I know that we can save the S Memo notes by exporting using Kies but it is not saved as individual files. I would like to manually saved them if I know which folder are they found on the Note.
Thanks.
Open your S-Memo,select your drawing to display it,then Menu>Export to Gallery.
Your note is saved in /sdcard/S Memo Export as a jpg image.
Used English(US) language. Different languages has different output folder names, however somewhere in /sdcard/... it should be. You don't need to use Kies.

My gallery is picking up every single folder that I have with images in it for some reason. I define the folder as hidden but it still picks it up. Even when moving pictures from one folder to another, it sometimes takes days to see the change in the gallery, even after media scans...
I am running Cognition v3.02, could this be a problem with my rom?

1. If u want no app to pick up media from any folder, create an empty file in it and name it ".nomedia".
2. If u want gallery only not to pick, rename the folder to start with a ".".gallery skips looking into folders beginning with a ".".
If u put the .nomedia file it wont be picked by any app, not just gallery.

Make a text file, rename it to .nomedia and place it in any folder you don't want scanned by media scanner.
I see some 1 near me to it
I already renamed the folders that I didn't want it to find and put a "." In front of it, but it finds them anyway.
Ill try the .nomedia thing and see if it works

This is getting ridiculous... I even tried downloading an app meant to hide files from the gallery, but nothing is working.
Does anyone have a solution?

I believe you misunderstood. You don't put the files IN the .nomedia folder, you go to the location where the files are and make a .nomedia folder in there.
For example, say you have some icons in a folder that is named "icons". Us My Files or Astro to open that folder so you can see all those files, press the menu button, create new folder, name it ".nomedia" without quotes, rescan.
That should take care of it. When you're done, it should be:
.nomedia(folder with nothing in it!)
image.jpeg
image.png
song.mp3
This screenshot is an example of what it should look like.
And if you just have certain pictures or files or icons that you don't want to show up, but are in the same folder, easiest way to do it is to create a new folder and move all files that you don't want visible into that folder, and within that folder make a .nomedia folder and rescan.

Lagfix fixes this up quite a bit! Also, depends on the r/w speed of your SD card I believe. Mine is a Class 2 and it is so slow, so now I put all Media on my Internal SD now. External is for all my music.

Yes. I'm starting to think my gallery is just messed up. The pictures I hide show up but if I try and view them it shows a blank screen for most of them.

Did you try putting a file called .nomedia in the folder where the icons are stored. That will exclude the files from the gallery. It will also exclude sub folders.

thanks for help, but it doesn't work...
You could switch to a different pic viewer, like Quickpic. It allows you to exclude folders from scanning. However, in the stock gallery, it still scans them. I also saw an app on the market that supposedly hides pics. I haven't tried it, so i couldn't tell you if it works.
Okay Google, very nice you have updated the people app in ICS to support 256x256pix.
The bad side is that when we sync with our contacts from gmail, the pictures will be down scaled and look hideous ! Not good enough!! makes the phone book look ridiculous!! All the photos go to low resolution after a wipe!! such a shame for such a polished OS!!
May be most of you noticed by now that ICS ROM is sucks on exporting contacts bcuz it decreases the quality of contacts pictures during importing the exported vcf file by ICS.. this was fine on GB ROMs..
Can anybody point me to a modified contacts.apk that can export contacts without changing pics resolution or can point to the responsible xml file for exporting contacts photo resolution so I can edit it and flash it to my phone..
I am having the same problem
I have to set all pics again manually , its a disaster.
Didn't anyone try exporting contacts via gingerbread ROM... if you do so and then import them by ICS ROM, the contacts photo will retain their resolutions in which they are exported by gingerbread ROM..
So I conclude that the problem is with exporting code in ICS.. it doesn't export the right pic size (only thumbnail size!!) so even the vcf file size is much smaller than the one created by gingerbread..
So did anyone try to modify gingerbread contacts.apk to work on ICS??? or at least fix this exporting code error..
try HD contact photos
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ryosoftware.contactphotosupdater&hl=en
there is a free version in xda forums as well...
thank you for reponse but HD contact photo is not use for backing up your contact... I need one to backup contacts with ability to retain pic resolution when I restore them... any idea???
no idea...
but this works well for me. I when u restore the contacts the batch function restores all the pics to a good quality.

It doesnt allow you to create folders like that, you have your default photo folder and a sd card folder, but it wont let you create seperate folders. if you want this function, you would have to get an alternative such as quickpic from playstore

Thanks everyone I found the solution :-S After update if app the album tab was empty, all back to good after clearing cache
For the past year or so I've been using my gmail app on my phone to receive and edit .xsls files for work. All of the sudden I can no longer open them. When I select the attachted file it prompts me to chose from a selection of irrelevant apps to open the file. I've even downloaded specific apps; in addition to Polaris Office 5 which is what the Note 3 comes with and what, up until now, has been used to open these files with, and none of them will show up in the selection of apps to open the file with. Also, when trying to manually browse the file into the specific application it is now found among my downloaded apps. I'm not sure this is relevant, but its worth noting that I can no longer open these file types from the gmail webpage on my computer either. So I'm not exactly sure where the problem lies, I'm just hoping for some insight, if any would be willing to offer it.
Thanks in advance.

GMail cannot open .xlsx, and I don't think it's ever been able to.
However, on a stock Note 3, you can open .xlsx from within gmail and via other methods - using Polaris Office. By default, gmail will use that to open .xlsx files on the Note 3. Note that when you open from gmail, and then hold home to get the task manager, it shows that window as being gmail, not polaris.
My guess is that you removed or froze Polaris Office. Put it back or defrost it, and see if it works.

I've been opening them via Polaris office for some time now and all the sudden it won't any more. I have the Polaris app running and everything. When I click on the attached file it gives me the option to open it using S Note, Nova Launcher and a couple other apps that can't read files. I don't get what the issue is. I have a few apps downloaded that are supposed to be able to read .xlsx files but it never gives me the option to open the file with those apps.

I downloaded the file from the website version of gmail and I think the problem is that the files are downloading as .bin files and not as what they are being sent to me as. Any ideas as to why that would happen?
