Is there any way to improve the gallery app by allowing the zooming of images upto 100% of their resolution? Even photos taken with the camera, if you zoom in, the quality looks crap because of the downscaled image.
I heard somewhere that this bug is fixed in Froyo - but can't remember where exactly

Install "large image viewer"
When i try to capture a running video screen (with s.pen) it captures everything else as image other then the actual video pic. Any ideas??
I'm running CM7 on my i897, and there's a split-second lag between when you tap the icon to take a picture and the picture that's actually stored. The CM7 camera app dramatizes this by actually giving you two still frame previews: one that instantly appears when you tap the icon, and another that appears a split-second later that is the actual photo that's been taken. The problem, other than the lag itself, is that your subject is often out of focus that split-second later, rendering the camera more or less useless unless you're taking still photos.
I just flashed back to stock Froyo to see if this problem was unique to CM7, and turns out it's just as bad.
I've been searching for a thread that addresses this problem, but haven't found one yet. Could someone help?
Thanks.
I have noticed something and wanted to poll everyone to see if someone knows the answer.
T-Mobile Nexus 6 - Stock no mods.
If I take a picture with the camera app and swipe my finger to the left to access the recent photos, when I double tap to zoom in the result is very CRISP, Vivid and sharp image, full of detail.
Now if i go to my Photo app icon because I don't have one that says "Gallery" on the nexus 6 and i do the same thing on the same picture (double tap to zoom) the result is NOT as sharp, crisp, vivid as the same image in the camera gallery.
Its the same images, same size, only one looks better from the camera app as oppose to the photos app....does anyone know why this is?
Has anyone tried this?
Thanks

Yeah, not a fan of the Photos app myself. I disabled it and installed QuickPic from the Play Store. I highly recommend it. It has no advertising and has a super clean UI. Similar to the gallery app we had for KK, but with added features.
Why not just download the lollipop updated gallery on the playstore
I am also looking for an answer to this. Unlike most, I do like the photos app but on many an occasion the backed up photo does not appear as crisp.

Nice! Thanks.....helped me out.
I recommend checking out My Roll.
It's a beautiful material design app that creates moments and has the ability to select which folders to include on the fly. Recommend it for sure after trying the HTC Gallery, Motorola Gallery and stock.
