after flashing nova rom (kernel 2.6.32) on my OB, battery lasts less than one day and the battery stats always says: ~45% cell standby ~40% phone idle.
There are also other bugs, like the time of last reboot which is always less than the effective (for ex 10 hours of functioning instead of 18)
Can someone help me?

Thats wierd. Battery life on my OB had a great improved.
Try to reflash it.
Got the same problem,
some day my OB turned off it self, then tried to reboot 3 times or so, nothing.
Somehow after 10 minutes it rebooted an there was the problem.
Don't care what rom I've flashed, the battery drains in about 8 hours with idle power consumption of min. 90 mA, but in general about 150 mA.
That hurts...
I think I have to ship it back to LG and look, if they can fix it...
i am using the nova v8, and i found that the battery have a little bit improve. Have you tried to clear the dev cache in advance?
Or, try to reflash it by doing the factory reset?
Besides, I wonder that if I use 2G networking standby, it last only for around 10 hours? Is it normal?
I have considered to use the new CM7.1 RC1.5 solution, but I found that the situation worsen, lags and higher battery drain.
it is extremely not normal...
for my optimus black using nova 8..
it only consumed 2-3 % for 10h stand by. This is working with data on and using edge network.

Same here
It happens exactly the same to me. Should I reflash?
Tried to do reflash with wiping all data, nothing changed.
What dev chache do you mean sonicspecter? Only can wipe battery stats and dalvik chache, both wiped.
I also flashed kdz of stock rom to set it back to absolutely normal settings, nothing changed.
Because of this I'm thinking of sending it back to LG...

yes you are right, dalvik cache.i forget the spelling. However. my battery can only last for ten hours for 2g standby.i relish it by wipe both cache add it is mentionEd . Wiping battery cache would help?
What shouldi do? Back to stock rom and send back to CS? The original ROM is Hong Kong v10b
Thanks a lot

Before flashing rom i always perform: wipe data, wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik cache (following this order) and after flashing i perform wipe battery stats.
Is there something more i should do?

ivan , could you tell us how to have your pretty battery time?
I have set to lowest of the brightness with no auto adjustion
How i got extreme battery life :
Flashed heuxxx mod/fix, set interativex as governor, oc with 900, 700 500 300.
That will give a lot of battery juice.

Ok, i'm gonna do the tutorial.
Where is the right place to put it? Here in 'Optimus Black General'?
i think general is just for the questions, something more professional like tutorial should be put on development...I think

Hey
I've had my Mini for two months now and I've calibrated the battery at least 15 times and somehow I still get battery jumps (sometimes as high as 25% jumps)
Does anybody else have a problem with battery calibration??
Also, is it safe to leave the phone charging overnight or is there no charger protection in this phone??
Thanx

Thanx for your response, I'm noticing now that my battery's reporting wrong, I've tried 4 different battery tools and all of them report 4mV when they should report 4250mV (or something like that)
Is anybody else seeing this behavior??

Could you clarify this for me???.....'Cause I don't know what you're talking about
In my opinion too much calibration is not needed with liking battery
My problem is not due to excessive battery calibration, it's due to battery reporting errors, I keep seeing percentage jumps and the voltage is also wrongly displayed

Upgrade ROM maybe can solved that problem
And after installing new ROM calibrate again once!
I've had the same problem with 4 different ROMs (FroYo stock, GB stock, Andro-ID and CM7).
I'm starting to think that it's a physical battery problem

Your Android OS is draining your battery waaay too much. Does MIUI still have the Android OS bug? Reboot into recovery and clear cache and davlik cache, and continue monitoring the Android OS. It should be less than 10%.
Hi.
Thanks for the advice.
I did what u said. battery usage android os 31% and sys 29% but when i change for unplugged usage it shows sys 18% OS 9%. The previous is the total usage. Do u think its fine?
Hi, I'm using MIUI Mint Berry Edition 1.10.28 and the battery is very good, perhaps you should give it a try. Another trick is to delete google talk if you don't use it

I believe the default options in Google Talk is to have it login automatically. I never used it before, but when I first got an i9000 I remember going through apps I didn't use, and noticed that Google Talk—even though I never, ever used it—was signing it and staying signed in the entire time I had my phone. I quickly got rid of it (although you could probably just turn off the automitic login).
hi guys!
THX for the ideas but I got one yesterday from another forum. I just wiped in recovery mode the darwick memory or what and now its perfect. I charged the battery fully yesterday at 17:55. Was playing and using wifi ,still have around 20%.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
wipe dalvik , wipe cash , format
then put miui on your sdcard and flash it
after that , clear dalvik cash and wipe cash partition again
calibrate your battery using battery calibration app ,
reboot.
the problem should be solved , but i must tell you , miui is battery HUNGRY and u will NOT get more than 3-4 hours screen time
You could try Juicedefender. That should buy you some time!

I find apps like this normally do the opposite, Just another service eating up CPU power. Also don't judge a ROM's battery from the 1st charge. Calibrate and the battery tends to settle.. Though IMO Cm7 ftw, 2 days usage from it

I sort of agree, but it depends on how much battery the app is saving you. Sure, it takes some CPU usage to be able to work, but if it's saving you 5x as much battery by doing so, then it's obviously beneficial. Lots of people swear by Juice Defender, so it must work as such.
Hello ppls. I've seen a lot of posts about high battery drain. I am wondering about my battery life.
So, i unplugged my SGS at 10am,said 100% when i unplugged it dropped to 96% (i read its normal, the protection against overcharge), left at 10.30 listened to 1h of music,15m of just twiking, writing 1 sms,at 13:30 already 59%
Faze II: 15m on facebook via wifi,wrote 5 sms,played 10 mins- 39%
III 1h music +10m gaming+ 15m twiking, at 8pm 20%.
IV about 5m of audio recording, and probabably about 10m of gaming->10% at 12:30 am next day.
No 3g, wifi only when using internet apps, using juice defender ultimate.
I'm using Darky's rom 10.1 . I bought the phone with this rom, and i can't flash a new one cause i can't connect it to my pc in anyway(same on other pc's too)
To the battery : Is this normal? Thx
Hi everyone,
I bought this phone about 2 month ago and I've had weird battery usage stats ever since. On ICS and JB.
Check the screenshot, I've done many things with the phone and it only shows these 2 games which I have played BEFORE this recharge cycle and they shouldn't be there !
What's causing this and what should I do?
Thanks in advance.
Anyone?

I've done this many times, should I send to service center?!
I sent mine p880 to service center just because it was over heating a lot, and got "its all fine" answer,
but think this way, maybe these apps really consume so much power try uninstalling them (using titanium backup so save cache), and see how the battery behave (battery stats)
Nah lg's battery stats are just crap, use betterbatterystats or similar

LG definitely messed with it, games show up with cpu usage of a few mins when I have played for hours, and they show like 70% usage when I have played a game for a minute. Battery stats has behaved totally differently on other phones I have had, and actual drain has been similar on this device so deffo theres something wrong

In my case it only happens with 3D games.

Not sure if its me but since installing the 4.2.2 update the battery appears not to last as long....maybe it will need time to settle down ? Anyone else noticed poorer battery stats.

Did you guys have factor format after 4.2.2 updated?
I can see battery improvement over 4.1.2. It's not extreme, but I can possibly squeeze out another hour from my usage.
Granted, I didn't change the CID/MID to force the OTA. I did a backup of the sdcard to the computer, and flashed a stock rooted 4.2.2 rom with a kernel.
yup..

Battery life sucks for me after the update. When I get home after work, the phone is almost dead. I reset the phone using buttons, using the reset menu, etc. a few times to no luck.
Unable to trace the biggest drainer with GSam Battery Monitor or WakeLock Detector either.
Damn.
what is factor format? , I did a reset/wipe before and after the 4.2.2 update, battery life seems about the same.
EDIT : do you mean factory format?

It has increased my battery life significantly.
I now have 1-2% lost in standby over night, the juice is drained less in standby and when screen on. Not by much, but significantly.
