I'm looking to buy a diamond and i need to make sure I get a version that will work with all the AT&T bands. I only get edge where I live, no H :-(
on the back of the box it says:
Network
HDSPA/WCDMA
900/2100 MHz
Up to 384 kbps up-link and 7.2 Mbps down-link speeds
Tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE:
900/1800/1900 MHz
(Band frequency & data speed are operator dependent)
The model number is P3700
any help is appreciated.. Thanks!
dont get it. I bought the same version and I am trying to use it on AT&T's network and it does not work. Calls drop off and calls dont get in. Have tried a whole lot including updating the radio but does not work.
You can buy any Diamond you want. You just need to flash a new quad band radio to it. There is a whole list of radios here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=407956.
That's what I did an everthing works fine.
Wind dancer, Maybe you can help me here. I bought a 2g phone with the and updated the radio to .05 but still dont get reception. when i do *#364 I see that the band that the phone is operating on is 850.
What radio did you you and did you update the ROM to 1.93? I am still on the base rom...1.37.720.2 WWE

。哈哈。谢谢

ENGLISH dude! If you look around the forums, everyone uses english. If you don't know english, try a translator, or use a japanese site. We are all more then happy to help, but we can't help if we can't read what you wrote.

TD Japanese Version couldn't use the WCDMA(2100) Network in China.
This TD seemed to use WCDMA 1700 in Japan, but couldn't be used in China. I've tried flashing a few Roms, also some Radios. Still it didn't.
Is this TD only support 1700MHz in Japan, which means it couldn't be used in WCDMA Network in China, which is 2100MHz?
Sorry for my poor translation.

The translation is better then the kanji. {I can't remember Katakana or Hirogana, been too long since I have read, wrote, or even spoke} If you can translate this back for Shishi, that would be wonderful. Thanx for the help as a translater.
Check the model # {label under battery}, & enter the model into the search engine @ PDADB.net. This will list all the frequencies your specific model is capable of. Model # will be DIAM*** {replace the *s with the #s on your Diam.}
You can flash ROMs until the chip burns out, but this will not help, because all the frequency data is in the Radio. If the site says that your model is capable of 2100 {which I believe it should be}, then just find a radio that runs at 2100MHz, & flash it.
If this is a CDMA model then I am not too sure what the frequencies are. GSM Touch Diamonds are quad-band phones & definately utilize the 2100MHz WCDMA. Soe GSM Diams only show the tri-band frequencies, but if you just flash a quand-band Radio to it, & it'll be fully functional as a quad. It has the Hardware, you just may need to change the software.
Also, if you go to the phone settings, there is a tab for "Band". Look there & see if the 2100MHz is listed. If it is, check that it's enabled. If it's not then just flash a quad radio.
Good luck

Thank you for your help!
Radio
Thank you for playing translater

I have a diamond with umts 850/1900,but I need to go to ASIA to work some days later, how can I change the UMTS frequencies to UMTS 2100
It is very unlikely this is possible as the the UMTS frequency is set in the GSM stack as far as I know. So, in less technical terms: it's baked in your hardware, no way to change it. Correct me if I'm wrong
as i know that no matter what vision the diamond is,the hardware is same.so,if i change some chips, maybe can let it work.have someone the experence?
There are a lot of different version of diamonds floating around. I have one which doesn't have 3G
Hi, this is my first thread here, sorry for my bad english.
