webtop issue - Motorola Droid Bionic

I can seem to find anything on this, and my apologies in advance if this has been discussed somewhere else, but I have the atrix lapdock and rewired to use it for the bionic. I know the dock works as I have connected it to my rarz with no problem yet when I plug the bionic in I have no success. The bionic works just fine in the HD Media dock.
Its running Liberty3 v 2.0 on 5.8.893(I think that was the last install) and the webtop version is WT-1.3.0-108_DBN-21.
Any help as to why it might not work on the lapdock but with the HD media dock would be helpful. Thanks

[Q] hdmi dock mini hdmi adapter?

I have a westinghouse 32" 1080p tv. I got the hdmi mulitimedia dock yesterday. I a hdmi cable someone had gave me awhile back that ive never used since ive dont have anything that used it. when I got home and found it took a mini hdmi I got an adapter. after plugging everything in I get no video and the sound goes in and out. like 5 sec on 5 sec off. I cant test on another tv and after searching all day I havent found any1 with this problem. but it seems like they all have the a to c cable. could it be that I need to buy a new cable. does anyone have it working using a regular hdmi cable with a hdmi mini adapter. I.m using the newest overcome rom kratos
I also have the dock and am using overcome kratos, however I don't have the right cable to connect the dock to my tv. I could swear that I read somewhere that the overcome builds don't support TV out.
that is interesting of all the things I thought was the problem I didn't think it would be my rom. could someone confirm this I don't really think I want to switch from overcome

Just tested mine and had no issues. Both picture and sound working. Mini hdmi to hdmi straight from the dock to tv.
just bought the hdtv adapter for p1000 after plug in the screen flashes on the tv but doesnt stay on. I am running GingerBread 2.3.3. I cant seem to solve the issue, I even tried on a newer tv and it does the exact same thing.

I have exactly the same problem as well. I am on Overcome 4.0. I have also tried with 2 different TVs with no success. Still looking for a solution...
I have the same problem
I had theorised that it was because I had updated using the nowipe option! (overcome Kratos edition)
Over the holidays I intend to do a clean Kratos install to see if that sorts it.
I hope you have plugged in the charger to the dock, or else it wont work!
aye done that. no joy though
Yes, charger is plugged in. But still no luck. Tried my wife's Galaxy Tab, which is on Kratos and the exact same issue with the picture showing snow and the occasional flash of the Galaxy Tab screen. I'm wondering if the HDMI Dock itself is faulty.
If so, then my dock has the exact same fault!
I now believe that the snow/static image symptoms that we are seeing is actually indicating an "HDMI Handshake" issue. So I am now researching as much as I can to see if there if anything I can do to rectify HDMI Handshake issues. I'll let you know if I resolve anything.

I tried many ROM(some stock froyo, stock gingerbread, overcome 4.0), only with 2.3.6. cromed works a little better, but still working with the snow for 2 seconds and dark for 5-8 seconds.
I have the same issue. Tried also many ROMS (OC 4.0, Boca RC1, Miui), but no working hdmi output. Is there any ROM where it works?
Last night I flashed my Galaxy Tab with the new and awesome Overcome 4.1.0. HDMI output works fine now.

Just tried flashing Overcome 4.1.0. HDMI is still not working for me. I am wondering if the cable I am using is dodgy. I am using a 2 metre Mini HDMI to HDMI cable. Anyone successfully using a 2m or longer cable?
I use a mini HDMI to HDMI cable, but it is only 1 m long. What is your System? PAL or NTSC?
that is how I am working my setup!

[Webtop]: Bluetooth crashes webtop.

I recently purchased an HDMI cable to use my Bionic with, and alongside it, I also have an Acer AK00LB bluetooth tablet keyboard that I purchased for my Android devices. I have used this keyboard with everything; it works perfectly with my computer and the base Android OS on the Bionic. However, when I pair and attempt to use it with the Webtop mode enabled, the entire phone crashes from anywhere to a few seconds to a minute of use. It doesn't do this unless the Bluetooth keyboard is connected and typed on. I don't know whether it's the custom ROM I have installed, a problem with the webtop itself, or the keyboard. Has anyone else run into this problem?
I am using:
An Acer AK00LB IconiaTab keyboard.
ROM: [R3]BLURR3D v2.0
The Webtop is base. I have not tried reflashing the webtop partition yet.
I am also using Webtop2SD and the appropriate 'ubuntu expansion' packages.
If someone can tell me where the webtop might store core dumps or log files, I can pull them off and post them.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

[Q] Outputing Android OS at 1156x768 to Lapdock

I just got the $80 Droid Bionic Lapdock and it's working beautifully with my Droid 4 but Webtop leaves a bit to be desired.
What I really want to do is simple. I want to run CM9 and have the tablet UI show up when I dock the phone.
So far I've gotten Android to show up instead of Webtop by using my old Droid 3, however it was not output in the lapdock's native resolution due to the way the phone handles HDMI out. Obviously under normal circumstances you want both screens to be showing the same image but for this to work I need Android to be output at full res (1156x768)
Lets hack it to disable the built in screen and switch over entirely to the HDMI output but at native resolution. I will continue to work on my rooted phone and ICS Droid 3 but if anyone has done any more work please do share!
Not sure what I can contribute but I will gladly help and test on my end. I have an atrix lapdock working at the moment. I would love to either get a webtop2sd to work, or a full debian/ubuntu install running on the lapdock. Let me know if i can test anything.

No audio over HDMI?

cant get audio to work over hdmi.
it isnt the tv or the cable as it works fine with my atrix 2.
tried it with minimoto and stock,no go on both.
any ideas?
When I had the same problem what worked for me was:
Rebooting with the HDMI cable connected both to the TV and the phone.
Hopefully that will work for you too!
Sent from my DROID3 using xda app-developers app
thanks. i will try that. is there a reason for this? im not on 906,could that be the problem?
it will suck if I have to turn off the phone and do that everytime to get it working,I want to use the droid 3 as my main system to play 16-bit game roms using blue tooth

ROMs that work with mouse & keyboard, HDMI output

Hi all, I've got a KFHD7 with CM11 running the tate Kit Kat ROM (thanks for your work Hashcode), but I can't seem to get a mouse or keyboard to work over bluetooth or USB OTG. HDMI output works fine (would be nice to have HDMI output resolution settings, but that's a bigger issue with Android AFAIK). We really need to be able to use it with a mouse and keyboard as I'm intending to use it as an Android desktop in our open device lab where I work. We test websites and apps and I'm trying to get it through to people that Android is (and will continue to be) much more than an OS for small touchscreens.
Do you guys know of any stable, recent ROMs at all that will work well with a mouse and keyboard?
Thanks!

I'm running CM11 as well, and I've got a bluetooth keyboard that works just dandy with it (wow, I don't think anyone says that anymore, but whatever ). I haven't tried a mouse, but I have no idea as to wether or not that would work. As for OTG stuff... well, the kernel used for the KFHD doesn't really support it yet. It's been talked about for a while, but there's still no option for it.

Any chance you can test a mouse? CM11 did not work with the bluetooth mouse for me. It paired fine, the pointer just never appeared.

If I had one, I would test it. Unfortunetly, I don't have one, and I don't have the funds to purchase one.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but months later I still don't know what to do. Can't get a mouse working over USB OTG or bluetooth on my CM11 Kindle. I always update it to the latest builds too. Any thoughts?
I think OTG is in the works. At least an attempt at it. Hashcode said something about it in the CM 11 thread.

The kernel does not support OTG, yet.

Can't make any promises about mice, I don't even have a bluetooth mouse to try it, but I am running kinology 3.2 (planning on updating to 3.3 soon) and my bluetooth keyboard is working perfectly with it. Maybe just a lil better than it did with original amazon os as well.
