[Q] Wrong Firmware loaded - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a I-9000M from Bell. By mistake, I flashed to stock of Galaxy Vibrant (T-mobile). I think I found the right flash, I get into download mode and download the flash using Odin. However, when rebooting the phone gets into recovery mode. When I try to format the internal SD it gives a mount error. When I try to boot it remains stuck at the flashing "S".
I was on KG3 before trying to load the Vibrant software.
Any ideas how I can get the phone to reboot?
Thx,
Mike

Help - boot logo freeze on startup

Hi,
I've been checking around the forums, and I've seen similar instances, but they seem to all be with the Canadian version which is why I thought I would ask before doing anything else.
I have the Galaxy S i9000 european version. Was rooted, and had lagfix (Voodoo) and was using stock ROM.
Using ROM manager I flashed the clockwork mod recovery. Booted into recovery everything went well. (was just testing that it works).
So now I click reboot and it gives me the static galaxy s screen, then the moving S. Waits for about a min or two, then screen goes black.
So i tried going to recovery mode, that works, but its the samsung 2e recovery mode not the clockwork recovery mod.
So now I'm not sure how to continue. Before I put on the voodoo fix, I did a backup using CWM. its on the internal SD card though. So I though if there was some way to access CW recovery mode perhaps I could restore my backup (assuming that my internal SD card isn't toast like from what I understand most people in Canada are experiencing). I haven't tried flashing with ODIN or adb as I don't want to screw things up more. I can however confirm that I put the phone in download mode, connected to PC, and ODIN did recognize it as 0:[COM15]
Just for reference, I've downloaded I9000XXJF3 (I'm 99% sure that is the version it shipped with) from Samfirmware, which contains a few .tar files. (no pit files) Just in case I have to flash with ODIN (never used it before), please let me know if I do need a pit file.
Sorry for the long winded thread, just wanted to provide all info.
Follow up: I attempted to flash I9000XXJF3 with ODIN with PIT512 and re-partition enabled. Flash seemed ok. Phone rebooted as expected, except it went into 2e recovery. So I selected reboot, and now it did its normal boot got to the moving galaxy s screen and then black again. Any suggestions before I try to take it in for service?

[Q] Phone Won't Write Packages From Odin - Doesn't Enter Recovery

I have been trying to write firmwares from samfirmware.com onto my galaxy s, and when I write them it just flashes the boot logo, and then resets. I figured out that it isn't actually entering recovery to install the package. Is there any way to fix this? Or have I officially bricked it?
Note: I just unrooted, that's when the problems started. (stupid I know) I was running CWM Recovery, and Darky's Rom
does it enter download mode ??
if so flash a full 3 file firmware in odin with pit and repartition
EDIT: you cant flash odin files in recovery.. only in odin using download mode
Did your phone have 3BR to start with?
Yeah it enters download mode, says pass when I flash it etc, just when it reboots it doesn't write the flashed package. Do you know where I can get a 3 part package?
@geesamsungs - what do you mean...? Sorry, only very new to flashing.

SGS Semi-Brick , Help would be appreciated !!!

Hello buddies,
I was using my DarkyModded SGS i9K and all of a sudden my phone's lock screen got freezed and i tried it shutting down but i wont recognize ,then i had removed my battery and rebooted it.Now the problem comes !!
It wont Reboot i.e It's stuck on Galaxy S -powered by Darky ROM screen !
i tried with odin to reflash it back to stock,Reinstall Darkymod, Stock Froyo but no luck!!
but it booted into Stock 2.3.x and was booting very very slow @ 1FPS of sgs animation ,so i accessed the recovery but it was also too slow even it was taking the input after a sec , i wiped it and still no booting up and one more thing my phone displayed once the BSOD logo and now my sgs can go into download mode also but cant reboot after flashing with odin ,ezodin!!
I would be grateful if anybody snapped me out of this crap !
Thankyou!
If you can get into download mode, then flash stock with Odin, 2.2 is a good option, was for me anyway. Hope this helps.
Which odin roms have you tried?

EZodin 2.2 (Preroot+CWM3),Odin used for DarkyROM,Odin for Gingerbread ROM!
still no luck in booting !!
If you can get recovery, go to mount and storage then format everything. Then flash bootloader with ezboot and after that a stock rom with odin. It's just a try...maybe you're luck and it works

Sounds to me that u are going to have to format the system via recovery, and then flash stock 2.2 with Odin

When flashing with Odin have you done a repartition?
Yep!
tried all possible ways!
:/
Re-format system, boot into recovery and go...mounts and storage-format system. Im no expert and please do this with caution and at your own risk. After format you will need to flash to 2.2 or something safe.
Already tried it says errors can't be formatted unable to unmount "/dbdata"!!
:/
please help me!!

1st of all buy a jig, it will give you download mode and reset the counters. Have you maybe got a corrupt internal sd card ? See when this happened to me I flashed stock via Odin, then I rooted and got clockwork recovery and formated ststem, then a custom rom. Are you seeing recovery and download mode, or are you seeing a pc and triangle with a cross.

Umm..so, if i get Odin 2.2 official then can i fix up my bootloader bootloop problem?
Yeah it helped me out, also pit files caused me problems in the past, my advice is get Odin v1.82 and froyo 2.2. Try it without the pit, just use Pda Phone and CSC. If it doesnt work try with the pit. Make sure the files are in correct boxes. Let me know friend

[Q] Bricked Gnote, no experience on the field

so i have been running Paranoid android for a while, and wanted to try this out:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2051904
flashed the latest cm10.1 kernel, and then formated cache, dalvic, battery stats, etc.
then i managed to reboot before i had flashed the new rom and got stuck in bootloop. could not access CWM any more
after this i downloaded odin after a few forum reads, and flashed different versions of CWM to see if i could get back in to flash the rom.
the latest one i have in it is this:
http://fs1.d-h.st/download/00033/pQK/GT-I9100_JB_ClockworkMod-Recovery_6.0.2.9.tar
as it was recommended in some un-brick thread. still no access to CWM
after this i flashed a stock rom, as i could not find any .md5 or .tar roms to use with odin, and i got at least a samsung logo on hte screen, before i got back to boot screen and was stuck there again.
CWM still not working, or showing up in any way.
out of obvious options i now tried flashing the pit file trough odin from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
and after this the samsung boot logo did not show up anymore. only boot loop
i am now going to try and download the older ginger bread rom and flash it trough odin, but i got no idea if it will make any difference.
otherwise phone goes to download mode just fine, and i got working drivers in windows trough kies.
im quite new to this, and dont really know what would work from here. ill end up hard bricking the phone if i don't get some help, and the trash can will be my n7000 next home.
any advice is welcome

EDIT:
flashing official rom again after the pit file acrually gave me a working phone again. also i now got 50 gb of drop box storrage for free, so thats nice

[Q] HELP! GT-I9305T needing a PIT file

Hi attempted to install a ROM on my phone and it crashed when rebooting the phone, it constantly loops around Downloading Do not turn off target.
So I was able to get into Recovery Mode running ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.2.9. Then I got an error saying it can't mount the sdcard (internal), so in all my genius... I formatted the internal sdcard, and when rebooting the phone, it still does the same thing. And then when I go back into recovery mode, there's nothing for me to restore because I stupidly formatted.
So now I'm trying to locate a PIT file to repartition the internal.
Australian Telstra Samsung Galaxy S3 4G.
Needing a Pit file to run on Odin v3.0.7.
I've got the stock Telstra tar file.
Or is there another way to fix this dilemma???
AW: [Q] HELP! GT-I9305T needing a PIT file
Hi,
I would try two ways to gwt the things running.
1. In Recovery Mode clean Data/Cache, Dalvik Cache an Battery Stats. Put a Rom on a SDCard and put it in the phone. Install from external SD Card and do a little prayer....
2. Put Phone in Download Mode and flash the original Firmware back on the phone. If flashing was successful, try again to flash a custom Rom...
Good Luck, Mate:thumbup:
