Something has to put the birthday in the calendar. If you sync with Exchange, and set up your contacts wtih Birthdays, Outlook will add them to the calendar. Google doesn't do this, but there are some tools to do it:
http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2009/07/birthday-calendar-for-google-contacts.html
Since Facebook doesn't have a calendar, I see no way to do it automatically. All the above methods rely on the contact app to talk to the calendar app within one application suite.
If you have Google/Gmail contacts and you have all their birthday information entered there. The easiest way is to go to Google calendar on a desktop. Then you would go to the Calendar settings, click on the Calendars link, and then click where it says to "Browse interesting calendars". This will take you to a page where it has the options for Holidays, Sports, or More. If you click more, there is a "Contacts' birthdays and events" calendar that you can subscribe to. Once subscribed, you can then select it as one of the calendars to sync on your phone to the calendar app.
Sounds complicated and maybe it is for some, but it was not for me. Hope this helps.
"EboBirthday" from Android Market does exactly what you're looking for perfectly and you don't have to worry about syncing with anything outside of the contact list on your phone.

well... kind of...
when you turn your phone off, and turn it back on... all the birthdays dissappear from the calender and you have to run EBOBIRTHDAY again... which takes a few minutes if you have a lot of contacts...
ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS?
Hmm. This didn't happen to me and I've had it practically since the phone came out

Meh. I still prefer the Google contacts and calendar method.

I signed in to the stock Social Hub with my FB account and somewhere in the settings of SH you can choose to sync FB agenda items.

Facebook events not showing up in HTC Calendar (Musketeers 3.6)

Not sure if this is the right thread to post/ask this, but I installed the Musketeers 3.6 on my Sensation XL yesterday, and it looks good, but somehow I can't see the Facebook birthdays and events in my HTC calendar. In the HTC stock roms I was always used to seeing these, as you can see more calendars in the HTC calendar. This is my first custom ROM on a HTC phone so I wondered if it would have something to do with the development of the Musketeers rom or if it's an oversight on my account.
I have:
- checked the Facebook box in the calendars to use in the calendar app
- Facebook app installed
- Facebook calendar syncing with the device (according to sync settings)
- Facebook contacts linked with Google contacts (however birthdays do not show up on the contact sheet of each contact)
- rebooted several times
Anyone any tips?
After a Facebook update I had to login again into Facebook and give HTC Sense permission again, then all of a sudden the Facebook events and birthdays appear again in my HTC Calendar. I'm a happy camper again.

Does google calendar work on HTC ONE?

Does google calendar work on HTC One?
I know there were heaps of problems with google calendar on HTC One X, and when you uninstalled the google calendar, the HTC calendar no longer worked and you had to do a factory reset to fix it.
I don't want to go through that hell again, and haven't rooted my HTC One, so can't back it up /try/ restore if stuffed.
Anyone tried it?
It's a totally new version of Sense, HTC calendar and google calendar.. I'm not game to get punched in the face again..

Calendar issue
I have "Contacts Birthday's and Events" calendar subscribed in my Gmail and I maintain the birthday dates of all my contacts in Gmail [format: December DD, YYYY]. In HTC calendar [Accounts] i checked the Google option and in that i checked "Contacts Birthday's and Events" option, which takes the birthdays dates from my Gmail contacts and sets reminders and notifications. But I am not able to see any notifications from the calendar.
Now, i have another option in HTC Calendar Accounts called "People (Birthdays & Anniversaries)" and i have no idea where this option came from and from where it takes the birthday data from but it displays the birthdays. The annoying thing is when an event is about to occur this People thing displays 4 reminders for the same event, which is irritating.
I want to know where this People option came from and from where its taking the data and why the hell cant i see the Gmail contacts birthdays through the "Contacts Birthday's and Events" option??? :crying:
