Remove root from Optimus Black - LG Optimus Black

I should give my ob to service but I don't know how to remove this root from phone? May someone tell me please?

i think u should remove superuser and gingerbreak

If you used Gingerbreak to root, just run it again and choose "unroot".
If you used SuperOneClick or BlackJack the best solution is to flash firmware via KDZU or emergency restore in LG Updater App. Hard Reset will not remove root, only flash.
Tested it yesterday.

Root : V10a

Tried to root my phone today with Superoneclick and gingerbreak but both did not work :-(.
The gingerbreak which i downloaded from the link posted on this thread gave a virus error with one Antivirus Pro software on my mobile and Superone click ver.2.1.1 gets stuck at stage 4 of the upgrade. It makes the connection to the phone etc. but for some reason does not like my phone nd gets stuck at stage 4.
I have LG-P970-V10a.
Please help. Thanks
They're already some threads about rooting LG Optimus Black...
Use UPK by Ilko here and you can try my method (Method of root by Sobralobo) or any other that where shared.
I'm also V10a. I rooted my phone 2 days ago. Try to use this method fast and easy http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1154882&highlight=root+via+application&refid=12 try to uninstall your antivirus first i think it detect the gingerbreak as a virus even though it is not a virus.

Thanks. I will try it soon and update you. Thanks
install gingerbreak... sometimes this doesn't work if the size of file you get/downloaded is less than 295kb. also, try to google "how to root LG Optimus Black P970 addictivetips" for detailed instructions if the instructions here on xda seem to be too technical. that's what i did before... i'm a noob. lol!
Thanks all. Finally after your inputs I manage to root my phone. I had to uninstall my anti-virus and it worked.
Another question. I am rooted what next? what are the benefits? I tried to download some themes .zip files and also installed Widget Locker but am not able to find on how to install those lockscreen themes directly :-(.
Please help me enjoy my phone and give some tips on what to do next after rooting
.
Thanks and look forward to more replies like earlier.
Thanks
Download LauncherPro or Go launcher ex to apply those themes and widget. Watch this tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abDzsu35aWk
Gingerbread is coming! So i think it is better to wait rather than flashing different ROM (One benefits of rooting phone).

Hi there, I rooted my OB too using the gingerbreak and just for "knowledge" I unrooted it with the same gingerbreak and it works, it's safe at least for me

if you download from browser, normally you can "open" it with widget locker to "install" it.
Otherwise, just copy the zip in "sdcard\data\com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker\themes"
thnks for the "knowledge" transfer... I apreciate it...

Root permission never asked

Hi, I`m with my first Android and tried to root it using this tutorial (i'm with stock rom):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1327599
Everything seemed to work fine, but it never asked me for root permission and each program that needs it, tells me that I have no root access.

Do you have the ROM Manager installed? if yes...switch on wifi and select the clockworkmod choosing the LG Optimus2X and wait for it to be flashed.
Do you get that the apps dont have root access?
---------- Post added at 10:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:47 PM ----------
just have a look at this thread....has some information about rooting....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1458879
hope it helps you
ROM manager says that I cannot select clockworkmod cause I haven't got root permission
I've tried the tutorial to get root access a dozen times. In all of them things seems ok, but when I open apps that need root access, they tell me I don't have it.

Personally i think that there is some problem....try rebooting both your computer and the O2X and then restart the rooting process....before that read the thread a bit carefully...might be you are missing something...the rooting process normally works good...
I tried this one and think it worked.

Thanks for the help
More problems...
Root Check Basic says it's rooted;
Busybox installer also says it's rooted. It installs but if I open it again it says Busybox isn't installed.
Titanium Backup says it isn't rooted. FasterFix also.
Is there anyway to go back to zero and do it all again?
Update superuser. Reboot then try again..
Download rom manager flash the recovery.

try to get back to stock and re-do things....

[Q] How to unroot the v20N?

Well, I've been at the Big-N00b topic. This is what I read:
The UNROOT
If you wanna unroot your device, why so ever, the easiest way is to use Unlock Root (Link above) open it, connect your phone via USB, enable Debugging Mode and click unroot. If you wanna unroot it, e.g. to be able to send it back to LG on warranty, better use the method below, to unbrick your device with R&D tool.
Because like this, you will get back an unrooted device, which has also been hardresetted. So LG will hardly/never get a clue, that it has ever been rooted.
Dont forget to format your SD card as well

I've tried the Unlock Root but the only thing I got was: failed to get shell root.
Anyone have an idea how to unroot it now?
Thanks.
Use the post below, as stated in my thread. It says UNBRICKING.
Flash a new software (the older the better) e.g. v10a to your phone, reboot it 2 times, then update it to the version availiable for you via B2C
Read it all dude

I've read it all, but I wanted to unroot it without having to do that much. What do you mean by B2C? LG PC Suite? Anyway, thanks for helping.
Seems like you didnt read carefully...
B2C is one of the first lines in that guide... You should really start reading carefully.
It is the Lg Update Tool.
Flashing with smartflash takes pretty exactly 5 Minutes, updating with B2C about 10-15 minutes and your all done. If you dont wanna, you dont need to, but you were asking for a solution. So take it or leave it.

So, I got one more question. Right now I'm on stock 2.3.3. If LG releases ICS and I upgrade it with LG PC Suite will I be unrooted aswell?
Of course it will... That's what was the problem with rooting Gingerbread in the beginning was. Cause as soon as you updated a rooted version of froyo, it was rooted no longer...
So will it be with ICS as well

[Q] Rooting my optimus Black.

Hello, i (think) i want to root my Lg Optimus Black,
but before making all kinds of decisions i have a few questions;
Will rooting my phone remove the warranty? because i can not afford it to drop my phone, and have to pay the full 200 euro's for it..
if it does remove my warranty, can i switch back, and remove everything so LG will still repair my phone?
I once upgraded my 2.2 froyo to 2.3 gingerbread with the LG site,
is it posible to upgrade my phone to the 'normal' android version? because i hate
the LG Interface.. and if i can, will this also remove my warranty?
If i am going to root, i will be using several forum posts found on XDA.
if i follow these steps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23790405&postcount=171
and then these: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1473592
will i have a stable LG optimus black, with another interface.
If rooting, or installing the default Android 2.3 is not safe to use, is there any way to Remove the horrible LG interface (The lockscreen, dialscreen, statusbar, Music app, etc. ?
if you modify the software you will loose your waranty. And you can ALWAYS go back to stock in one way or another.

1.- You can always unroot to SmartFlash and get back your warranty..
2.- if you have much problems with rooting, back to 2.2 and root, then install the Roms that you prefer!!, is more easy than injecting Recovery!!

Hello, i want to root my Optimus black.
in the system specs, it says V20o.
So i went to click on the V20o link, there i got a few steps.
at the first step you need to download a file, not only it says v20b in there, it is also from a v20B thread. so is this the right file? and the download link doesnt work...
For 20o follow this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23788913&postcount=170
Download of 20o root is possible if you remove the html in the browser.
I did al the steps, but exedently clicked Clockwork mod away, so now i havent done steps 14,15 and 16! Can someone please tell me what to do! how can i get my recoberyscreen back?
Simply start with step 5 again and follow the instruction!
Done that a few times myself.

Hello! I need some help, I've been searching for a couple days about how to root my lg optimus black p970 V20a. I found your noob threat and I see the link for V20a but when I click there it sends me to a link with Root (Superuser) on firmware V20B (CIS). Does this means V20b can be use for V20a's? or is it a typo and if it easy can you please where to find the V20a.
Much appreciate!! Thanks!!
You can root it on your own (check the 3rd post of my noob how to) or ask someone, to provide it to you... I dont have time, but the how to should be self explaining You only need the LgExtract tool (posted at the end of the thread) Smartflash + Windows enabler and Superuser.zip And your pretty much done Or keep on searching for Root v20a Optimus Black

[Q]How many ways are there to root?

I'm owner of a Lg P970, but a friend wants be a root on his own device, but I tried 3 different ways to root it, but doesn't work, I used: Gingerbreak, Lg Steem and Unlocker Root. Should I flash it instead root it, ofc flash it with a room already rooted. What I suppose to do?

If your firmware is Froyo try SOC. It worked on my OB before GB came out.
