[Q] how to install a theme ? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am using Rahul's Jetpack Rom v8.1 , and I tried to install his theme (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20468475#post20468475[/url])
I intalled the zip from cwm, and that i got into a boot loop , so I had to reflash the rom from cwm again to fix it .
how do i install the theme ?

You have to wait longer for a Theme to apply since the dalvik cache is rebuilt. Are you sure your device is bootlooping?

positive , the kernel boot animation starts over and over again

[Q] Applying a theme

Hey guys,
I've already tried twice to install a theme on my I9000, but it doesn't seem to work. after installing it using recovery the phone won't load (it just got stuck in the I9000 screen). The only way out was to reinstall the rom (Darky's v8.0 slim).
Does any of you has any idea what did I do wrong?
Here's the post of the theme I tried to install http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=898892
Hve you tried to clear dalvik cache in cwm and flash the theme again? Works for me.

How did you try to install it? I've used Darky's ROMs since v6 and have always flashed themes over it without any problems.

You will always have that problem coz the ROMs you flashed requires GB. so go flash GB first before you install CWM and custom ROMs..

it should be 2.3.4 before you installing CWM
HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED:
1. YOU NEED TO FLASH YOUR PHONE TO GINGERBREAD 2.3.4
2. AFTER FLASHING STOCK ROM, ROOT IT!
3. INSTALL CLOCK WORK MOD
In this part, it is now the installation of your CUSTOM MADE ROM
1. Wipe Dalvick Cache
2. Wipe Data/Reset
3. Wipe Cache
4. Install Zip from sd card then locate the zip file
5. YOUR GOOD TO GO!
BTW: Always wait for the rom to load, it may take awhile to load if it is installed for the first time
Like If this helped you THANKS
What's your model number? ?
You need to flash GB-
Using Odin multi downloader+tass and also need CWM(for flash CM)...
Sent from my GT-S5570 using XDA
Thanks buddies...but already found a way out now my phone is working.

Devil Kernel Jelly bean

hey guys..i want to flash the new gnexus jelly bean port v6.1 and i don't know how to install the devil kernel...after i install the rom i need to reboot my phone and then full wipe and install the kernel?
You install them with CWM Recovery, I don't know if a wipe is needed but you can make one just to be safe.

Hey
its not necessary to make a wipe while flashing the kernel(ONLY THE KENEL)
its flashed after the installation of the rom is complete..
Devil Kernel will automatically wipe cache and Dalvik. Just throw the Zip onto your internet SD and flash from CWM. That's all.
Help. I done exactly as you guys said (i'm using cm10 btw), and the boot screen now shows CM9 boot animation instead of cm10, is this normal? Also it is laggy (meaning it starts and stops). Normal??

CM11 Infinite Boot Loop

Hi,
I have an infinite boot loop when i try to get CM11 on my Z1.
You have to know that :
- I unlock my bootloader with adb and it's work : my bootloader is unlock
- I try ALL nightly honami rom on cyanogen website
- When i turn on CWM I clean reset all cache (wipe, dalvik and wipe data)
- I install the gaps too for 4.4
So after that i try an unofficial CM 10.2 stable version with gaps for 4.3
And get infinite boot again and again... !
I don't see where is the problem ? I wait 20 minutes for each times and roms are put the SD card.
I use adb for unlock my bootloader and i boot the good boot.img for each rom in the shell before the install.
Help please ! Why it's not work ?
Thanks
Did you ask this to the OP of the Rom which you installed, maybe he know the solution.
I had this issue once on my galaxy s2.
By that time, I used a custom kernel that wasnt optimized for CM. Could it be that you are using a custom, non-CM-supporting kernel?
Also try a factory reset before you install CM
I get this with just about every rom apart from CM11. I'm currently struggling with romaur
Hope you manage to get it sorted
The questions remains . What kernel are you using? Did you do a factory reset before flashing?
You must wipe data, system and caches BEFORE installing a custom ROM
