I noticed this when I was downloading the latest USB drivers for the Bionic. Here's a quote from Motorola's site...
A note about Ice Cream Sandwich:
We are planning to upgrade DROID RAZR™ by Motorola, Motorola RAZR™, Motorola XOOM™ and DROID BIONIC™ by Motorola to Ice Cream Sandwich. We will provide more precise guidance on timing after post-public push of Ice Cream Sandwich by Google, as well as any possible additions to this list of devices.

Does anyone know when Verizon plans to roll this out? (I may not want the Galaxy Nexus after all.)
Discussed in a couple of threads already. Use the search button my friend.

Sorry, I typed the thread title and description and none of the suggested thread discussions had anything to do with Bionic. Sorry, I put too much faith in the auto-thread comparison script I guess, when making a new thread
Thx.
No biggie, happens to us all

I take it the Droid suffers from the same "signed bootloader" that the Milestone does?
Nope. That's one reason people are so upset about the Milestone situation—Motorola released the Droid with an unlocked bootloader, then turned around and locked things down on the Milestone.
Then why aren't there any ROMs in here? I see reference to roms like Bugless Beast but this development area is rather empty.
Mostly because the Droid/Milestone section here is brand new (2-3 weeks old), and most developers had found a "home" forum long before XDA added a Motorola section. A lot of people still don't even know there's a Droid section here.
You can get more info on Droid ROMs at places like Android Forums, Droid Forums, and AllDroid, where most devs have set up shop.
I used to come here all the time when I had a G1. I upgraded to a Droid and was disappointed that I couldn't come here for all the latest droid info. I just today figured I would come back and see if Froyo was up for the G1. HOLY COW there is a Droid forum on XDA!!! I can't believe I didn't hear about this earlier from one of the many android sites I visit.
I completely agree! This forum was INVALUABLE to me when I was using a G1 or my 32a Magic, but when I got the droid I had to suck it up and find other places to go.
Truth be told, there's a lot of immatureity in newer forums, but they got the job done.
Hopefully, some of the info will dribble back here, for everyone's sake, but wish me luck, I'm about to test out a generic froyo build for droid. Here's hoping it works!
Anyone know if Ice cream sandwich will be compatible with the streak 7?

No, nobody does.
I just read this article: http://www.streaksmart.com/2011/10/...antastic-for-dell-streak-5-streak-7.html#more
you think someone would be willing to modify it for the streak 7? I know Steve's not here anymore but there are other dev's I'm sure would be willing to give it a shot.

Moving to General
I read that ICS is compatible with higher res devices than DS7 has, bu you never know what will come
I see no reason why it wouldn't be compatible. As to a port on the S7, that's another question.
i need both ice cream as well as sandwich, dell what do you think
Read a site the other day that basically read as ics is available for update to the Vivid. Ill look for the site again and post the link. Any truth to this?

No truth to it. AT&T Software update is showing no updates available currently.

Should've been moved to the trash.
ICS isn't officially available for any device now. HTC says early 2012 for any of their devices.
I did read that our device will be avaialbe in early 2012 but nothing for a while i assume.
I would Guess Feb. or March if HTC stands by early 2012 release date.
yes it will get ICS

I can see where the confusion came from just by reading what HTC's Statement was.
" We can confirm the brand new HTC Vivid is upgradeable to Ice Cream Sandwich"
I can see how if that is out of context or someone doesn't know that ICS isn't even on the market yet would confuse people.
We are starting a movement toward HTC to get them to release their source code on a more timely basis such as samsung. We need as many people as we can get to do this with us because they won't listen if only users of 1 devices complains. i know others devices have been held up by htc so we are reaching out to (or at least trying to) all of the htc device forums we can in order to spread the word and get everyone involved. please take a look at the link below as it has all of the info regarding this.

Ok I understand now. I signed it but I myself have given up on HTC. Ridiculous how hard they make all their stuff to hack and they cut life support off stuff too quickly. My flyer got cut off on ****ty honeycomb and developers struggled trying to build ics for it. I was mad but eventually I said screw it and sold it and bought a nexus 7. I plan to eventually do that same with my vivid for either the galaxy nexus or the next nexus phone that comes out. Honestly anything not nexus branded just blows now.

Recently, I have had my own bad experience with Rootzwiki and heard a couple others bad experience with Rootzwiki
What's your bad experience while over at Rootzwiki?

When I've lurked there / posted people seemed nice.. bit 2nd rootzwiki thread

Though this isnt exactly hating, I feel like the discussion of negative happenings at another site perpetuates hate towards them in the long run.
FTR I've found Rootz to be just as welcoming as XDA.

if your referring to my starting a 2nd rootz thread it's because the first was locked with no explanation or warning...my guess is either because i called them lame in the title thread or because some rootz fanatic is a moderator here on xda...either way, a warning should have been issued giving me an opportunity to correct the problem...instead they trolled the thread then closed it so no one could respond

Also btw guys...this is a BAD ROOTZ EXPERIENCE THREAD...great for you if you haven't had any problems or bad experiences but there is no need to spam or troll the thread...this thread is just to discuss bad experiences on rootz as it clearly states in the OP

No reason was needed, You were hating on another Android Developer site, the thread would've just ended in an argument probably,
It also still seems like hate, Specifying 'bad experiences' , Why not change the title to Your experience on Rootzwiki

The authority of XDA probably doesnt want that on the site as the userbase is representative of the site's image and one site that participates in the same domain hating on a another is not a good thing. In a way, just getting your thread closed is better than a warning.

It's not hate...after my experience and after hearing about a couple Thunderbolt developers who had bad experiences yesterday on rootz...I'm curious to know what other bad experiences have been encountered...there shouldn't be any arguments on this thread or the first one if people would be respectful. I'm only asking to hear other bad experiences...if someone doesn't have a bad experience then they have no need to post in this thread...

There's a difference between complaining and hating and the posts that were being discussed were complaining...had they sent a warning i could have easily changed the thread title...and btw...considering the amount of hate directed at Apple, Microsoft and many other manufacturers on this site...i don't think XDA is too worried about threads that may promote a negative image

If you have issues with RootzWiki then take it up with them. It's not our problem if that doesn't help you as this isn't a support forum for issues with other sites. Here at xda we like to be friends with everyone, so we'll have no trouble here.
