[Q] [PATCH REQUEST] Add ADD "SENDING NETWORK TIMESTAMP" OPTION to received SMS
Dear all,
the problem is simple...as is possible to notice, when sms arrive the displayed time is the received and not the sent one...
this fact is valid for all the new generation smartphones, iPhone included..
=> I really hate this fact because sometimes happens that my phone is off or it has not signal and, after the signal is back again, I receive tons of SMS with the same time....and perhaps some of them all already "expired" since they are referred to a past event...
old phones like Nokias, ecc. displayed ALWAYS the "sent time" and not the "received one"...
I've seen that has been already opened an issue on the Android Dev Code : http ://code. google. com/p/android/issues/detail?id=2989
what is more interesting to observe is that seems the base SMS application (but also Handcent SMS) uses the local handset time for the date called thru System.currentTimeMillis()...(http ://code. google .com/p/android/issues/detail?id=2989#c40)
and, as I've seen ([http ://code. google .com/p/android/issues/detail?id=2989#c39) it is possible to set the "network time" using the Android.Telephony.smsMessage.getTimestampMills()
now..could someone look into this issue and try to write a patch for our Galaxy S (but also for other phones should be the same..)? because I've not so much time and I'm not very familiar with Android code..
thank you very much,
Alessandro
up
please...could someone consider this? don't you think it's an interesting feature?
I would like this feature .
I for one would welcome this change.
I'll try to write some code today and see if I can read the timestamp.

I would like to see this in action too. I'm fed up of Android not supporting some of the most basic cell phone features .

many thanks
and I think it will also useful for all the Android community!!
oh... i used to view the properties of the msg to read the sent time with nokix, already forgot that it should be sent time but not rec time
Where is possible to find the sources of the native Android SMS application?
Could anyone post them (or something similar?)..then I'll try to hack the code
If i remember correct, the HTC Desire did not have this issue with default sms client.
Hope someone will find a fix for this annoying issue soon.
Possible fix
I know it's a little late but I found an app called SMS Timestamper Fix that seems to be working so far and it's free. Hope this helps.

Thanks for this one!
Bump. I once had a mms.apk that had the sent timestamp instead of received timestamp. Now no developer knows how to recreate it.
Hi, I'm a P990 user in Hong Kong, and i use the 2.3 rom(all 2.3.X in here) here, and i have a problem of it, when i use **21*xxxxxxx# or ##21# to call forward the phone line, it said that "Connection problem or invalid MMI code"
How can I fix it?Thanks a ot~
DO you speak about CyanogenMod 7?
Yes.
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA Premium App
Yes, I'm also experiencing this, but if you instead go through the menu to set the forwarding, then it works. Doesn't take that much longer.
yes, it's work in the menu , but i had save the no. **21*XXXXXXXX# in phonebook, and then press the phonebook can do this, it's very convenient ofr me.....
Since the update to jellybean 4.1 i hear a voice when i scroll from one screen to the next. The voice tells to which screen i am going, like: four from six. The voice can not be turned off. Even when the sound is turned off, the voice stays. I' ve looked all over the settings off the phone, but i can't find an option to turn it off. Does anyone know how to get rid of this annoying thing?
Wear a hat made from tinfoil. That should block the voices.
Are you using a custom launcher?

been there, done that: talkback disabled, still got this mechanical voice calling: page four of seven etc.
Try totally disable talkback feature.
And I dont think you need to start 2 thread on the same topic.

Hey guys, I apologize if this has been asked before. I wanted to post this right in the actual Android R HD thread but because I am new it will not let me.
My only question is -- I have successfully put this ROM on my HTC One AT&T phone, and it is all working wonderfully, it's just that Ok Google is not activating. Am I doing something wrong or is this universally affecting Android Revolution HD on the HTC One? I have the hotword enabled so that saying Ok Google should work, but it doesn't. I don't have power save mode activated. When I hold the Home button, it will let me activate the search by saying Ok Google, but just nowhere else.
Thank you all for everything.
Bump, please friends
First of all, your question is extremely vague. Which ARHD are you running? ARHD GPE edition? ARHD Sense? Are you using the Google Experience Launcher? Is Obama going to butt rape us all?

I thought this feature only existed on the new Motorola phone and the Nexus 5. Is this really supposed to work for us as well?

choose your language as US english, it will start working.
When I enable the "OK Google" voice command in the settings, there are usually options to enable the command from any screen, however that option is not present on my Z3c. Any ideas on how to get this to work?
Thanks
QUESTIONS DO NOT BELONG HERE.
That being said, what you ask of is there. go to google search settings, click on voice, go to ok google detection. from there, check from any screen box, and it'll have you repeat ok google 3 times to learn your voice. then on, it's from any screen.
Sorry about the question.
As I stated in the post, the option "from any screen" does not appear on my settings.
This is a picture of the screen I come to in the settings.
is it in English?

Yes, it is.
Hi
You can try setting your phone language to US English and updating the Google Search app. It may appear then.
Alternatively you can download an app called OpenMic+ which may help...
I have the option on my phone and it works...problem is when you enable it the stock camera app sees it as an app that is using the mic all the time and it shows an error. there is currently no fix

Turns out the app needed an update, figured the brand new phone would have the latest update!
Thanks
Just to note, even if the application is updated, if it has never been opened, it still wont offer the option to listen from any screen, unless you run the application at least once.
