[Q] Anybody using PDroid on their Note successfully? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just tried a patch I generated for this rom:
[ROM] 2.3.6 Deodexed STOCK XXKL3/Modem DDKL1 - MultiCSC - Rooted (CF-Root-KL3, CWM5)
It didn't work. Has anybody successfully gotten PDroid to work on their Note? It doesn't matter which rom, any rom! If you're unfamiliar with PDroid, click below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1357056

Looks like a good app to have.
Will try it once l get home

Excellent. Any input from fellow note users is welcome.

Hi,
I've been able to patch the roms lph4 n3v3r d135 KL8 v1.0.3.zip & v1.0.4.zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1424401 but I have not installed PDroid app itself yet. So I can't really say it has been successful but the patching part completed without issue.
And I've flashed the v1.03 to my galaxy note, also seemingly without issue.
Best,
Chilax

This looks like a nice app.
I use LBE privacy guard.
Would love to have this.

Yup, have this working with RocketROM v21.

coming from a fresh install of criskelorom v6, you have to apply a patch first.
though weirdly enough, i wasn't able to grab the patch for the criskelorom, so i tried this by accident.
PDroid-v1.27-XXLA4_CheckromRevo_NoteHD_V5.zip
Pdroid works after that.

Pretty much all the roms are themed stock roms ( except for CM rom)
So they should work with each other

I got PDroid working on darky 3.1 & 3.2. The latest version of the PDroid patcher solves the TW FC issue.

This flashes fine thru Odin, thank you.
Rom Manager App does not recognize that clockwork mod recovery has been flashed though (and I did not try to flash it from that App). So it seems the only way to do backups and recovery is thru the actual Recovery Menu.
I need to contact Koush and see what needs to be done in order for the App to have support for our device. Haven't done that yet, been busy working on CM9.
Ok, I've added a p6800 recovery for someone brave enough to test it (I don't have the device to test on).
(Nevermind, fixed it - thanks for the new version!)

I will not likely be working on fixing any issues with it for awhile (CM9 is my priority right now), so if you find something that needs fixing, either fix it and send me a patch (so I can update this build), or wait.

I've had the same issue (with more than one version of the root package), I had to go back to 5.0.2.7 for this reason.
This version was also incapable of loading up the backups I made with 5.0.2.7, is that to be expected or a bug?

I guess so.. I experienced this kind of problem before on my X-HTC Tattoo where I need CWM version 5.x.x then I can only flash nightlies from CM7.. If I'm not mistaken 'build 7 error' or something sounded like that.. It just wouldn't install any CM7.

Visit the cwm link in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25272623 if you need a working cwm for the vzw 7.7.
You won't find many brave souls with a vzw 7.7 for this version of cwm as there is no stock firmware out (that I know of) to revert to if **** goes wrong.

So, I'm new to Galaxy S. Need Help :)

Hi guys,
I own a Galaxy S i9000 mobile.
It's running on :
Android 2.3.3
Baseband : DXJV9
I have not rooted it or did anything till now.
I wanna flash ICS AOKP on my mobile..
I have tried using the search option but still im soo deserted.
Can you guys guide me on how to root, flash CWM recovery, and flash ICS please ?
and Does Galaxy S supports ROM Manager ? coz i've been using Galaxy Ace before and it didn't support it..
Thanks a lot
For Root read this.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108
You need to download file ending in JVP. Usually you want the one ending with last 3 digits of your baseband but as there is no JV9 JVP is close enough and is reported as working. Besides it does not really matter as you just need this for root.
Once you have root you can simply follow the guide in the AOKP thread...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1524108
I know you have stated you want AOKP but if you want a bullet proof simple way to get this all done start with this thread for Team ICSSGS.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494493
I usually like to make sure I have all necessary files, roms & programmes before starting so if anything goes wrong I can get my phone working again. This tutorial will help you with that also.
After following all of this you should have a good understanding of what to do and then you can flash AOKP as their instructions are kind of limited.
Also when choosing an ICS Rom this is a great thread with regards to performance.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1554621
AOKP is a wonderful choice.
But if I can give you an advice, wait for the next Milestone which is expected to be released over the next few days

and finally, Which version of the kernel should i use for official AOKP b34? 1.1.0 or 1.1.0s?
Not sure but both should work. 1.0.1s is for slim ics and other roms. If it is not compatible it will break 720 video recording & playback otherwise eveything else should work. There is also a video patch somewhere.

Alright..I've flashed AOKP b34 and Semaphore 1.1.0s
Everything seems to be fine
But now my sdcard is mounted as internal storage and the actual internal storage is mounted as sdcard..is this a bug or what ?
Even when I connect my phone to my PC using USB,only the actual internal storage (which is mounted as SDcard shows up..
I personally haven't 1.1.0 only 1.0.1sbm with slim ics. I think the 1.1.0 is still a test version for cm9 but could be wrong. Things may have updated since i last looked but i recommend reading the semaphore thread and posting there for more help.

Known bug in Semaphore. Make sure you enable the 'Netfilter' module in the app. When it randomly doesn't work, which is the bug, simply check and uncheck it 2 times and it will work.

Help regarding 'Franco.Kernal' updates for UK SNote please?

Hello Members, i have a UK SNote GT-N7000 and it's running ICS 4.0.3, it's also using the 'franco.kernal r5'.
The kernal was installed during a procedure i followed from RootGalaxynote.com on rooting ICS SNote without needing a computer to do it, (just running CW recovery.zip, then using it to installed files for superuser, then installing franco kernal r5)
What i've found is that there are updates of franco kernal form version R6 right upto R12 through web searching,, and searching this forum, do these updates apply to my UK SNote and if they do, should or can they be installed using the same method as i did when following the Rootgalaxynote video tutorial.
I know there is a Franco Kernal Updater on the Google Play market, and another one from the same developer specific to SNote, but this app hasn't been updated for a while or so the reveiws point out, anyway i'd rather not run any additional sofware just to update the kernal if it can be done in the same way as it was originally .
Any help from members, and any links to the correct franco.kernal version download for my SNote would also be a great help.
kind regards
Livio

Thanks Members, but I feel I'm still a bit confused so bear with me please.
So far my understanding from your replies is that the Franco. Kernal r6 is the last version supporting the SNote, but there are millions who have the phone and have installed franco's Kernal thinking that when Samsung issues the UK official ICS 4.0.4 update, and possibly Jelly bean's 4.1 in GNote's future, that surely the Kernal will need tweaking and have bugs working with these upcoming updates.
This is a real let down..... Franco, if your reading this please change your mind, and continue to monitor your Kernal for the SNote, after all, what will happen next when the SNote 2 comes out, we he drop SGS3 support, The SNote 2's only round the corner.
The other point I was confused about was needing to install 'mobile odin' if I was going to update to version r6. As I mentioned in my original post I didn't need to install any software to install Franco. Kernal r5 other than using CW mod recovery, the video instructions I followed (link below)
rootgalaxynote(dot)com/galaxy-note-root/how-to-root-ics-on-galaxy-note-gt-n7000-no-computer-required/
Also, if I wanted to download Franco.kernal r6, could I use the file copy from the same 'downloadandroidrom.com website described in the video tutorial above (address below)
downloadandroidrom(dot)com/file/GalaxyNote/kernels/FrancoICS
Regards

Hi devid801, I followed what I did before and think the Kernal has been successfully updated, but can't be sure, if it has then the Kernal version of the phone now reads.....
3.0.15 - Franco. Kernal
Francisco @ Francisco #6
SMP PREEMPT WED JUN 13 01:13:24 WEST 2012
..... Is the '#6' part above the indication that it is now version 6 (I know it may seem obvious to others, but I don't know for sure)
At the moment the phone running well, so a confirmation from you, or another member would be great.

Stock N7000XXLS2 4.1.1 safe or not?

So Sam mobile has just posted a unofficial 4.1.1 N7000XXLS2_N7000OXXLS2 rom for the OG Galaxy note. I really wanna try it but what scares me is that it has an exclamation mark next to the download link. Has any one tried it yet? What's the best and safest was to flash it? Thanks.

I have tried 4.1.1 custom roms before but they ether have problems with the the stock apps or with battery stabilization.
Rocket Rom was nice but music player was not working and i couldnt get to fix it. Email app was missing, installed a new one but was crashing.

I managed to flash it and it looks and feels good. I just need to root it (XXLS2) any ideas?
I'm on the leaked ls2, so long as you flash correctly doing clean install, all snote and sapps working fine now issues here. A lot of people are doing a dirty install which doesn't leave space for bloatware including sapps to install.
