Yep,
As I got a Milestone, I don't have the pretty notification sound of a mechanical saying "Droid".
Does anybody could send me it ?
[EDIT]
Anyone with a rooted Droid can find it here : /system/media/audio/notifications/
Here you go.
I think you would also be able to find it by downloading a cooked ROM and unzipping it.
You also can download zedge ringtone app and under search Droid. It comes up as Droid and Droid alert.

Well this is the first tutorial i have ever made, so this tutorial is on how to change or delete the boot sound.
1. Ethier use RootExplorer, Droid Explorer or ADB.
2. Navigate to /system/sounds/lgeAT/
3. There should be a 4 sec long MP3 in there called PowerOn.mp3.
Now i think if you delete it the sound will not play. If you plan to replace it, well it should be mp3 format and 4 seconds long. If its longer than 4 seconds the song will continue to play over any other songs until its ended.
Well this might be a pointless tutorial, but at least i wrote one for it!
I hope this helps anybody who finds the annoying boot sound very annoying to delete or replace it.
Thanks for reading
Video on changed boot sound (microphone didn't really pick it up):
Rate thread, comment. the usual stuff.
Thanks!
Thanks a lot
You said you 'think' if you delete it the sound will not play. Have you tried and tested this? And what will happen if i use anything longer than 4 seconds? Will only 4 seconds of it play or will there just not be any sound at the startup?

Well if you use anything longer than 4 secs it will cut off.
I will try it now
EDIT: Just tryed it now and will upload a youtube video and amend the first post.
Good stuff! Another step to further customizing our great phones!

The bootsound doesn't have to be 4 seconds short. I got mine going for 12 seconds. Its better to have it for 4 seconds though because if you don't the sound will still play after the boot animation has finished, in my case.

is there any way we can get that sweet screen off animation with fro-yo?
screenshot or link?

Hrm... I'll have to see whats in the latest system dump
feh - of course it's not that simple - not found under /system/media
It may be a framework animation.

does that mean that its not possible at all and that its exclusive to the nexus s or that we could get it if we (ever) get gingerbread? cause tbh, thats the only reason why i wanted gingerbread lol...

I can't imagine it being a .zip animation, i'm thinking it's in the framework.

It's both a shutdown animation and for when you lock your phone.
This is one thing that I really want bad. I normally don't give in to animations and haven't found any others that I like. But that one is just awesome.
if it is that means it is hiding somewhere in the framework or it might be some sort if crazy .bin that would take a dev to hack out of the dump s going around.

good keyboard. really like it. almost as fast for me as swype lol
That keyboard was not made by me. I found that in the oxygen forums, it was posted by pepe and packed by rico... I think. So I don't know who to credit. So if someone knows, let me know or I'll just do a little searching. Thanks!

thank you very much my friend..!u made my day
I've wanted this ever since I played around with an O2X, now I can have it on my own phone
I really like the big keys and minimal layout.
Works great so far, I've not experienced any FC, and there is a big selection of languages. Probably the closest thing to an iPhone keyboard that I've used so far

A reboot won't fix it. I have no new notifications. I'm rooted and froze some bloat, but nothing major.
Anybody else encounter this issue?

Saw that happen when I used the Tranquility toolbox. Rebloating and deleting the app worked to fix the issue for me. Manual debloat with TB or using kejar31's debloated rom worked a little better, no stuck light.

I have nothing to confirm this, but this issue just started happening to me on my Bionic for text message notification lights after the recent Handcent update. I have not tried to uninstall Handcent and see if this happens with the stock messaging app. I am wondering if this is a Handcent bug... Is everyone having this issue using Handcent?
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using XDA App
My solution was confirmed: Handcent recognized that there was an LED issue and fixed it in today's update.
