Do any of u guys know how to send a group MMS/SMS and have all of the responses show up in the same thread? I know that it is possible to send a group MMS by adding a period in the subject and sending it to multiple people, but the replies do not show up in the same thread; they show up in the individual responders threads. I know that it is possible since it works very well on the iPhone, so I was just hoping that it is also possible on Android and maybe I just haven't figured it out yet. IMO, it's an awesome feature, and seems like a simple feature to implement (I'm just guessing here as I have an almost non-existent knowledge of Android SMS/MMS protocols).
I came across this thread while looking for a solution, but all that was suggested is using other group chat like apps, that involve using data, and requiring the other parties involved to download a specific app.

I have found multiple threads in different forums, all say the same. Use an app and ask everbody to use it... It seems that the Verizon Messages app does group messaging. I am with Sprint, so its not available for download to my phone.
Yea, I'm on ATT so I also can't use it

Who all currently has a google wave account? I am working on a project using Wave on the G1 and wanted to know how many people are using it. Don't want to release too many details about the project yet but if you use wave post here. Will be releasing more details here in the next few days when I am finished finalizing it.
Im using it.
I have an account.
Just curious what is your current main use of it? I will be putting in Speech to Text to make it easier to use from the phone.
yep
I have an account as well. Not many of my friends use it much right now, but those that do I just use it for written communication mostly.
Same here, currently only a limited number of my friends use it. Those that do use it are the ones that work on android projects with me. We have been using it to discuss ideas for our apps so that we have a well written record of what we want.
I'm on it.
Just got my invite yesterday.
*Raises hand*
I have an account
I am using it and know 3 other Android users that are as well.
I'm using it too.... Wait don't have an account yet. Bet rest assured once I get my invite I'll be all over it as well.
i have an account and logged in once...
i dont understand how it works :S
I still need an invite if anyone has one to spare!

email = http://scr.im/1wwu
Thanks in advanced if anyone does.
I have a couple invites left and will give them out to select people. PM Me if you need an invite.

A big thank you to whomever sent me the invite! Im online and rocking now and looking forward to see how I can use this to help with all my themes and mods!
I have Google Wave but has no friends to use it with...
Anyone who wants to follow my themes is more than welcome to add me as a contact with brandenk[at]gmail[dot]com
Does anyone mind giving me an invite? i've been looking for one for awhile now
Hello everyone! I am the developer of Prepay Widget, a powerful app that allows you to monitor your account balance through USSD requests.
You can find more info about USSD on Wikipedia, but basically these are short, SMS-like messages used by most GSM and some CDMA providers to deliver information
or control account services. The actual information comes to you in the form of popup toasts, which thids app hides and parses into widgets.
You can find the apps landing page on XDA at the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12348102
However, i want to stress that its important that we get some device-specific feedback, so please post in this thread if you have issues,
this helps me keep track of bugs and requests better.
You can use the Lite version of the app - it has all the functionality of the full version apart from automatic updates (not really that important imo).
As I haven't got one of these phones in my pocket, I need some testers to track down problems. Please, use this thread to comment or
suggest features. It is my belief that addressing issues is best done individually by phone, so if something doesn't work, let me know and I will fix it ASAP.

Debugging:
Please use the "Write to developer" item in the Settings menu to send logs. Enable debugging, reproduce your error and then send the logs.
Make sure you include a description - the more detailed the description the better.
Screens:
App is now in Top New Paid on the market
double post
This is now one of my favorite widgets! Thanks a lot, no issues here.

I'm running PSX ROM and seem to be running into issues installing BBM. Rather, it WON'T install whatsoever.
BBM.com website states that the app does not support custom ROM's, which I find hard to believe being the case. I've got a ticket opened with Blackberry out of curiosity. Anyone else running a custom ROM and able to install BBM? Suggestions?
EDIT: As always a cache clear has resolved the issue. Works now.

With the increasingly large number of BBM threads being created throughout XDA on a regular basis, the Moderation Team assigned to this group of forums has decided that it's simply not feasible to allow it to continue any further. Since BBM groups are more of a social group rather than a discussion about a particular device, they are not appropriate for a device specific forum such as this one, and in the interest of keeping the forums clean we have decided to close all BBM threads in our assigned device specific forums.
Having said that, there are options still available to users that require the use of BBM groups as a medium for communication:
1) You may post your PINs, group info, etc., in the BBM for Android located in XDA General.
2) You can send your info through a private message to the OPs of existing BBM group threads.
3) You can include your PIN, QR code, or group info in your signature.
Since BBM groups are a relatively new topic on XDA, it is still possible that certain accomodations could be made sometime in the future depending on the overall need. Until then, the decision to close all BBM threads in our area will remain in effect so we appreciate your understanding and cooperation on the matter.
Thank you
Hi guys. I have created a spreadsheet to classify the new lollipop roms, and i want to share it with you.
There are several threads (thanks) for rom indexes, but this is a real-time collaborative one. I know, it can be a mess if people start deleting other people work.
Anyhow i will let the spreadsheet online for a few days. If nobody uses it or people breaks it, i will delete it.
Feel free to update it, add new roms, or post ideas. I don't guarantee any kind of support, the idea is to be collaborative.
Here is the google spreadsheet:

I think xda should create a web tool for debdv's. Every developer could enter the main info of his rom, and we would be able to see it like a table. We could do filters for device, android version, etc. I think it would be nice.
I don't think it will happen, because they want us to flash every single ROM and spend hours deciding what one we like.
Even the titles and original posts no longer seem to be updated. I've searched many threads trying to find a lollipop ROM with a black theme (not dark grey). I found newer versions mentioned towards the last couple pages of a thread, that weren't mentioned in the original post.
I know it's extra work but man it's difficult to sort through the different ROMs when the thread op lacks so much info.

New to the community & Android development. Please direct me in the right direction.
Hello, I'm new to the Android community. I have prior programming experience and I have made apps through Unity and have successfully published them on the Google Play store and competing app stores. I decided that I want to write native Android apps.... so here I am.
The problem:
I want to create a very simple app. It is a simple messaging app, just like the messaging in Snapchat. It is not like other text messaging apps where you are given a number and you can text anyone you want, even if they don't have the app. That is not my goal.
1. You must have the app
2. You do not get a new number. You get to choose a new username only.
This is the goal of the app. The question is... what libraries and APIs do I have to use? Are there any good tutorials on this subject? And the most important question is, would I have to buy any servers or something? Do I have to spend any money for this to work or can this work with the user's cell connection? I don't want to purchase anything / servers. Is this possible?
I'm sorry for the lack of knowledge, but I am aiming to improve myself! Thank you very much for the read.
Hello,
Messaging infrastructure needs a server to centralize users accounts, messages and users status.
You can find low cost VPS servers, but it's not free.
Sincerely.
Here, this one mcould help u http://djangostars.com/blog/app-development-cost-android-vs-ios/ . They've gor both ios and android review, so u should read only one part)
