Hello,
I just got my BH 503.
I am fairly satesfied but there is one thing that worries me.
When I pair the headset with my xperia and I pause the music playback for a second and listen closely I hear a very very shallow and distant high-pitched sound in the background that fades away once I have paused for more than 3 seconds.
It appears that the BT module inside the Headset is making this noice while it receives data.
Can you please check if you hear the same noise when you pause music playback for a second?
While playing it is also there only that you cannot hear it because the noise distracts you.
Thank you so much
Do you have any equalizers installed like SRS etc? I have 2 headsets that make the same noise when SRS is installed. None of them are Nokia though
I've been using Sennheiser CX-300 II's since I got the phone, but there's a clearly audible hiss when you plug them in, so I'm looking for something new. They don't need to have a remote or anything, I just want decent quality sound and minimal static hiss. My budget is up to 100€.
What I've been looking at is the Klipsch Image S4 or S5 (although the latter is stretching my budget a bit). Does anyone have any experiences with the HD2+ S4 combo?
I've been using Klipsh S2i and they are decent,
now got Shure Se315 and they are AWESOME, but a bit pricey (also you can change the kevlar cable with the one that has remote as earbuds have a bit dif construction than anything I had so far)
what I want to say is: HD2 sound quality isn't good even with EQ, my iPod touch has better bass and song are clearer than on HD2...
Maybe you got some fake cx 300. Check this thread anythingbutipod. com/forum/showthread.php?t=8392
They're genuine Sennheisers, that isn't the issue.
They work perfectly fine with other sources so it's just a mismatch with the HD2 and the CX-300 II's. I've tested the phone out with other headphones (Shure SRH-840, Koss PortaPro) and there was no hiss. With a proper source there's no hiss with the CX-300 II's either so it's all down to the phone not handing the earbuds correctly.
Bought today sennheiser cx 500, works perfectly w/ hd2.
Strange, I also have the CX300-II's
Sounds absolutely perfect on my HD2, and yes, I worked in a audio production studio so I am not deaf.

Could you test something out for me?
Play a song on the Sense music tab at a reasonable volume (over 50% for this test's purpose) and then hit pause. Can you hear a hiss for a few moments after you pause the song? For me there's a short period of hissing after which I assume the phone cuts power to the output so the hiss disappears. If I play a song the hiss is always on the background and it's incredibly annoying on quiet, mellow songs or audio books because I hear it all the time. It isn't really an issue with loud songs tho as the hissing is drowned out, but I digress.
I just tested out my Sennheiser HD 650's with the phone and there was absolutely zero hiss.

Because that is a headphone, and not a earbud
What does that have to do with anything? I know they're not earbuds.

Ok tested it but on Android which is basically the same.
I also hear 'hissing' but basically it is just the amplifier which cuts off after about 2 seconds of no output being detected.
It is not loud at all but I think that the Sennheiser has a lower output volume at the same setting which will offcourse also diminish the noise to background level.
Thanks for testing it out for me.
The reason I mentioned the HD 650's was because there simply isnt any hiss at any volume settings. I tried playing a track that starts out with a long stretch of silence and I couldnt hear any hissing even when the volume was maxed out. With the earbuds the hiss is clearly audible even at 20% volume.
Hey Lads,
I'm under the 10 post limit so i cant post this to the Roms Dev post.
But heres the situation.
Plug headphone jack into my phone, (playing music in the car)
When i recieve a notification, what ever music i'm playing at the time is also played out of the speaker along with the Notification tone.
I'm using power amp for music play, and have turned off pause when receiving notifications.
Could you explain more about what behaviour would you expect from the situation? No music, no notification?
It seems that you have forgotten to write what you need ;p
poweramp has a setting for temporary sound focus change
The speaker volume is normal when watching videos or listening to music, but when i toggle the speakerphone when calling - the volume is ULTRA quiet even in the max setting (from a distance the volume is practically the same as in the earpiece).
Any thoughts or additional questions that are necessary for you to help me?

I agree it's so low.... But I know the phone has a loud speaker. When I listen to music it's super loud.

Yeah I do
well, maybe a hint could be that i restore apps from Titanium, but how user apps may be connected to system volume???
found the reason. it was that i changed the DPI via ro.sf.lcd_density=400
I noticed that whenever I start, stop or fast forward a video/ music, a crackling and popping noise suddenly appears. For example when I exit a video on YouTube with the home button. The weird thing is that the weird noises only appears with youtube, Reddit, Netflix but not with Samsung music player. The noises also show up when I plug in headphones so I don't think it's the speaker's fault.

need more info on your setup. model number. root status. mods applied. Also better description of what you hear- pops, clicks, tone, volume, duration. you write the noises are showing up - is there something visible on the screen that is different?

The model number is SM-G998B/DS and the phone is unrooted. The noises are more like instant pops and when they show up, there is nothing visible on the screen that is different. The noises do not always appear when I stop or fast forward a video. It appears pretty randomly. I added a video that shows that noise when I for example stop a video.

No popping here unless I'm going deaf! Btw, screen recording won't actually help here as could be a hardware issue. You can record again using another device so that we can hear the pop.

Are you sure? The screen recording recorded the popping... I can hear it from the recording.

Hmmm...then I need to get my ears checked.
I'm not sure I hear distinct popping noises in the recording. You've applied the most recent security/feature update?

It happens when I exit youtube with the home button, and I have the June update. Not the August one.
