Hello @all,
tonight I am going to publish my first Pandahome Theme.
I tried to let it look like Windows 7, I hope I had success
This theme took me 3 days. Many pixelwork
Well, here is a list of some Features:
-Windows 7 Wallpaper
-Windows 7 transparent Taskbar
-Windows Logo Orb placed on tastbar, shiny when pressed
-Windows 7 icons for Android Apps
-Background of drawer is transparent with blue-turquoise colors
-Clock has been replaced with a blue one, with windows shiny logo in the middle
-Delete handle replaced with a recycle bin, which is empty until you put an app onto it, then it becomes full
-The ugly orange app selection has been replaced with the transparent blue of WIndows 7(doesn't work with widgets, its not pandahomes business)
-XML-file changed to use png instead of jpg for background and drawer
Just unzip and copy apt file on your sd-card, then add and apply it in pandahome.
I tested this on my Galaxy with IK4 Firmware and 1.8? Beta Pandahome.
Works very smooth and stable on me.
PS: Theme doesnt look so ugly like the screenshots, its because of the sdk.
It would be cool if someone could help me with the digital clock in the upper right. I'm trying to move it to the bottom right, like windows, but i couldnt do it so far.
Have fun!
EDIT: There is a "gedrückt" on the second picture, it means "pressed".It's there because I posted this Theme in a german forum before.
REWARD:
Any skinner that creates and either posts or sends me a valid OMC theme to publish gets the full app for free!
One More Clock! has been on the market for a few weeks, and recently I've added a powerful skinning engine to the app. However, what's a good skinning engine without skins? The first place I thought of was XDA.
So without further ado:
The app is available on the market as One More Clock Free... the apk is also attached.
1) Add one OMC widget to your home screen. Then click on the clock to get to the options screen.
2) Click on "Widget Theme" to download the starter pack. After that is done, you will have an /OMC folder on your sd card.
3) Click on "Enable/Disable Widget Sizes" from the prefs screen and enable Theme Tester. Back out until you get back to your home screen.
4) The attached 4 tutorials can then be unzipped over the existing content in the OMC folder.
5) Look at the 00control.xml file in each of the four folders for a detailed tutorial on how OMC skinning works!
The OMC Theme Tester (the Raccoon) is a handy tool for rapid tweaks and changes to your theme:
1) Once you have a valid basic xml file, copy the theme folder to the SD card using ADB explorer or similar.
2) Fire up the OMC theme tester on your phone/emulator, and select your theme from the list.
3) the 4x2, 4x1 and 3x1 widgets are rendered onscreen and re-read from sdcard every 3 seconds.
4) make any changes you have for the fonts, bitmaps or 00control.xml file from your computer, and push to the phone via ADB to see the changes instantly!
When you're happy with the theme, just zip up the theme folder and rename the extension to .omc .
To offer downloads of the theme to paid users, after you upload the .omc file, rename the http:// to omc:// and https:// to omcs:// . OMC (paid version) is configured to automatically install any themes found at an omc: link, no download/unzip required.
Thanks!
I guess I can go first, too...
Since I laid down a reward for skinners, I guess I should prove OMC to be worth your time. Here you go (Iron Indicant)... this theme was created in 2 hours over the last two days (mostly photoshopping the background).
The clock face rotates with the time of day. There aren't many clock widgets out there that can render that...
Or this one (Hello Droid) - just something fun and different. Can I interest anyone?
Or how about this (Vertical)?
And second...
Here's a theme that a tester submitted to me earlier. Anyone interested?
And third.
Just one more for today - Dyma Dynamics.
Thanks for looking, please read the whole post
Please note that although based on and named Revolution HD this theme should work on ANY 1.72 based hd rom

New power bar can be easily customized or edited and changed back to rom default.
You can have any amount of toggles up to the amount of 6.
To choose which toggles are in the power bar you need to open up "widget.txt" in a text editor and change the toggles as you wish. widget.txt can be found in /system/customize in the theme zip file.
The following toggles can be used:
toggleAirplane
toggleAutoRotate
toggleBluetooth
toggleBrightness
toggleFlashlight
toggleGPS
toggleLockScreen
toggleMobileData
toggleScreenTimeout
toggleSleepMode
toggleSound
toggleSync
toggleWifi
Default values are:
toggleWifi|toggleBluetooth|toggleGPS|toggleSound|toggleFlashlight|toggleBrightness
After changing them just drag and drop the widget.txt back into the zip and then flash.
Now to change between having the power bar and the stock recent apps you need to edit the "notification_config.txt" which is also in /system/customize
Default is "enablePowerControl"
Simply change to "enableRecentApps" without the quotes to revert back to the recent apps list. (currently this will leave a black bar above the recent app list where the power bar use to be)
Or change to "enablePowerControl|enableRecentApps" to have both power bar and recent apps

Cheers mate.
As soon as it's uploaded I will give it a shot.
Edit: Okay I see it is uploaded now. Just flashing the new 2.0.6 ROM, so will dl this and flash in a few mins.
Thanks again.
This without rosie + modified to screen toggle would be the best ever. Half of it could be done by me, changing text file name :-]. Can it be done on the phone with text manager?

I have not yet looked into this or tested this but I will look into it but if you do want a quick fix just flash 2.0.3 theme and pull blue (liamstears).apk from 2.0.6 and install it or add it to 2.0.3 zip
Applied the quick fix, that's alot better.
Cheers mate.

blue theme
hi there and thanks for the cool theme. One question though...you mention that "New Blue (liamstears) HTC Skin, access from the personalize menu", the problem is I am using Android Revolution 2.0.6 and I only have the choice of current, slate and blackboard themes. Where do I find the blue one?

Me too (other than the few other Skin's I have downloaded), cant see the liamstears skin either.
Cheers
Edit - Tried above - Application not installed ?
tried to install it with ES File explorer but is kept saying "application not installed"...any other suggestions?
i know what error is i will fix in 24 hours
ok all fixed please re-download and re-flash then all will be working :-D
Cheers, will have a go. It took me nearly 3 hrs to download the last one (much faster this time).
Also, 1 more thing. When I try to modify the .zip file so that I have both the powercontrol & recent apps, the flashing bit falls over. I tried searching the forum on a guide to edit .zip files but came up with nothing.
I was trying to do it just on my PC, but the flash fails ??

Its just a simple drag and drop operation for editing the zip and as for re-download you can just drag and drop the attached apk to the zip you already have to make the process quicker but make sure it goes in the right folder ;-)
Thanks mate.
Skin is working now.
I will try the notification bar edit soon.
Thanks.
Hi everybody!
First of all, I am using Buzz Launcher, which means that my "themes" are made following specific parameters such as the grid size, no labels, etc.
But I think that other launchers allow you to customize your appearence as well.
My phone resolution is 854*480.
I had a 720p one but had to send it back, so for now I can't work on that resolution anymore.
So for those having higher resolutions, well I don't know what the result would be on your screens. Except for wallpapers, I guess icons would be displayed well.
Before sharing my files, I'd like to show you what I've done so far and get your opinion: if you like it or not, what I could/should change, etc.
This to get a nice final result.
And obviously I won't and never will sell those resources because:
- I'm using some stuff such as photographs from other persons
- Some icons are directly made from other icons you can find on the Play Store or Google Image
- I'm here to share
To be edited later (once I have posted 10 messages and can freely post direct links):
I. Icons only
II. Backgrounds only
III. Themes: icons + backgrounds
I. ICONS
II. BACKGROUNDS
III. THEMES
Hey!
One of my nicest try so far: a panda theme! (I love pandas)
The panda is partially made from an iPhone game icon named Land-a-panda (see the attached pictures).
Those icons are for HD displays (720p): 144x144. Work fine on lower resolutions.
And I've "made" a few backgrounds too, giving quite a cool result when used with those icons.
Also, because it's quite boring to always have the same face, I just added 2 other kinds of eyes (see Viber and Video Player icons).
What do you think? Worth sharing them?
Any idea welcome
Let's keep up the monologue.
Seems not be be very interesting. Whatever, I'm sharing my work anyway.
Let's begin with the icons:
192 icons (64 app with 3 different kinds of pandas), pretty high quality: 144x144. See the sample below.
And if you are wondering: yes, it took me ages to save each file.
I'll share the Photoshop template once I can post direct links (man that's some weird annoying policy!), so that you can create your own icons without having to wait for updates (as I may not update this theme anyway).
If you give it a try, please share some photos/screenshots
ZIP file size: 3.62Mb
Note: if you find the icons resolution too high (say you want a 96px² size), you can use a (free) software such as ImRe to massively convert the whole folder. It perfectly and quickly does the job.
Laterz
Hey oi!
New icons, "copied" from a screenshot I saw somewhere (I think it's called themer, it's new and not compatible with all phones (not my X720D).
So here we go, 3 samples and the template file (PSD, Photoshop CS5).
The PSD is made as follow:
- A folder with the white pictures representing the icons (that's the part you really need to work on if you want to make your own icons)
- The icon's shadow (layer)
- The icon's color (layer), locked to the edit mode (you pick your color, use the brush tool and paint: it will paint ONLY the visible pixels).
Theme 5: Japanology (again)
The principle of this theme is simple: the background is the main deal, then there just needs to add the app and choose a transparent PNG to make them invisible.
Main problem with that theme: icons cannot be replaced, which means you must always keep the same applications on your screen.
edit: well it seems that uploading pictures isn't working at the moment. My PC or the servers, I don't know. I'l try to re-upload later if it keeps showing a 404.
Hum there seems to be a problem with uploading pictures from the forum. Even after having edited my post 2 times.
Hoho but I found a way to post links without having 10 posts: quotation (I hope you won't mind)
Click on each picture to enlarge it. See the above post for more information about how to use that "theme" (Buzz Launcher); Note that you must create your own date/time/battery widget (as in the screenshot below).

Can you compile apk from it? I want only add icons.
EDIT: I found it on play store.
@architjn Thanks, good work. I downloaded at github and was working 2 days on a theme.
When test compiling/run via adb I realized that changing activity_main.xml does not have any effect.
Cleaned up but had no effect. I then changed back to the original activity_main.xml and edited the 4 icons on main.
Set up background for header on my server and in strings.xml, but background image is not loading.
Icon request function not working, showing only one installed app, but there are quite some unskinned installed.
A pity that after all my work I do not get this to release status.
Applying my icon theme works, but without changing the layout of main and without the icon request function this is not ready.
Code:
<string name="home_back_img_url">http://t-ryder.de/downloads/thumbnails/background1.png</string>
Not loading anything. Wallpapers are being grabbed.
EDIT:
Icon request function not working, showing only one installed app, but there are quite some unskinned installed.

They are all there, just huge space between items!
Just realized that users can download the same wallpaper again and again causing traffic on server plus filling their internal memory with the same images over and over.
Plus the wallpaper gets pulled as 300kb JPG from server, but is stored as 3MB PNG.
After hours of working on that thing I will look for another template I guess. Or are things going to be fixed?
Feels like this thread is dead anyway.
