I recomend you Handcent SMS, have privacy options like private inbox, passwords, an you can simulate that msgs are other kind of notification, and many more

Is there a way to add a vibration when I receive an e-mail?
I'm running a G1 with Cyanogen 4.2.4.
Open up Gmail, or Email if that's what you're referring to... go to settings and notifications and check the box next to vibrate. It's the same for Gmail, Email, Gtalk, and SMS, but they are independent and can all be set up however you like.
With 1.5 ans Sense UI it's nice and easy for me to text everyone from a group I've set up in my contacts on Gmail. I'm trying some 2.1 ROM's and wondering how I can do it with these?

I am using the handcent sms application but now i have double notifications.
Handcent SMS app when i receive in coming messages and 2nd one from default sms client is there a way i can stop the default sms client to give me the notifications and only get the notifications from the handcent sms app ?
Go into the default messaging app, then settings, then uncheck Notifications(display message in status bar).

Open Google Voice, hit Menu > Settings then check Notifications via Text Message. This will send the notification as a text and Handcent will then just bring up it's normal popup. Otherwise Voice doesn't have its own popup capabilities.

I have a stock, Sprint HTC One M7 running Android 5.0.2 & HTC Sense 6.0.
Has anyone had the problem where a 3rd party messaging app (Google Messenger, Pulse, etc.) is not storing and providing notifications of incoming messages? Almost daily, I have instances where people will send me a text, and I get no notification from the 3rd party app. If I go into HTC Messages, I do see those texts, but again they are not storing in the 3rd party app. I do not have HTC Messages set as the default app.
I did communicate with one developer and he thinks the HTC Messages is not writing properly to the internal database. I'm guessing other messaging apps pick up the messages from a single database, then show a notification? I'm still stock, so I can't disable HTC Messages.
Any suggestions to solve this?
