I decided to open a new thread here because the discussion starded on the accessories room which is not exactly the right place...
BTW following to the discussion started here I did some experiment to understand if will be possible to have that function on the D3.
Although I don't have any HDMI monitor right now, so no extensive tests, just couriosity.
I tried to use some atrix files to see what happen...
And this is what happen

For now I haven't investigated further, i presume I have to find the OS image and partition accordingly the internal memory, btw i think is promising.
So feel free to add your findings/and observation here, especially if you have the multimedia dock and an HDMI monitor.
I attach the two files needed to have the extended menu, they are tested on the XT883 ROM, I don't know if they are working on the XT862 one

the menu is already working w/o the lapdock, but as I said I don't have any HDMI monitor/tv, just the multimedia doc.
Thats pretty good, i cant test it, but if it works, i probably will download it.

IIRC from the atrix forum, the /osh partition contains the filesystem for the webtop linux. You'll have to copy that as well.

any updates?
xt 862
Hello,
You said that there is some apps on xt883, and you can select a webtop option, when plug it in the doc?
AFAIK there is some files needed to run webtop app
Where i can get them?
Does anyone knows how the webtop app works?
You need the iso image of the linux portion
Look at the atrix section to understand more.
BTW I don't have the D3 anymore because a change on my needs, so I can't help further.
I modified an atrix lapdock to accept an XT860, and hoped it would work, all i could do is HDMI mirror, but if we can get webtop to work, AWESOMENESS would be had.
modding the dock isnt hard, just need to flip both pieces. they are the same distance apart.
if it will work, gatta try SOON, gonna sell that lapdock with the atrix! lol
Hey Killster,
When you modded the lapdock and got it to mirror, I take it that the keyboard and trackpad didn't function?
At&t currently has the Atrix Lapdock on sale for $50. May be worth buying to mod at this price.
http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-ph....jsp?q_sku=sku5100298&q_categoryid=cat1910038
so no more updates? this application works only with TX883 rom?
I'd also like to know about this.
I'll try and test it on my D3 when I get home.

What rom do you have it working on? I'm on Infinitum and I get "Unfortunately Sono Voice has stopped "
This works horribly on my AOKP b36. Dropped and installed in system/apps with proper permissions as well.
Anyone figure out how to get it to save appointments and alarm times? I feel like the standard Android text-to-speech is a lot more advanced that this skinned Vlingo.
I do love me some Flipboard, it runs flawlessly for me.
Can't wait for my SIII!

Im on EXTRAordinary ICS rom, the fc's are because of non oficcial SGS3 rom apps I got force close with music player, let wait for official SGS3 apps to be ported
If you are on the home screen or lock screen, does saying "Hi Galaxy" actually wake up the voice prompt for anyone?
That doesn't seem to happen for me. I will say that I just installed the apk rather than putting it in /system/app (that folder did not have enough space)
Its fun to play with but I am having a ton of force closes. When it tries to access GPS or web browser it locks up. Still pretty cool thanks for this

I've always been a big fan of the built in voice functionality. The one thing I wish it would have is something like the "Wake up galaxy" voice control so that I could avoid having to mess with my phone at all while driving. Does anyone know if there is a way to get that functionality with the build in voice search?

If you do the Zoom-In Gesture(Spreading out your fingers)
It'll become like this:
To enable Battery Percentage:Go to Settings-Power Saver-Check Battery Percentage.(Stupid place to put it,I know)
If there's any more feel free to tell me!
The zoom feature is only a feature of the Launcher, not the ICS Rom.

Hello people!
I made this widget(4x3) app using Yahoo Weather android app (available on google code as yahooweatherandroid) as the base. A big thanks to Nguyen Quoc Dat for developing the original and giving me a head-start with his easy to understand code (since this is the first time I am writing something in java ).
The original code was meant to be compatible with sdk version 3. So it did not have all the optimizations available in the later sdks. The code is now compatible with sdk version 14 and up (target version 17) having most of the optimizations. All the widget updates are done in the background threads so the main UI thread isn't caught up doing that. Also, clock updates are not done when the device is sleeping thus preserving battery (haven't tested this thoroughly yet but hoping it works fine. Will be great if someone tested this out too!)
One big thing I am not sure of is how this widget would fit on other devices. I just have a Xperia TL, and it looks great on it's screen. So I am hoping it would look just fine on other 720p devices (not sure how it would look other screen sizes. I'll appreciate if someone can help me out here).
Here are a few screenshots:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The app is pretty much the same from the original app. My main aim was to get the widget right. I'll polish the app soon.
PM me if you want to take a peak at the code. Remember that it is just the same as the original with a little modification.
Please be a little gentle on me if I have made any mistakes in my post or violated any protocol since this is my first post in XDA-Developers.
Cheers!
Spiderman3
Update:
The app is now cleaned up and a few bugs have been fixed!
Font sizes have been fixed and are not scalable (not sure if this is ideal but it makes the app and widget look good and uniform irrespective of the system font size).
A few screenshots of the app:
Enjoy!

I could not recreate the issue you were facing.
Can you try uninstalling and reinstalling the new version that I posted?
Once you set the location, it should immediately reflect on the app as well as widget. If it doesn't, you might want to close and reopen the app (not the widget). I think I have to dig a little deeper to see if this was some kind of race condition.
Thanks for bringing it up!
Updated with new app and bug fixes. See original post...

Wanted to share with you a flashable zip I made which deletes the stock ICS LG Browser (which in my opinion sucks) and replaces it with google's AOSP ics browser. Its lighter, has a darker UI and I only tried it for a few hours but I can say its quite snappy and smooth.
I'll atach two flashables, AOSP and LG (in case you want to return to that crappy LG stuff... lol)
But dude the stock LGBrowser is fast and nice!I think its more suitable to upload a full black version only?Just Sayin

There are many system apps you can get from an old CM9 unofficial build. They work on IZS, I've done it before (I did it on IZS v0.4).
Sms, gallery, android browser, calculator, calendar (I think), and I can't remember more xD

Well there is a thumbnail but not sure if the effect will actually work, didn't seem to when I just tried. Essentially you record a video of the item, process it in the gallery then when you look at it you can move your phone around the item just with movement. The only thing I can think similar is a 360* camera set up that was used at some sci-fi conventions to create a 3d photo
