Hello,
Suddenly some days ago when i pressed wifi, it goes in and off every second without connecting to any network.
I can use the phone without any problems. Just the wifi is the issue.
I had a similar problem last month, but then i couldnt even go into reccovery and i had to root my phone from step 1, and installing also the original band that came with the phone.
I did a full wipe and installed a new rom, but again the same problem.
Any ideas how to fix this?

Ok found the solution. I was using a Gapps zip file that was probably corrupted and messed up the settings.

I am on rooted stock LPY. I noticed that whenever I try to connect to wifi it says connecting then stuck at obtaining ip address and then disconnected. I have tried more than one router and I am getting the same results. I have googled this and one solution is to have a static ip address. The problem is that this setting is no longer available in ICS. Any idea how to fix this without wiping (I am too afraid to wipe given all the fuss about it).

Did you flash the LPY Rom with or without full wipe? That might be the cause.
You can flash a new modem and see if it's fixed. I can't think of anything else...
Experiment with frequency band under advanced wifi settings.

When i was on ICS i had the same issue.
This is what made it work for me:
- remove network from device, disable wifi and turn off device
- turn off internet modem(if you have any) and router, wait at least 2 min.
- turn on modem and router
- turn on device, enable wifi and connect to network
Hope it works out for you

With wifi disabled, if you have root, go to /data/misc/dhcp/ and delete all 3 files there.
I had problems on LPY where wifi would connect but ip address wouldn't get assigned.
Deleting the 3 files in /data/misc/dhcp/ fixed it for me. No probs since
Re-flash with wifi off, make the sincronization with google on 3g and then turn on wi-fi connection

I gathered all my courage and flashed a pre rooted GBrom via pc Odin, no wipes, no cleaning, no nothing . once back on GB i only performed one hard reset and felt confident enough to flash CWM back on it. I would give you the link, but am on my phone right now and can't find it, but the rom is in Bodivas thread around here.
It worked out well for me, but as you probably know...no garantuees.
Btw, sorry to see your wifi still not working

Hmm. Those 3/4 files should get recreated if DHCP is working properly on your phone.
Perhaps you phone is missing stuff in /system/etc/dhcpcd/?
Another thing just popped into my mind - did you restore your Wifi Access point details via Titanium Backup? I think that may have been an issue for me too on LPY... don't restore is best.
Or just downgrade to GB, full wipe and flash LPF
Do you have soundhound or dolphin browser hd installed?

I'm on LPY too. When I'm at office I have no issues with wifi connection but when I'm back home I start to have issues. It shows connected and I get no error or disconnected messages what so ever. But device looses wifi connection short time after connected. I check wifi connection on laptop and there is no problem but on my Note even though it shows connected I have no connection. Turning wifi off/on fixes it sometimes but most if the time it doesn't.

Finally ... wifi working as it should

Just flashed / rooted ZSLPF ICS following Dr. Ketan's guide and now I have wifi again . Having read so many posts about this, it would appear that the wifi issue has something to do with the CF-Root kerenal. Thanks buddy

I just saw this post and thought I shoud help him even after two years passed.
Go to Settings >> Wireless and Networks >> Turn on WiFi
Long press on connected network >> Modify Network >> IP Settings>> Menu >> Static
Assign your IP address and leave other credentials as they are. Save settings and you are done.
I have an SCH-i800 that I have CM9 (p1c 9.1.0) installed on. I have been using it for several weeks with no problem. Since I am planning on going on a trip, I decided to active pre-paid Verizon service for the tablet. At first, I attempted to activate the device. It went through the phone call but after a minute, it just sat at activating. That is when I noticed that the radio state in the status bar had an X on it. I rebooted the tablet to try again and got "com.android.phone has topped unexpectedly". I re-flashed CM9 (at the time I was using 9.0.0) and it worked again. Activation was not necessary. After a day, the error came up again and radio state went to off with an X. I tried 9.1.0, same problem after a day. I even tried a nightly CM10, same problem. Reboots, cache wipes, permission fixes do not make it work. The error persists until a re-flash of CM. I see on the Support Downloads for the Verizon Tablet, there are two modem files. My baseband version is currently S:I800.0.3V.EI04. I have attempted to "flash" these both via Odin (which failed after a couple minutes) and ZIP (which looked like it worked) to the EC02 on the site, but my baseband doesn't seem to change.
So my first question is, is there a how-to on flashing as I have searched high and low on one for the Verizon Tab specifically, and have yet to find one. Is there a ZIP file that is specifically meant for the i800? I am almost certain this is my problem and that a downgrade (this tablet when stock was updated to the latest Verizon image).
My second question is, has anyone else experienced this? Is there someone that is using a CM9 Verizon tab with EI04 baseband and not have this problem?
Is there a way I can track down what crashed the program? I have tried logcat, but it doesn't appear to give me much detail other than to tell me that it stopped.
And if you ask, no I did not use the Verizon service with this tablet before putting CM9 on it, so I wouldn't know if it worked before.
Any input that someone could provide would be useful. Thanks!
Hi,
my phone doesn't connect to the network by itself after a new ROM install or a reboot. I have to turn on & off the airplane mode to connect it. When it's connected it's working as well as always. No matter which ROM I'm using... I have this issue for a couple of days now. It worked with every custom ROM before. Any ideas?

I just updated to CM 10 RC1 over-the-air from CyanogenMod on my Sprint HTC One a few days ago (when it was released). I went to update to the newest nightly today, but cancelled the download midway because my WiFi speeds were way too slow and the download was draining my battery too fast. Now, my phone is stuck on "Searching for Service", and I can't figure out how to get it to get signal again, because I AM in an area with very good signal. Any ideas? I need my phone working ASAP!
I've tried rebooting, as well. No luck. Also tried restoring an older Nandroid - still no luck.

This worked perfectly! Thanks a bunch!
I am also having the same problem. After flashing the latest release candidate. I lost my service and my mobile network state says disconnected now. I've tried everything so far no luck. I've gone back into my original stock nandroid and nothing. No matter what I flash to, phone has no service.
Change the network mode once after reboot otherwise you get no service at all...T_T

You also need to change the CDMA subscription if you're using a simcard.

I have this same issue with the RC1 and have been changing the network mode to get service as well. After that the phone is fine. Does anyone know what causes this or if there's any way to resolve it or if that is purely on CM's end? When using the previous 10.1 nightlies (specifically 8/7/13) I don't have this problem, but when moving to this RC and the 10.2 nightlies (september 5) I still have the issue despite a full wipe (data, system...) before flashing each ROM. Don't have this issue with sense-based roms though.

thanks so much!!! :good: this worked for me. just a heads up though - I accidentally tried this with the cm10.2 nightlies first (despite the fact that this problem exists with those nightlies too) and it ended up causing an error (com.android something continuously popping up...) but this fixed the signal problem after restart with the 10.1.3 RC2 rom.
much appreciated!
I flashed PA from Cynogen and all was working well when suddenly my signal went to 0. I thought that there was no reception but after sometime noticed that it was still like that. Tried this sim on another phone and it worked. Tried a new sim on this phone and it was not working. Did a clean flash of PA, flashed CM. The problem is still there. Any one else faced this issue before?
yes many a times, use the search.... cause you are not making me go through my profile just to copy paste the fix in the lpy thread.
