Dev? - Motorola Droid 3

Would a dev mind checking out the dialog i've had with others in the psouza script thread. It's only three pages and has been cause for my heartburn. I need serious help. If you have any questions please post in that thread. I will be checking it throughout night. I work at night. If i could get the extract on the fastboots maybe i could fix my phone.

[SOLVED] Stuck in Recovery

Have a revo, flashed gingervolt on it and now it just boots into recovery everytime I boot. I've tried flashing stock on it, that stock gingerbread that has the boot and the system in it... nothing works... just keeps going into recovery. (Clockworkmod Recovery). In addition when I try power and volume up nothing happens, goes into Clockworkmod not the LG recovery.
I have no idea what to do Any help would be appreciated.
Forget it... you know I searched for 10 or 15 minutes easy looking for the solution. I post the question, and 5 minutes later (ok 15 or so) I find the answer in another thread. Thanks anyway (Haven't tried the solution but it looks solid).

This link by the cubed fix it. Apparently it is a bug involving factory reset. You just flash this file and it fixes everything. Thank the cubed if you find it useful, I did.

Moving to General
Here is a link to the solution thread (I posted it up there as well). Since it is almost an exact duplicate of my **issue and it is posted in Development by thecubed I was just following his lead. -P.S. thanks for the large public outting that I'm a noob I appreciate it and agree that the private msg you left me (that was much nicer) was not sufficient. <big grin>

Looking for the sghi896 uxkh2 kernel

http://theunlockr.com/2009/10/06/how-to-set-up-adb-usb-drivers-for-android-devices/
Superoneclick method didn't work on my phone. So I found and attempted to try the fugo method.
I found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17865158&postcount=1182 thread, but the links were broken so I decided to download a generic Kernal_XXJVK.exe file off from google.
The first flash went smoothly, however the second one has been rebooting consistently. I'm not sure what to do... I'd like to fix my phone and have it rooted, so if anyone could upload the kernal for me it would be greatly appreciated.
Other opinions and ideas to help welcomed!
Thanks
Really? The thread below you, the one you posted in, is asking for the exact same thing and you had to make a new thread about it?
Just a heads up, if someone has asked your question, dont make a duplicate thread about it. It spams the board.

Sony Xperia LT30AT rooting guide

I have noticed very little specific LT30AT rooting support here (maybe I missed it, I am new)
I spent a few days here trying to root and it took me combining 3 threads to do it for my specific Xperia.
I have made this little guide for you out there with the pleasure of being stuck with AT&T and want to get the most from your TL
If this is in the wrong spot or anything just move it or delete it. Okay, lets get to it.
ALWAYS BACKUP WHEN MODDING
First download the apk I will attach it to this guide
Then copy paste it to your phone via "Computer" or "My Computer" Just drop it anywhere right in there. NOT IN A FOLDER
Open up Astro or any file manager, hit manage my files or whatever to get to "/mnt/sdcard" (thats what mine says on my lt30at)
Select the Backup-Restore file and it will promt an install
Go ahead and Install it
Then, You can also utilize Androxyde Flashtool for Windows, do the installation, then check out Flashtool directory (Flashtool/drivers) and locate “Flashtool-drivers.exe”. Double-click on it, choose Xperia TX, Flashmode, and Fastboot Drivers. To check if the drivers are properly installed, look at Device Manager.
Ok, now Grab Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v Here ---> http://uploaded.net/file/0fpyh5c5
Then go to this video and follow him WORD FOR WORD.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EpkrCq1gfM
Do not skip around the video or try to skip some steps. Just trust me here.
If you have followed what I have said here to the T then you should be golden.
If I have missed something in this guide for the lt30at please let me know guys.
Hit thanks if I have helped you. :highfive:

I havent seen anything lt30at specific nor have I found anything That explains this all in one post. Not saying it doesn't exist but it took me a week to root my phone cause the info was scattered all over. I just made this for a very specific group of people with the lt30at to be able to fin all the info for their phones and nothing else. Just a simple guide with nothing in it other than what they need. It can be very overwhelming and annoying to look through thread after thread scanning for the info you need. I made this so a simple search would do it. Just trying to help.
As for me posting this twice I figured I'd make a thread for it just for easier locating to those looking. Sorry to overpost

Unfortunately by posting this you make simple searches more difficult, and made it more overwhelming and annoying as yet another thread exists which gives basically the same information. And you have already posted it in another thread...
It is all in the all in one thread and you have basically just reposted Bin4ry's method here.

[Q] Tough One - Hung on Samsung Logo, no recovery mode - must keep pics!

Basically my phone is stuck on the GT-N7000 Samsung Logo screen.
Would love if somebody could make my day and tell me how I can restore my phone with it's pictures.
I know this is not as simple as it sounds but I have read a thread that explains something about non-wiping ROMs / upgrade ROMs? Is this true?
Notes:
I have a stock ROM (I bought the phone via Amazon Germany though).
Never tried to place another ROM onto phone.
I cannot go into recovery mode.
I am able to go into download mode.
I have heard of this ODIN but not familiar.
Heeelp!
This is a good thread to learn about odin

If you do not want to listen and do not want to read yourself (at least the first few posts with the tutorials) then why do you cry for help?
And answer in such an idiotic behavior?
Don't you think that it is this way of ignorance that is resulted in your "bricked" device?

Are you kidding me!? You're honestly a senior member? Calling my response idiotic is probably a little ironic. Let me explain why...
Firstly, I'm not going to waste too much of my time replying to you but my concern was that during the 501 pages of the thread something may changed from the start, I can't be sure how accurate the first posts are, which I feel is a valid point 1.
As for the bricked device, the phone became bricked itself due to no fault of my own, other people have experienced the same thing, I have avoided popping ROM's onto the phone to avoid voiding my warranty, I did not tamper with anything, this is valid point 2.
If you have nothing positive to contribute to this thread please refrain from adding any further comments, or take a chill pill and use a little empathy senior member.
I should also add that:
- I eeked at the 501 pages - I was not being condescending.
- I believe that there is a difference between ROM's that completely flash the whole memory and upgrade ROM's that will retain, hence why I asked the question, about 'upgrade' ROM's.
If you want to pull the pictures from the phone internal memory you can use a pc program called adb.exe, but you need to be in download mode.

Except he is right. This has been discussed. You're method is to read that thread. This is a website (or at least is supposed to be) for users that are willing to read the guides people have slaved to create
Everything you need to know is there.
And absent hardware failure, a phone doesn't brick itself.
Read dr.ketan thread on how to flash a stock ROM via PC Odin from download mode. The guide is current. This is the only answer you will receive here.

Thanks Ranger Captain! Much appreciated. I'll look into this!
The expert on adb.exe is a user nemed studacris. I think it would be ok to PM him and get the specifics of the command.
Roughly, connect the phone to the pc in download mode, open a command window, navigate to your adb directory, type adb device to confirm the connection, then type adb pull \directory name\all files /directory on pc and the files will transfer from the internal phone memory to your pc.

When you come across a 501 page thread and say the answer is there and current for people who are willing to read there is a bit of a problem here.
I was hoping a tech Guru on here who is familiar with my problem could help summarise key points relevant to my problem.
I am willing to concede after some of you have eluded to much of the information is in the first few pages. Thank you.
As for bricking - there has been corruption of what seems to be the firmware, which not is of the question, what point are you making? If you read a few other threads, others have experienced similar issues with attempting to update their ROM's.

Hey man. All you need to do is read the first post of dr.ketan's thread. Good luck. If flashing a stock ROM via PC Odin doesn't work, per the isnstructions on that thread, I will personally be more than glad to help. But that IS your first step.
There is nothing to summarize. Follow the procedure in that thread OP. You don't have to read ANY of the thread except the guide. If it doesn't help you get up and running, feel free to PM me or post here. But when someone tells you to read a thread you must realize they are probably referring to the Original Post. If you are told to search (xda users rule #1), then that is a different story. For example, if you said 'how do I Use an OTG cable', I would say 'search this thread for the keyword otg'. Nevertheless, that is not the case here. There is a specific guide in the OP of that thread that describes what your first step to fix your device should be. Once that has been exhausted, please feel free to ask for further guidance.
Take care and good luck.

I was reading. There is something not quite clear. Although the thread tells you a lot about how to do something, it doesn't say what it does or what it's for.
I've downloaded the software but further threads highlight that data may still be deleted.
Would you mind advising of how the thread can ensure that my data will not be deleted?

Which data you refer to?
Question: is your data nor backed up via Google?
As for SD card data, like photos, is that what you're talking about?

Please delete! Wrong section...

Sorry everyone! Should've posted on the existing thread. My apologies!

Hey guys, I've been able to get back to stock using fastboot commands so I can install the new VZW update, but as a couple of threads on here have already pointed out, the system.img needed to go back to stock is too large to be flashed without being broken up... I can't use RSD light, as I only have access to a mac at home AND work (I know, I know... ). I've done a bunch of searching on here and it looks like my best bet is to use motofastboot, as it will break up the size of the file. I downloaded the 32 and 64bit motofastboot files but am kind of confused as what to do from there. When i execute the file it just gives me the list of the available fastboot commands, the same I've been using in "normal" fastboot this whole time, but beyond that I have to open a new window to type anything new and when I do I can still only use "normal" fastboot.
So, fastboot flash system system.img won't work for me, as the file is too large. For guys with macs, what command do I use to force moto-fastboot instead? I figure I have to do some preliminary commands to get my mac to understand moto fastboot, I just don't know what those commands are...
Any help would be appreciated, thanks so much in advance!

I'm sure that means you found the thread I posted on the topic. I was bored so i scrolled through the Q&A but for future reference, you can just post in that thread and I would have seen it and replied to you to help you out. If it didn't get resolved there. Then maybe you could post another thread. You can either pm me or post over in that thread and I can help you out. Also, explain what you mean by "beyond that I have to open a new window to type anything new."
