Hi every one.I have a captivate. When i buy, this captivate is on phoenix rom.Anything is allright but problem is : when i have a text message. If i don't see this message, the light of 4 button is always on.I try to isntall spendi rom and the problem is too.My question is my captivate have the problem or every captivate have the same problem.Thx!
Only a few ROMs have that feature built-in. Not really sure how to turn them off at the top of my head though...
look for either BLN or Blinky in your app folder, then disable it.
it's not a problem, it's a kernel feature called "bln" or "back-light notification". there should be an app on the phone to manage it but they dont always work. you can always find a kernel that does not have bln at all if it bothers you.
Holy moley! I totally forgot about BLN/Blinky. Thanks for that, I've just learnt something new as well!

go into recovery mode there must be an option in your rom just hold your power button several seconds when you see the extented power menu just select recovery once in recovery select the advance kernel options you have(like advance speedmod ) using up and down volume button to select once in there you will see BLN just select it again and disable it and then reboot your phone.
note: up and down volume buttons to navigate selections power button to select.
Hello geeks,
I am having Milestone India, running on custom Cynogenmod rom
My problem is volume UP button is not operating. This creates problem even to enter openrecovery.
Any solutions?
Or else can someone suggest how to increase incall volume without using volume button?
That will also solve my problem.
Thanks
Well, looks like you could use a NO button method of loading AOR.

Try to flash the 90.78 Bootloader on your MS.
With that you have to press X + Powerbutton to enter the Recoverymode...

God! Guys you didn't answer his question!
The problem is that his Milestone is unable to enter the update menu after recovery mode.
I'm in the same situation, both of the volume keys don't work on my machine.
Hey dummy.
I did answer the question.
Nice first post. Have a nice day.
Next time, read the damn replies before making yourself look stupid again.
Thanks to zeppelinrox.
I tried it and worked.
So wonderful!
But after flashing Androidiani OpenRecovery 3.3
(I don't know if this is the cause),
it doesn't work anymore!
Everytime I reboot and press X,
it seems normal to enter recovery mode but
suddenly jump to the triangle screen.
Any comment?
Thanks.
You ran my script again and it no longer works?
Maybe you don't have vulnerable recovery patched
Thanks for prompt reply!
I now found the cause:
Androidani Openrecovery 3.3 doesn't work on my phone
I changed G.O.T 2.0 and now it works.
Maybe I need to download it again.
Yes you did not have VR patched in.
GOT has the VR patch built in.
Anyway finally I flashed TheFroyoMOD-v2.9.0 by using OpenRecovery_v1_46_for CM.
Gracias amigo por su ayuda!
Its resolved
The problem was Volume UP rocker button was not working, I got it repaired from Moto service station, Thanks a lot for all the wonderful options, and suggestions.
So kind of you!
Thanks again
Hey guys,
I have recently broken my incredible S screen and sent it to get fixed, when I got it back from my carrier (OPTUS) they reflashed their rom onto it and for some reason or another the volume up key doesn't press in.
Because of this I can't reinstall CWM to flash the roms I want.
I was wondering is it possible to flash a rom without using the up volume key?
NOTE: All I want to install is CM7.2 or ICS 4.04 Farewell edition.
Thank you all,
If you need to only flash a Rom, I would use 4ext. It's touch screen.
I need to reroot my phone and reinstall CWM - without the volume up key
have you uncheck fastboot?under power settings

You don't need to use volume keys to root your phone or gain superuser access. So once you do that boot into your phone as normal and download the 4ext app and install 4ext touch from within the app. When you go into bootloader you'll just have to press the volume down key to get to recovery.
Sent from my Incredible S using xda premium

Hey. All in one Gestures is the name of your app. Select <Single Tap> as 'No Reaction' for all buttons instead of power. Also you can turn off the capacitive's lights with 'Galaxy Button Lights' app if u haven't got that option in your seettings.
