset... Why i reposted smart guy was to redo the title so that someone would verify my steps were correct.
You havent shown me anything yet that answers my questions. Sending me to a Q & A post didn't help anything. I read that **** before i even even bought the phone. I don't need you to tell me the differences between bricks..
the **** charged all night last night and i let it run all the way down before hoping it would discharge. I had just flashed my other one that had a bad pixel the night before and i had no issues. I did the same steps as before.
i find it funny you guys are more worried about where i posted then the actual issue.
If you want to talk about a waste.. you have wasted space with your nonsense all day replying to this thread with no useful information.
This is my 6 android device and first one i even bricked so spare me. I followed the steps exactly just like i did the day before with no issues. Your so cool sending me to the Q & A because i posted twice.
All I said is that I got confused by your title. That's it. I didn't come here to troll or say that you shouldn't post here or there or anything like that.

Lets keep it civil and help this guy get his tab fixed eh folks......
to the OP .. can you tell me what tab you have , your firmware ? ? old stock rom you have ? lets go serious now
I went to tmobile and got my old one back.
I returned the bricked one and got back the one with 1 dead pixel. I already had it good to go with 2.3.3 so im going to leave it alone for now.
It would be nice if i could still understand why it happend.
it came with froyo
tmobile sgh-t849 2.2
i flashed the GB_Stock_Safe_v3.tar which is 2.3.3. It just said failed with no other information. At this point i would be weary of using odin on my desktop.
iv used odin alot in the past and never really had any issues
is your tab can call ? sorry for my dumb question .. your tab is GSM P1000 ?
@OP can you be more fast to reply . its 4:33am here .. so be fast !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The OP has already told us TWICE that his device is a Tmobile SGH-T849 meaning that it is NOT an SGT-P1000

I beg to differ
@OP
There is no reason why you can't flash Overcome
Having a TMO SGH-T849 is certainly no brickable offence in terms of using Overcome
While the problem may no longer exist, it's definitely worth investigating to know why you had problems (also to get you over your newly acquired fear of Odin )
Is there the slightest possibility the cable was nudged or such?
You seem to be comfortable using ODIN and your setup must be OK if you've flashed your current Tab before so I'm thinking it might have been a freak accident of some sort
Off late i am facing serious issues with my samsung galaxy s.
Model Details:
Number: GT-I9000
Firmware Version 2.3.3
Baseband Version: I9000DDJV5
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7-I9000DDJV9-CL312456
[email protected] #2
Issue
1. The Mobile Turns -off Abruptly
2. The battery status fluctates a lot. At times it warns me for low battery but when i Plug the charger it shows a higher level. If the cable shakes a bit, it say fully charged. When I unplug it shows some other level of the battery
3. Mobile Data (3G/2G) gets disconnected
Things done so far:
1. Reset Factory Data
2. Reloaded the OS from the Samsung Customer Care.
Nothing has been helpful.
Can someone from XDA throw some light!
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I have *exactly* the same battery level/charging/turning off problem with the I9000. I am sure it has not been exposed to water, or any extreme weather condition.
I suspect "rooting" might be a solution. While I am absolutely new to rooting (and xda), and I plan to do the requisite trawling of the forum to learn how to root - my only question is this: do you reckon it would solve this issue? Is something more drastic like a hardware replacement required?
Highly appreciate any help - thanks!

Just for future viewers of this post (I am sure there are tons of SGS users experiencing battery issues) - I solved this by going for a custom ROM. Currently running Slim Bean 2.3 (with Semaphore 2.0.6 for JB) and it works like a charm thanks developers!
Using Cm9.1 RC2 by Maclaw at the moment on my Galaxy Ace, however, my phone shows the Koodo network labelled as TELUS.
Doesn't affect my ability to use the phone and messaging services, but it is still really annoying and could get me in trouble from my parents.
Anyone know how to fix this?
PS. shows up as a TELUS Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 on the Play Store under devices. I bought it from Koodo and shows up as a KDO Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 on Selfserve.
Swapped over to RC4.1 by Wayland_ACE. Still any chances of a fix? Interface doesn't seem to have changed much.

Is it on the lock screen that it's displaying Telus ( who owns Koodo btw ) ? I don't use that particular rom, but on my current rom which is CM7 based, I have an option in CyanogenMod settings, interface, status bar tweaks that allows custom txt. You could simply change that to Koodo and thats how it will show. Sorry I couldn't be more specific, but I hope that helps a bit.

Yes its on the lock screen and in the notification drawer. But there are no 'Cyanogenmod Settings. Just a category labelled 'Interface' with Launcher, Lock Screen, Themes, and System options. I'm now using CM9.1 RC4.1 by Wayland_ACE, and I have the same issue. Could you provide a specific tutorial for how to do that? I can't seem to find that text editor.

Try under system, thats where the interface option is on my current rom. for me it's system, interface, status bar tweaks, carrier label type ((choose custom text), then under custom carrier label you can type in koodo.

Umm, telus and koodo are the same network, so it doesn't really matter...I don't think there is an option in Cm9.1 RC2 to change the carrier text. If you will get in trouble for this by your parents, them are some odd and observant parents you got there...better go back to stock using odin before you get grounded.
You are correct. Mention it at the store and see the reaction, kinda funny.

LOL. Right. Like I'm going to show Koodo my rooted phone. They'll love me for that. Bye-bye warranty.
But it is true, occasionally when I running stock my Ace would actually try and fail to use TELUS's network. Would require a battery pull to fix.
I'll just have to be careful then.

True, it's just funny because every rants on about how "I'm not supporting local development because RIM's HQ is in town, blah... blah... blah..."

Sorry to drag up the dead here, but...Were you able to find any more ROMS that were completely compatible with your Koodo phone? I installed the Democracy NT ROM (compatible with Telus) and after the install I had lost my efs settings. I was able to find the correct settings to apply online...but I've had a fairly difficult time finding ROMS that are 100% compatible with this particular carrier.
Of course...could just be that I'm not really quite sure what I'm doing...

Encryption will always be reset when you install a new ROM, as far as I know, EFS settings have nothing to do with your carrier and more to do with the actual device and file system. I don't think encrypting your phone will affect the performance of your network operation.
I no longer use the Galaxy Ace, but when I did I never had any issue with operating on Koodo's network (so long as the ROM I was using had a functional radio).
Basically any ROM with a functional radio built for your device should work with both Telus and Koodo's networks. If you have a Koodo SIM, you should be able to operate on Koodo's Network if your phone is either locked to Koodo or unlocked for function with any GSM network.
NOTE: Your ROM may display "Telus" instead of "Koodo" on the lockscreen and the notification drawer. The phone still runs on Koodo, it just displays Telus because the networks use the same frequencies. This little issue can be corrected by checking to see if your ROM offers the ability to edit the carrier name, or by installing the Xposed Framework and a module (such as XBlast Tools) that adds this functionality.
Your device will likely show as a TELUS Samsung Galaxy Ace on the Play Store regardless, but that is simply because Telus owns Koodo and they use the same device models.
Hope I helped, let me know if you have further questions.

Also important, what apps you have installed and what stuff syncs on your phone. There's just a lot of factor that may contribute to bad battery.
I don't know if I've seen anyone else with a Korean version here.

This is a known issue. Please visit samsung's support website and on the top right hand corner you will see a feedback option. Click on it and send them a feedback with your detailed issue. I have done almost everything on earth to stop this happening. Nothing works. After the aoj5 update battery doesn't last more than 3 hours. My hope is that if enough people raise the issue samsung will fix it.

I am not sure tbh. I did notice that they only list the PDA and CSC. Keep an eye on news from samsung to see if they push an update and check the sammobile for new firmwares. Once you see a new one appear just flash it. It would probably have an updated baseband.

I mean fake ones wouldnt be QHD, would be very slow, low benchmark obviously and it should never be able to run jelly bean.. if you go to about phone, you'll see software info, status, battery info, they should have N920 in them (specially baseband). Download an app like hardware info for more information about the device. But from what you described, it looks to be fake.

Fake IMEI number, Fake serial number.
The baseband leads to a website called 'CloneROM' which doesn't seem promising either.
You have a fake phone.

Changing the IMEI and serial number will be dependent on the hardware, a custom ROM will not change those.

I can't answer that question since that isn't my expertise. I would advise you to contact the seller of the phone and file a complaint.

You will obviously state what issues you have with the device.
That the device is fake.
It's certainly 100% fake. The site for CloneRom seems to be made for Chinese fake phone makers, What they all have in common is they use a octocore MediaTek (Which Samsung would NEVER use)
https://www.clonerom.com/category/galaxy-note-5
Also if you look at the base band date, it's from 2014. The Note 5 was officially released in Aug or so 2015 which is a dead give away it's fake. Also the IMEI is fake and could actually be blocked by carrier as there could be duplicates with that IMEI so they'll just block the phone so it doesn't take down the network. Each IMEI needs to be UNIQUE.
Go get your money back ASAP and buy a REAL Note 5 or Galaxy S7
Tell the guy you checked out the CPU, It's not meant to be a MediaTek (Only Exynos).
It's Running Kitkat instead of Lollipop.
It's got a bad Serial number and also bad IEMI (which is the worst thing)
stab him :| (after you take your money back)
end of the story

Post a pic of your stylus, so we can see if it's just broken or a fake.
