I have a problem with my Galaxy Tab! Εvery now and then my Galaxy Tab give me a black screen with problem name: sim detach notifier and then my tab restarts alone!! Is there any solution for this problem?
Edit: I searched on Google to find a solution and i found that is a problem from the Sim card....., it is dirty or something like this, and now i'm using another one and it is ok....! Any ideas?
suggestion: freeze sim deta chnotifier with titanium backup
This problem happens to me too, time to time.
Freezing sim detach notifier with titanium backup should fix this. In fact, I have just checked that after freezing, if I really detach the sim card nothing happens and the tab does not reboot.
EDIT.
It is still possible that the sim card becomes "detached" after freezing sim detach notifier. This happened to me one time yesterday. However, the tab does not reboot, you just see the "no sim card" icon in the notification bar and of course you cannot place and receive phone calls, surf the internet, etc.. To enable this again you just switch to airplane mode and then go back to normal mode. By the way, when looking at the alogcat messages I noticed that the system keeps on calling sim detach notifier forever after the "detach" event: as soon as sim detach notifier is unfreezed, the tab does reboot...
This problem was big for me and I had to get a new one in the end. I've heard other tab owners who had the same problem, so maybe the tab is sensitive for problems in this area.

Hi all,
Now and then (quite often lately) it happens that my top bar 'H' icon for my HSDPA connection gets grayed out.
It happens when there's no active data connection and as long as it is grayed out, I cannot use data since any attempt results in the message that the connection couldn't be started due to an unknown problem.
While searching through the forums and Google I couldn't find any topic regarding this issue.
The only way to get the normal 'H' icon and a useable data connection is either a soft reset or to switch off and on the phone (comm manager) again.
I have had this problem with all official ROM's (1.35, 1.37 and 1.93).
Note: I don't believe it's on the carrier side, since I have never had such a problem before, with all kinds of devices I have used in the past. The Diamond is the first device for me showing the grayed out icon and all...
See the attachment for a screenshot.
Anyone? Thanks!
Had a search and found this.......
It is possible to find other cases of what your experiencing, just its also called Grey Icon or Black Icon.
Heres the results of my search:

This was a problem when I first had my Diamond, I turned off HSDPA and everything was fine on 3G, and since updating my ROM my Diamond has been fine.
Hope some of the posts above help fix the problem your having.
Good luck!
hi mate,
dont know if this is any use to you or not but i was having some problems with my phone messaging and so i got a new sim card from my operator. I rang them and asked them to activate it for me and i was told my old card would become useless once it was activated. I noticed that once my new card was activated i had that very same icon appear when my old sim card was switched off. Try getting a new sim card as it worked for me
I bought a Virgin Mobile phone at Best Buy for $30 with no intention of activating the phone. I just want to give it to my kids to use on WiFi. I set up Google Hangouts and was able to get it texting and calling through Hangouts with a google number, so everything is working how I was hoping it would and the phone seems to be great.
The only problem is that the phone keeps bugging me to activate it every time I start it up. Does anybody have any tips for me removing that notification? I also tried pulling the SIM card but then it complains about not having a SIM card.

Hi,
I purchased HTC 510 for the same purpose. To use the phone without activation, I switched the Airplane mode on. After that I was able to browse the internet, install applications from the Play store and play media on the samsung TV.
Slide the notification bar down
Click on the square in the top right hand corner for settings
click on Airplane mode on.
Oh, great tip! I will try that when I get home from work. That's even less invasive than what I ended up trying.
Here is what I did:
I rooted the phone and then installed an app that has the ability to "freeze" unwanted applications. I froze anything related to Sprint or data and it stopped bugging me, although it still has a little icon telling me the SIM card is invalid, or something like that...
I didn't post an update on here telling what I did because I wasn't sure if I was done yet. There may be other changes I need to make, but I would rather just simply put it in airplane mode like you suggested.
LG G6 - tmobile unlocked with AT&T Sim - Contacts App crashing only if sim present
I have an unlocked tmobile phone with an at&t sim. The contacts app does not open and I keep getting an error message that "Contacts keeps stopping ". This happens only when the simcard is inside the phone. As soon as I remove the card from the phone, contacts app works fine.
I tried the following and none of them work with the sim inside.
1. Booting the phone in safe mode
2. Clearing the cache and data for contacts
3. Wiping out the cache partition
4. Master reset
Any idea on resolving this ?
Interesting, I've got this exact same issue and did not find how to resolve it so, I'm trying to sell the phone, no root and basic issues as such make me wonder about my choice
I had the same problem. It has something to do with video calling I believe. I powered on my phone with a t mobile SIM in it. I then hot-swapped to the AT&T SIM with the dialer open - it rebooted due to the hot-swap, and the contacts app and dialer work fine now.
It may work by booting with no SIM, opening contacts (or dialer) and then inserting it.
I had same issue. use different dialer app
i have been usign drupe .

Thank you! This got my working again.
Same setup - T-Mobile Unlocked on AT&T network.
Powered off the phone without the SIM & SD Card. Opened the phone/contacts app, inserted the SIM card/SD Card holder. Phone rebooted and worked.
I bought a used t-mobile galaxy s8. The website I used said clean imei and I put my sim in the phone and it worked fine. After taking it home it stopped working. I played around with the settings to get it work and came to find that it works briefly after turning phone off and then back on. After about 10 minutes I can't make call or even perform a speed test via speedtest app. The dialer screen will not even load and remains blank, then no calls incoming or internet. If i restart then it starts again. This made me suspicious and I eventually found the t-mobile imei site which says it has an outstanding balance and may not be able to be used. I just find it weird it works then stops. Is that what is causing it? Will it eventually stop working completely?
call tmobile and describe your issue. they can help or at least tell you what to do.
OP, where did you buy the phone from?
I purchased one from S**p*a and have similar concerns.
I recently had the same issue.
I found out somehow an option was enabled that made it seem like i was network blocked or had a bricked sim card.
Under settings/connections/more connection settings/wifi calling
Make sure the middle option is selected and not "never use cellular network"
For some reason every samsung phone i have owned has enabled this option atleast once during ownership.

Hello, I got several issues with the Android 11 on my Samsung S10, could You please try to help me with these ?
DESCRIBTION of facts thats apply to all the below issues:
SIM1 is my default/main card for all activities including data. And I want it to stay that way all the time.
SIM2 is my additional card and I want it to stay that way all the time, except when I turn off SIM1.
ISSUES:
1. When I receive mms on SIM2 I can`t see it. I only see a message to download it. When I try to download it, I see a system message: "Receiving multimedia messages will temporarily disconnect your device from the mobile nbetwork currently in use". When I agree to that, the phone tries to download the message. But with no success. If I really want to download it, I need to change that SIM2 get the prioryty to download data. Is it some bug ?
2. I need to turn of one SIM card from time to time (exactly when I sleep ). I would like to have a widget for it, but I see none in Play Store Did I miss something? What I achieved is only that I have made a shortcut with [Shortcut Maker] programm that takes mi directly to [Setting/Connections]. Is it possible to have a widget or at least a shortcut directly to [SIM card manager] menu in the Setting/Connections ??
3. Even if I manage to turn off one SIM card with the [Settings... SIM card manager], I still have some trouble. It takes too many steps to achieve what I want to do. What exactly is the problem ? My SIM1 card is the default one as I described above. SIM2 is only for emergencies and noboy except my family knows it. So I turn of SIM1 for the night. Automatically alll the actions goes to SIM2 (calls, sms, data), as one card have to stay turned on). Thats ok. But then, in the morning, I turn on SIM1. The problem is that all the actions stays in SIM2 ! To fix it I need to take the following steps:
- turn on SIM1 (actions stays in SIM2 :/ )
- turn off SIM2 (actions moves to SIM1)
- turn on SIM2 (actions stays in SIM1 and SIM2 is back online)
WTF ? Should it work that way ??
