[A] Latest Google Music WORKS - Hero CDMA Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

FYI:
The latest Google Music app (in conjunction with the Opengles 2.0 change) will now work on the Hero CDMA!
At least... it doesn't force close anymore. Haven't tested further.
Edit: Working fine unless you rotate the screen to landscape... then it force closes.

[Q] [Google I/O] Music Beta not working on MT3G

The new Music Beta by Google app was leaked a few weeks ago, but it was a little buggy for me, so I was going to wait until the official release. well, it's out now, but it's not visible on my phone's market. It's visible on the web market, but my device is not listed as compatible. Requirements list froyo and up as a requirement, but nothing really else. Do you think that they're phasing out older devices again or could this just be a hiccup on the first day release?
Running
MyTouch 3G 1.2
w/ COS-DS 05062011 (2.3.4)
you could try installing it manually...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1072655
It still doesn't work in landscape mode for me, but thank you for the link. It will play music and I guess I'll find out later if it will sync music. After further research, I don't think that the Magic/MyTouch line is supported by this app because of OpenGL 2.0 being needed. I may be off though.
I installed the standalone apk and it installed and works just fine for me on my HeroC. Considering that the Hero and the MT3G are almost the same phones they should work fine.
Well, they're not exactly the same and there must be a reason it doesn't show up on the market. I get a FC every time I go landscape. I know it's not important, but I just want the album coverflow to work.
I can now confirm that music sync works just fine, but I want to know why it's not working with this model.

Widgets that work with the new google music app

Pure Music does not work, unfortunately. The developer claimed that it was fine on his 3g xoom but I never got it working correctly with my wifi xoom. Now that the new beta app is out with 3.1, it doesnt work at all on my xoom or evo.
Is there a better widget that is compatible with the new google music app? I dont want to use any other players because no other app's layout can even come close to the stock one.

Try increasing the minimum frequency of the CPU and /or changing governor.
Not sure about Google music, I had a version that worked but then tried an updated version and it just force closed no me
Edit
Just tried running Google music version 3 and it works fine on gb decked ROM. It was version 4 that I couldn't get to work

Thanks, but I increased the minimal cpu to 672 and the maximum to 710 MHz and tried all governors and it still pauses when turning off the screen.
Version 3 of google music starts up fine, but when I try streaming music it force closes
I am not having any problems and never had even on past versions of Elelinux's GB... I used and still using the kernel that came with the rom... Flykernel 13. I can admit that using other governor than smartassV2 I experience choppiness during screen-off music playback with all players.
Actually, having double checked poweramp, music is also pausing for me when screen goes off. Have checked all advanced settings and also poweramp settings but can't see why. Not sure why this happens but maybe something to do with latest power amp version ?
Ok have found a workaround for the poweramp issue. For me, it only pauses when in the app so using the widget from a home screen means I'm able to lock the screen without music pausing

That works! Thanks a lot
This bug has happened to me as well since the new version 2 was released. I reported the bug on the official forums and the dev replied saying its my fault for using a custom rom. Apparently its fine on 2.1 stock.
So I've gone back to poweramp 1.4 which works fine.
Google Music works here, but I cannot stream or make music aviable offline.
I don't think this is going to get fixed. I've tried every build of version 2 so far and this bug still remains.
Roll on feb 22!

4.4.4 Stock-rooted Nexus 4 mirror = FC

Guys, I've searched XDA a lot, google too and didn't find anything. I need some help with screencasting/mirror.
I own a N4 with stock 4.4.4, rooted, with Xposed framework and CF.Lumen app. Everytime I try to mirror/screencast my phone to my chromecast (plugged directly to my TV), Google Play Services crashes with the "stopped unexpectedly" message, and the TV screen goes black.
I've tried lots of stuff, like:
removing CF.Lumen;
using the mirror enabler app FC fix;
using the mirror enable app remaining options;
uninstalling and reinstalling chromecast app;
disabling HDMI-CEC on the TV (Anynet+, as it's a Samsung).
Even with mirror enabler quicksettings option turned on, the tile never appears, regardless of GravityBox being active or not.
Casting from Allcast, Play Movies, Netflix, Google+, Youtube, Remotecast or any other app works perfectly. No issue at all.
I never installed Viper Audio (found a thread with it being the reason for screencast not to work) and audio.r_submix file is present (it's the stock ROM).
I feel like I may be missing something really simple, but I'm really lost.
Chromecast app version 1.7.4
Google Play Services 5.0.89 (1307510-036)
Chromecast firmware 17977, powered by an USB power adapter, plugged directly into one of the TV's HDMI ports.
WiFi network is 802.11g/n
Xposed modules:
AppOpsXposed
CrappaLinks
DisableLocationConsent
GravityBox
Greenify
SwypeTweaks
XDictionary
Xtended NavBar

Any way to run 3rd party apps on AA with rooted Pixel 6 Pro without jumping through hoops?

Hi. I've been trying to run CarStream and Fermata Player on my Hyundai Santa Fe with my rooted Pixel 6 Pro but everytime I try to start these apps on my car, the apps keep force closing on my phone. If I patch using AA Phenotype Patcher and reboot, the apps work fine. But I have to do this every time. Can anyone suggest a way that I don't have to do this everytime I connect my phone to the car? I have tried cloning the apps using Lucky Patcher, tried using an older version of Android Auto, King Installer, AAAD, etc. But everytime I need to patch or clear data of AA in order to get 3rd party apps running in my car.
I have the same problem but haven't found a solution. All third party apps keep force closing on the latest AA 7.1 and even 6.9. and 6.8 refuses to run without updating itself to 7.1
Let me know if you find a solution
I did discover a fix by accident. So this is how my 3rd party apps run without any patching or clearing data again and again:
1. Fully updated AA on my phone using Play Store.
2. Downloaded CarStream and Fermata Player using AAAD.
3. Cloned the apps using Lucky Patcher and uninstalled CarStream and Fermata Player.
4. Installed patched versions of CarStream and Fermata Player using King Installer.
5. Patched CarStream and Fermata Player using AA Phenotype Patcher.
6. Uninstalled all the updates to AA from Play Store.
7. Connected my phone to car and updated AA when prompted.
That's it. From that time Carstream and Fermata Player stopped force closing and are running on every drive without me having to run the patches and rebooting the phone again and again. Let me know if it helps you too.
