I have my cousins old Cellular South HTC Hero. I have a Sprint account. I am a noob when it comes to figuring this out on my own, is there anyway to Flash the phone to Sprint. If so, How? I googled and could never find a Step-by-step. Please help.
see if sprint will accept your esn/meid under the battery. if not, there is no legal way to do it. if sprint accepts your meid on your account, reflash phone with sprint ruu and you should be good to go

Ive recently purchased EVO, rooted and working. I have a Sprint HTC Hero, I would like for it to work on a US Cellular account. Is this called unlocking? Can it be done, if so please point me in the right direction, thank you.
We call it hacking here not usually unlocking for Sprint / USCC units. There are really 3 things you'll need to do this
1. The MSL (Master Subsidy Lock) of your Sprint Hero. This is a 6-digit code that only Sprint can give you, unless it was written down during activation or for another procedure. Edit: Thanks to kyouko for providing an easier way to obtain the MSL
2. U.S. Cellular's provisioning for your area. This is information would be programmed into the Hero in order for the phone to connect to US Cellular rather than Sprint.
3. "Connections" - US Cellular will most likely NOT activate a phone that they don't sell. Unless you know someone that works for USCC, this might be the hardest step.
Also, just a recommendation that if you haven't yet, root and flash the Hero to a cleaner ROM than the Sprint one on there.
Hey thanks alot thats the information I needed.
My pleasure. Happy hacking and good luck! If there's anything you need explained further or if you're stuck somewhere, let us know
I just bought a CDMA Hero that I thought was on Sprint's network from Craiglist, the guy i bought it from actually had it flashed to work on MetroPCS and never told me. I have no idea how to change it back to get it working on Sprint's network so that I can activate. Any help would be appreciate
i hate to tell u this but if the esn has been on another carrier sprint will not reactivate it.
More info please?

Can you explain as to why and how this works? All i know is that I flashed the RUU rom from the htc website and I thought that this would change it back to sprint coverage but when it was done all it changed was that it was no longer rooted and still on metroPCS. To change it back to Sprint coverage would you flash a sprint PRL file or something? I just need some help as to how this works.
Thanks for the pending reply
Bought an Htc One off craigslist. Guy said he tried flashing it to work on boost mobile didn't work so he was selling it. Took it to sprint to activate, employee tells me since it was flashed the esn had to be recertified and could take up 24 hours. Was messing with the phone later that night and tried to make a call and it went to Verizon customer service. I believe this phone is an Htc One for sprint but don't have a definitive way of checking. Also not sure what steps I need to take to get it back on sprints network. Any help would be appreciated.
Boot into the bootloader and there should be a barcode option or something.. the esn stuff is there..

all Verizon htc one's have a laser engrave on the back that says Verizon. really obvious, so if it's not there, it's not verizon
I haven't been up to date on flashing and switching carriers in a few years, I used to do it all the time.
My girlfriend broke here phone (Verizon Contract) and needed a new phone, we got a good deal on a HTC One (m7) Model No: HTC PN072. And purchased it.
I thought it was still be the same old flash the radios call Verizon and keep asking for new people until I get someone who can offer to activate. Now I am looking for an unlock tool and all I can find is GSM SIM unlockers, and can't find the right Verizon Radios for this phone.
My girlfriend is pissed because now she doesn't have a phone and we just spent money on this new phone. Am I SOL? Or is there a thread somewhere that my googfu just can't find?

i tried to do this for a phone for mom. it doesnt matter what you do with the phone- verizon has white lists now. if they dont have the ESN in their system, they WILL NOT activate it. you have a sprint ESN, so you will never activate that on verizon no matter how many times you call them.
sucks, i know. I had to buy a verizon m7.
It can be done using a donor phone the same way you would fllash a phone to metropcs. you can find plenty of tutorials online just replace everything metro with sprint.
Any luck on this? I have a Sprint HTC One M8 that I wish to bring over to Verizon. I'm not new to changing ESNs and I understand the legal ramifications of using a service that is unpaid for, so that aside, I'm paying for the service. I had bought the phone intending to switch to Ting, but the IMEI is locked to Sprint for one year from release. I have until April when that gets unlocked, so I figured to use it without the SIM card, since that's what allows 4G LTE usage on CDMA phones, at least from what I am told by people and the phone (once I removed the SIM card it started giving me that message). Hell I'm ok disabling data altogether, but as long as I can make calls and text, I'm jolly.
You could flash them to pageplus although I think they only have 3g.
Pageplus has 4G albeit at a reduced speed but effective 1/15/2015 they will not accept flashed phones anymore

This is illegal and not appropriate conversation on XDA. It's out there though, although I've only seen people flashing phones from Verizon to Page Plus or Sprint to Virgin or Boost. Never seen Sprint to Verizon or vice versa.
I was under the impression that Sprint and Verizon use different signal frequencies, and that the radios installed by HTC during build were specific to the frequency. Yes, they are both CDMA, but different frequencies.
AFAIK, the HTC Desire 510 (Sprint Prepaid version) is locked from use on other carriers until at least fall 2015. My question is - With unlocked bootloader, root, custom recovery, etc., is there anything that can be done to get this phone activated on a Ting account (they use the Sprint network)? Or is it just impossible because the ESN/MEID is blacklisted for the first year? I don't know how any of that works, so thanks for the advice.
Edit: Should have put a question mark in that title. Apologies for any confusion.

I have not found a way to get that done, and I've been trying for about 3 weeks. Sprint refuses to unlock the ESN because the phone was not active on Sprint prepaid for at least a year.
