Thanks.
I used Gingerbreak to root my Dell Streak before.
From that post, seems not sure if anyone using Note has tried Gingerbreak.

Used to work just fine on KKA, now LC2 gives a damned bootloop. Any pointers?

hmm familiar situation in ics manual change the config they said RomToolbox is cable to change the doi without any issues under ics. Hope this will help you too

I also used Rom Toolbox when I changed the DPI in my Note running GB. That worked just fine for me. Try it out.

Glad I could help.
Play with the dpi settings until you find the perfect for you.
I recommend 260 for Note. Is a density fairly usable for our screen!

Firmware differences

Hey there,
So I really want to root my Galaxy S GT-I9000T with a baseband version I9000TDVJV5 but I cant find a way to root it! I have though found a way to root the Galaxy S with firmaware version XXJW4. It is different to mind and its all done via Odin... What I want to know is CAN I DO THIS?!

nope, just use an app IF you only need root, if it fails try another
Do you have also problem with 3G...because after the update I lost the connection to 3G network of Optus, and I don't know how to recover this! I try to install the stock modem drivers but I dont know how to do it. I think through the odin, but I didn't figure! Any help I 'll appreciate!
I had that problem! I just flashed a telstra rom then the firmwate againd it was all good

You can use a adb method or if you can get in the recovery mode, flash a zip containing the mount system command, which makes that you can push the su binary over to the device

I didn't find no way to root this phone, please help me. You find a method to root galaxy s2-s3 that has android 4.2.2 and not help us that we have a phone with android 4.0.4. Didn't exsist only s2-s3-s4-note-etc..
